Harugumo - overpowered main battery

This ships main battery is just way too op, can shoot faster than cruisers, totally insane...

I mean it has weaknesses aswell... Infact it has more similarities with cruisers than destroyers. It has too bad camo to play like a dd, and it turns slower than a conqueror. 

 

What it boils down to is a light cruiser taking the slot of a dd, tons of fun in randoms, but its not a good ship for competitive modes.

Hara is a real sucker for torps though, esp the cv kind that suddenly appears in their smoke

Big slow target that eats full BB AP pens, vulnerable to torpedos, CV’s and anything with radar or any DD with radar/hydro that pushes it.

 

It’s not OP, just a bit broken. Fact is Kittakaze is actually stronger than Harugumo.

Harugumo is a pretty selfish bote, farms a lot of damage but won't contribute as much as other DDs in regards of win/loss since it's hard to contest caps in it. It can outtrade every other DD in a gunfight sub 10km, but it gets spotted first and if enemy DD has some BB support fire, it can receive big chunks of damage.

Also it's almost impossible to dodge a decent volley of torps launched at your smoke in this thing. Add in it's spotted at about 3,4km(?) from air, so CVs can land huge strike on that thing pretty easy.

 

Actually pretty balanced imo, but i understand that the DPM can be frustrating when that thing smokes up in front of you and you've no counterplay available. But just wait until Colbert will be released

Quite interested to find out what the thoughts on counter play for a ship like Moskva that maybe finds itself alone facing a Harugumo might be; generally Moskva's AP tends not to stick and just OP's, switching to HE with Moskva's reload just doesn't seem to do enough damage in the time available especially if the Captain has enhanced SE bringing its HP close to 30k and smoke is available for the Haru?

• Do not be alone
• Do not get too close, you have the better gun arcs
• When he smokes, you should go dark too or he is not alone
• Otherwise use radar

Half the shells Harugumo fires at Moskva are shatters for 0 damage. And what is "enhanced SE"?

We used Haragumo in CB and it worked. It is LTP issue
