Pay that to whoever developer fixes CV rework, why we have to scam our others into this

Sorry but please stay constructive - we offer you an additional incentive to invite a friend to play a game. I understand that you're not happy with the CV rework and if you don't feel like inviting someone into the game because you don't think it will be fun for them, that is your choice and absolutely fine. But nobody here is forcing you to do this.

I have to disagree with you.

We need players, with potentional to better themself yes, but WG politics denied that.

You "shoot" at us new and new prem. ships for whole weeks now. And results?! I see EVERY DAY potatoes with 300 battles, who have few prem. ships, which allows them through free XP get to tier 10 ship whatever a class. This type of players dooms high tier game, because they are stupid and know nothing about game mechanics. And most importantly, 85 or more percent of them don´t want to learn anything, because they have tier 10 ship or ships, they are good and so on and so on, bla, bla bla.....

My point is, that you want only money from them, nothing more, nothing less. I understand that, believe me, but I dislike it more and more as time pass.

We have many potatoes (I am bad player myself and I know it) between a players right now, and I think that many of us sees that, so we definitely dont need more of them. Only you do!

About that perfection of the game. I understand, that this game is still beta version. But WG work looks very strange to me. You do something and then ignore problems which appear on the way. After cruel and angry feedback You always says: Ok, we will fix that and this, but you always repair it only partially. After some time you do something else and the circle repeat itself. As historian (yeah I studied it on university) I see this as typical example of Cyclic conception of History.

We want them to play the game and if they're willing to spend money because they like the game, that is great for all players - because they pay for all those who don't want to invest but still play the game. FreeXP has to be converted, it can't be bought. But this event is only about either recruiting new players, which will always help the game and you because it broadens the playerbase and thus better queue times, MM, etc. - and getting old veterans back into the game. We're doing what we can to help players, e.g. with How it works videos that are also displayed for all players in the game. We want them to get better but it's up to each player himself how much time and effort they want to invest to become better - the better they are, the faster they will progress. If they're bad, they will progress slower. We do our best to fix what needs to be fixed but please keep in mind that player feedback isn't uniform, there are many different players who play for different reasons and who like & dislike other things. What the average Joe wants might be very different from what unicums want - and even that is already a big generalization.

Hello.
"we're happy to listen to what aspects you dislike, so we can try to improve that for the future."
Actually you don't (I mean the Wargaming company). You seem to be a nice guy, Crysantos, I have no quarrel with you.
I'm here since Beta (2015) and I KNOW that Wargaming doesn't listen, of if it does, it's a "I hear only what I want" way of listening. The company you work for lacks the respect for its players.

I'm (still) a loyal player because I have invested real, hard worked money and time in this game. While the money can be returned, generally speaking, you can't return to someone the time. Speaking of WoW's - playing in Beta it was a pain in the... a... neck, the lack of optimization, the video settings that were doing what they weren't supposed to, the forum, the false advertising, the premium purchases, the complains, the WG staff treating us like [edited], sending us from one place to another, the official game with tons of bugs + new bugs comings with new patches, and so on...
In moments like these  I realize how undeveloped is or world/planet in terms of gaming, we have a single online game with warships, which is too arcade and broken.
I'm not here because I love the game very much.  I'm here because of the lack of choice

The moment I will find a game that fit my needs, made by a company who respects its players, I'm out of here, 21 K battles or not.

All the best,

thunder3oo

I appreciate the feedback but I also think you focus on the negative things because especially if you played since Beta, you know we improved a lot. Remember the "good old times" with no mirror CV +/- MM, being permabeached, full map border humping, no daily containers, campaigns or topics like EU & NA disparity? We improved a lot and many of those things were feedback driven, just as they are now - I know there's much more to improve and we're far from perfect. But we do our best to listen and address your concerns - and we respect you and your opinion very much. But yes, there will be cases where our team has a vision for the game or disagrees with certain sentiments - and we will always do our best to showcase in such scenarios why we do this. I'm sorry that you feel this way and happy to listen to what points make you feel this way.

I'm a bit torn about that, we'll have to see. If players report the name, it should get changed.

