Was Playing my Hipper tonight. (Getting close to the Roon)

Did some nice Damage and Killed an Enemy BB while Escorting our Iowa. And was just about to change my Facing towards an Enemy Hipper which came around the Island.

And then my Internet just Shut down for nearly an Hour.

When I finally got back Online. I logged into the Game. Just to Find that I got Penalized for Leaving the Match Early.

I mean Seriously ?

A Single Disconnect which was not even in my Powers to Prevent and I get a Penalty for leaving the Match ????

On top of that. I already had a Kill and was Playing Actively. So it should have been entirely Obvious that this was not even Intentional.

Seriously WG.

You should really Improve this System.

When a Person Once or Twice in a Month gets a Disconnect it should just be Ignored by the System.

Its a Different Story if the Player Presses Alt-F4 and just leaves.

But when the Connection Cuts off than at least the first 1-2 Times you should just Decide in Doubt for the Defendant. And Ignore it.

Even if someone tried to abuse it to basicly get 1 Free Disconnect per Month it would still be easy to then Check on that Account Manually to See if its on Purpose.

Punishing Players which did nothing wrong never Sits well with People guys.

Nobody Asks for a Free Card to just Disconnect 10 out of 50 Matches.

But if Someone has Disconnects in over 500 Matches spread over 2 Months of Time. Then I dont think that its really Appropriate to turn him Violet.....

All your Doing by this is making the Player Scared to Play the Game.

Because if he then gets another Disconnect he might end up with a more Severe Penalty....

Oh, look... you are pink.

That's not really a penalty yet. That's just a warning.

The penalty would be you turned orange and forced to play co-op for a while. Which you only get for repeated violations.

The system works fine as it is. A disconnect can be forced in various ways and it is not Wargamings duty to figure out if it is an accident or intentional. It's actually impossible for them to do so.

We do not have record of your previous behaviour and we have only your side of the story.

Let me be a bit suspicious.

From my own observations you do not turn pink if game crashes and you are in the match, so...

You claiming that WG can "easily check", "obvious" and other stuff. No they cannot.

System is still very lenient and no changes are neccesary.

How you wouldn't look at it, you have left the match putting your team on disadvantage, and being pink is not really a penalty.

Being Pink is a Penalty and includes additional Risks.

And No.

Sorry but if someone turns Pink because he got DCed once then its not working fine.

If it was working fine. A Player which had an Involuntary Disconnect after he just Scored a Kill would clearly not turn Pink.

No Offense.

But If I want to leave the Match without being a Help to my Team I can just Yolo.

Which is not Penalized at all.

Its not even a week ago that a Friend of mine Yoloed his way to the Kremlin with a PR of like 200-400 thus me and the others telling him that if he doesnt play properly he can play without us.

Blaming me for Connection Issues is quite petty.

Sorry. But my Opinion stands.

This System needs a better judgement.

You should not turn Pink for a Single Disconnect.

Even less when you properly participated in the Battle till then.

But it's quicker to just quit the game.....

Whenever the game has crashed or my PC crashed I've always been able to get back into battle well within the time limit.   When there is a server problem I've not managed to do so - but I've never gone pink because of it.  This is the only time that WG can tell the DC from the game wasn't down to the player.

As there isn't a flood of complaints on the forum I can guess that there has been no general problem.

It feels like injustice when that happens to you.....it enraged me for a second too when it happend to me and there was a large warning window reprimanding me for something i did not do.

But it is automation.....if it stops griefers from quitting match after match it is worth it. It certainly will have helped preventing anti-CV griefers leaving all matches with CV out of rediculous "protest" so makes the game more playable. It is a necessary evil.

I do think this Topic came up a few times.

But I do Hope Disconnects are not that common.

I had 2 for this Entire Year.

So if there was a Better System in Place I would not have been Pink.

Also.

No.

Actually. If you just use Alt F4 or other *Quick* methods WG can tell.

Because your Computer sends a Termination Notice and Refuses new Connection Requests instead of having a Time Out.

So for WG to not be able to tell.

You need to plug a Cable.

Its definitively Easier to just Yolo and Tab out while your Ship goes on Suicide Course.

Joke is it doesnt.

Griefers just Yolo.

Often even Announcing it.

Nothing done about it.

Meanwhile.