In general guys - I understand if you don't feel like inviting players because you're unhappy with the current game but please keep this thread on topic, so players who have questions regarding this can find the answers easily.

This point (EULA 2.18) has several sub-points - which one is broken specifically if someone invites own new account to play?

exploiting game mechanics - well, game mechanics is not touched when someone creates a new one account, am I right?

gaining an unfair advantage - can someone gains advantage when he/she creates the account? if so - what kind of advantage?

purpose of evading sanctions - I don't think so, purpose is different

purpose of repetitive or excessive rule violations - again, purpose is different

So why you've stated this point of EULA to proof that new own accounts are not allowed?

Why you haven't added this restriction to the promotion rules (FAQ) - it would be clear?

@Crysantos could you answer my question, please?

@PanNickt I noticed that too, obviously it is against the spirit of the contest, it would be very unethical and obviously should be against promotion rules. But as you stated, it wouldn't be in violation of the EULA, at least not on the noted parts. Had the eula contained a part about a limitation in regards to the number of account(s) any individual can have at any given moment, and had that limit been set to a single account, then obviously it would be the violation, but as far as I can see, it doesn't contain one.

@Crysantos The recruitment drive speaks about incentives for the recruiting player, but what about the incentives for the "recruits" joining? Are they the same incentives that exist for the "Refer a friend"?
Obviously, it's an incentive to make people join so that they can recruit others and make some money through their recruiting efforts, but people shouldn't be joining for that reason.
So are there any specific incentives for the "recruit" that joins and if so, what are they?

Problem is that there is nothing about "inviting own accounts" in promotion rules or in the inviting program rules.

Creating your own accounts is not forbidden in any of these regulations and usually the general rule states: what is not prohibited is allowed.

That is exactly it, and I agree with your observation.
Certainly something that should be made a note of in their promotion rules, as it's obviously an mistake on their part.

First of all, it should be obvious that we're talking about recruiting friends or players who stopped playing, not inviting new accounts. We consider this as tampering since you're gaining an unfair advantage by pretending you're inviting a different person, while you're only recruiting yourself to get the reward. Since this is already covered in our EULA / TOS / Game rules, it wasn't mentioned again and to be honest - the opening statement of this competition is "For a limited time only, we’re teaming up with PayPal to give you the chance to collect up to €20 for each friend that you invite to play World of Warships via the new Recruiting Station!". There is no way you can read this as "recruit myself for rewards".

Please be reasonable here :Smile_honoring: To avoid any misunderstanding, I'll ask our content guys to add this to the FAQ.

The rewards for the new players are the same as before in the recruiting station - but you can definitely use the money you receive through this offer to split it with your recruits.

Thank you, Crysantos

We are being constructive. We tell you what you need to do to make this action work. We tell you why we don't join this incentive. We tell you why we quit game / limit playtime. Sorry that is not what you want to hear, but this painful situation has been caused by WG ignoring its player base. Well, it is your game after all, you created it, so now you can destroy it.

Just a quick thought: how are we supposed to compete with CC’s who have huge exposure and can present their links to an audience for 100.000’s each and every day?

I guess most understand and agree with most of your points, its quite complicated to explain things to so many players and make them see the general picture. BUT, in this quote above, its hidden, in my opinion, the one and strongest (by far) reason this game is fastly deteriorating and constantly bashed upon. Not bashed from everyone of course but from your loyal and experienced playerbase who btw are on average over 30-35 years old (quite important) which you consistently ignore.

And the reason you enrage them is this:   All those people just want to spend their precious gaming time, use their acquired experience and entertain their brain and intelligence at the highest level with either playing at High Tiers (T8-T9 but mostly T10s) or even play ranked every few months and you (WG that is) constantly insult their intelligence and their hard acquired experience by FORCING them to play with SO, SO MANY totally inexperienced players as teammates and as the enemy. You cant possibly understand the level of frustration an experienced player reaches when he enters a battle with a T10 and the game is identical or even worse as a T3 game. And as time passes by, the frequency of those unspeakable high tier battles is so high that the last month i personally experienced an over 60-70% ratio of dreadful, unspeakable, insulting gaming experience on high tier battles. And this happens BECAUSE you are doing literally NOTHING to point new players to the correct direction of how each specific class is played on each and every map. You expect people to learn the basic rules on their own by NOT TELLING them nothing as they progress through the game? The amount of humans capable of doing this on their own or by watching videos in a fairly short amount of time shouldnt be more than 10% - 15%, the rest are just not interested to do that on their own.. they NEED ways to make them see and learn THROUGH game progression. There are many ways to do that, introduce quests with class specific objectives, make them learn that, for example, a destroyer protects the battleships from the enemy destroyers, if the destroyer leave them to go for "fishing" then they will either sink or start running away like chickens. Make them realize the importance of each class relative to the team. That way you ensure that the percentage of those that dont wanna bother at all with game mechanics are minimal. Right now as things progress, this percentage is getting bigger and bigger everyday. You are slowly killing the game.

You must admit to yourselves that the beauty of the game is that as you progress its getting more DIFFICULT and this is the reason people loved it and stayed with it, its a privileged accomplishment you are now removing slowly but steadily and transforming this game into a ridiculus no-brains ship brawl but with high tier ships therefore you are diminishing the value of T10s and make them equal to a T1 in terms of progression value.

It takes a few smart moves to tweak this. Even the great CV controversy would have been avoided if you COMMUNICATED often to everyone that there is gonna be a period of a few months where CVs are going to be BETA TESTED in LIVE SERVER so people understood that this imbalance is temporary and its meant to make the game and CVs better. You could even give a tiny compensation at the end of every month to ensure players understand that CVs are currently TESTED in LIVE SERVER and their frustration is partly compensated so you make them a part of the test. But you shoved CVs into live server without any actual communication and you managed to make the majority of the playerbase angry as hell. Kudos.

Guys,

Please keep the discussion on topic. If you want to discuss player numbers or reasons why you're unhappy about the game in its current state, that's fine - but please do this in a separate thread and don't make this thread offtopic as I already said before. I cleaned it up a bit so that this thread can serve players who have questions related to this event.

We pay very close attention to what our players are saying and we communicate a lot. We do our very best to show you where we want the game to head, what we'll do to address issues like the ones related to CVs. Take a look at all the DevBlog posts around that topic. We also communicated beforehand that it'll take us a few months on the live server to get things in a decent balance with the rework because there is only so much testing you can do that is representative in a test environment. Even on Sunday in our free time.

Greetings, Crysantos

I'm sure you do... but the actions that need to follow that attention/feedback gathering are severely lacking. WoWS has turned into a factory that only churns out T9/10 premiums and questionable new gamemodes with strange cosmetics, while ignoring long-standing issues and desires "because they're too difficult to implement/low on the priority ladder". And stuff like that doesn't give confidence for the future, and doesn't give an incentive to invite people to explore this game. In all honesty, I see myself saying to aspiring new players: "WoWS was a great game, then the CV rework happened and it takes quite long to fix it, with WoWS now being borderline unplayable for a large group of ships, previously important tactical knowledge being nullified and the matchmaker swamped with high-tier premiums that are on offer at a blistering pace. Please check this game later, as for now it's a carcass even I don't recognise anymore".

Here is a ground breaking idea: Make the game better, so people want to play it and recommend it without financial incentives. It is such a novel concept, I know, so maybe no one from the company has thought about it yet?

You are welcome WG, and this advice was free. :Smile_coin:

Hi there,

We're doing the same thing that most other companies do - from Gaming to completely different businesses like online hotel reservations, etc. - it's a common practice and we simply create an additional incentive for a limited time to invite a new guy, an opportunity that presents itself with the recently introduced recruiting station. You might not agree with some of our policies, that is totally up to you and we're happy to listen to what aspects you dislike, so we can try to improve that for the future. If you don't want to recommend the game - nobody is forcing you to do this, we're already happy that you're a loyal player who stuck with us for more than 21.000 battles. For those who would like to participate, it's a good opportunity to use this program with an additional incentive.

Greetings, Crysantos