I will likely get another Pink Time.

First I had no Sound in the Game.

Then it Suddenly Froze.

I waited nothing.

I tried to close it nothing.

Crashed the Process. And nothing.

Cant even Restart it cause it tells me Game is still Running....

Now Restarting the Computer entirely which takes forever because it cant close the Game....

Just Great...

If you keep having issues that forces you to go afk in matches, it means that everyone on your team gets a teammate less for those matches... It doesnt matter to them how or why you go afk, all that matters to them is that they have a teammate less.

The warning system in this game isnt just meant for people who deliberately quit matches, its there for everyone that for whatever reason go afk in matches. It doesnt matter why.

Sure.

So the Game is there to Penalize People which Suffer from Bugs in the Game.

I somehow doubt that this is the Intention behind this System.....

It's not just CV grievers, but I have noticed a lot more AFK DD players in wows lately.

And I'm not talking only about myself, one DD even went AFK (purposefully, in a corner!) on Flamuu's stream and was seen by at least a thousand people.

And they don't do this in carrier games exclusively. Often it's because their team is supposedly stupid or something. Once it was a DD player that was so sure about himself that 'his' team was gonna loose, he went AFK and we managed to aaaalmost!!!! make it a win!!!

....if only that single DD player hadn't gona AFK then it would have been a win :fish_palm:

If you are having problems with your internet connection, then it's not your fault (or at least usually it isn't). But still, the game has no way of knowing whether you lost your connection or you (for whatever reason) jancked out your network cable on purpose or something.

And besides, it's just 3 games of being pink, it's barely a big deal.

But if your computer has a hard time running games, then you perhaps should start the troubleshooting process (especially if this turns out to become a recursive event).

This happened to me once. The game crashed as the battle started. I could not reconnect, screen just sat on loading. It turned out that WG had released a patch, with no patch notes. Once I figured that out and the patch installed I got back in. The match was over and I was pink because WG had released a sneaky patch. Those are the breaks!

Second Time the Penalty came.

But was instantly removed.

Dont know if a Mod saw it and just cleared it.

Or if the Game Realized it was a Bug and thus cleared it itself.

And no.

Was not a Connection error.

Internet was still fully there.

Just the Game Bugged out and could not be closed anymore.

Usually there's more needed than one disconnect to flag a pink status but I can check with our support about your account. Besides that - if this happens as exception, the pink status has no real penalty attached to it, only if you have a very unstable internet connection this would lead to the orange status.

About an hour ago I got T-boned by a BB that had his head down and I got penalized with points and XP deductions.

So, since I was unfairly penalized by WG for something I had no control over, true to the spirit and logic of War Gaming, they are now served with a one week no play penalty ending August 15.

Additional instances will incur additional measures including but not restricted to: additional and/or longer time penalties OR reduction of purchases of any sort for specific periods of time.

I am well aware this action by only one player means nothing to WG but if all wronged players announce amd apply the same counter-measures, they might notice it after a while.

Going AFK on purpose is reasonably punishable imho since few RL situations will cause you to drop the game.

Any and all absences from the game caused by malfunctions of WG equipment should just be ignored by the software and the game continued if possible, but no penalties shall be applied whether or not the round is finished before the player can resume.

Quick question - how is an automated system supposed to determine who is to blame? It merely detects if the damage was caused by an enemy or a friendly.

Besides, he got fined too. You just did not see it.

I'm well aware that he got penalized too.  Friendly rams can be ignored by the game unless it is obvious from long term count or frequency in a battle that someone is TKing or griefing.  A ram warning can be announced to the player in-game that has no penalty applied until the above-mentioned count kicks in at which point they are advised of a count-down being applied and what it is.

That is currently how the system works. If you are pink and end up with minor collision damage it does not count against you. If on the other hand you are one of four BBs trying to hide behind the same island then some grinding is inevitable.

I think you will find that most players aren't as petty and spoilt as you and realise that these 'little' things happen and a little bump to another ship means bugger all and it's a tiny amount of HP or credits anyway. :Smile_sceptic:

Thanks, I wasn't talking about already being pink but it is good to know there is some logic to this system.

Thanks for the visual of four BBs and one island.  It made me laugh, literally.  Then the DD driver in me kicked and went "HUGE target opportunity."  More laughing.
