Kinda easy to miss important threads in the dev thread overview when its spammed by posts from language specific coordinators.

Shameless bump.

Please for the love of god. Remove the language specific coordinator posts from the dev feed. Please, please, please. Did I say please?

Simple solution that is effective in many other forums.

Allow staff to set a flag them-self in every post if it should be flagged as a staff post or not. The community coordinators can also port important links or information if they want and have it show up, and real staff can also engage in casual discussions if they want that does not show up.

Guess you are trying to farm negative rep?

Either you are trolling or have no idea how it works... whatever it is, still deserves neg rep... as the way you said it makes your goal clear...

Now proceed to click and go to your language section and observe all the WG posts there...

SInce you are speaking for the OP, then please tell me why he is refering to those posts as 'Burundi posts' in the thread's title ? So don#t be surprised if ppl are responding in the same tone as the OP.

Im not speaking for the OP... i just had same thoghts as him... as last 2 days WG staff post list is filled 100% with posts in some weird language (that can just as well be Burundi to anyone not knowing it... sad you cant figure that out)...

Not to mention how most of the time at least 50% of posts in that list are some language specific posts... and that is just flat out silly! Or it should have options to show only posts from language forum of your choosing...

Number of burundi subsections on the forum ?

Anyway, it's the tone that makes the music. If the OP would have opened a thread without the underlying impression that 1) the languages that he does not understand are not worth displaying, 2) implied that he does not even care what langauges these are, 3) also compared these east european languages to random african one (indicating his level of respect for both of them), I guess he wouldn't had to bump it himself (and giving reps is no feedback, as much as likes on facebook).

It's a WG staff post tracker, not a Dev post tracker. It's like this for 2 reasons:

1 - No developers post on the EU forums.  Ev1n is a Publishing Producer and Tuccy is a Product Specialist

2 - We need to have a way to highlight staff posts for regular threads also.  To see important threads/replies from a WG staff member in a language you can read it's pretty easy, all you need to do is go to a sub section and look for the WG logo to the left of a thread.

CslleVM.png

3 - The tracker works based user groups, it can't display posts based on what language you read the forums in.

Sooo OP clearny doesn't have idea where Burundi is, and i think that he/she sees him/herself speaking superior language to Burundi people...
I am one of those 'Burundi speaking people' which is third world Poland, which is 6th in EU in terms of Citizens and 21st in terms of GDP in the world. So please, i see Your point but if You want to adress some issue make sure that you doesn't insult everybody around.

It doesnt matter what languages there are, what they can be... it might as well be Burundi to all of us who dont know it... that is the point! You are obviously way too sensitive and are so butthurt now... but that doesnt change the perfectly valid point... no matter what language that is, it is for vast minority of people displayed to everyone... and it clogs the posts for everyone! Its almost impossible to find english WG staff posts at that list... its usually german, polish etc... now it might as well be burundi for all i care... and no, my 1st language is not english... yet i would still be against wg staff post list being full of posts in my native language... that list should be general thing... if i want posts in my language, ill go look for them! 95% of people wont... so OP is right...

Seems like error on the forum made it post twice... and i didnt even want to post once... as i was just pasting quotes and stuff in it... wtf?

Cant find way to delete either...

Actually i'm not that sensitive, but i wanted to make a point too. If OP doesn't want to look like an a**hole but want's to adress an issue he can always do it in polite and cultural way. Even if he wrote 'klingon language' i would understand and see it differently. But i agree in 100% with the fact that it is riddiculous to see such spam in 'dev posts'.

PS. and what if there really is someone from Burundi who sees this and thinks "Wait, that's not Burundi, i don't even understand that klingon s**t" :P

Why does it matter if there are subsections? It might as well be burundi to those not knowing the language... you still dont get it it seems...

1) Its not about language that you dont understand not being worth displaying... its that no language other than english should be displayed in that list! English is not my first language and i dont want my native language posts to be there... If i want my native language posts i would go look for them... 95%+ dont care about it... and why should they? On top of that, english forum is by far the most active one, finding any WG staff post there is much harder than going to your language forum and finding them there... Not to mention how if every language coordinator guy posts 2 posts the list will be filled with non english stuff, meaning that anyone who knows english + his native language will at best have 1-2 posts that matter to him! Or 0 as its usually the case with spam from one language filling it up! List makes absolutely no sense that way... when 5% of people actually understand whats up

2) Why should anyone care what languages are those that you dont understand? So you can go "aaah, so i dont understand THAT language? nice..."... Are you for real? I dont expect anyone to know what language im speaking lol... Why would anyone expect that?

3) He compared random language to random language... why shouldnt he? I dont understand Lithuanian language... yet im supposed to know its Lithuanian without knowing it? It might as well be Burundi and i wouldnt know... Someone might tell me its Burundi when its actually Lithuanian and I wouldnt know... because guess what, i dont understand either(the point of thread title)!!! that is the whole point! Being butthurt that someone doesnt understand your language is very silly indeed!

That doesnt make him an a**hole... its perfectly valid point and makes perfect sense... Its language you and majority dont understand... whatever the language it actually is is irrelevant... I dont know Burundi, i dont know Polish... so it makes no difference to me... yet people are suddenly insulted that someone doesnt know their language and compares it to another random language he doesnt know... LOL

P.S. he probably wouldnt expect someone who doesnt know burundi to know if its burundi or not... at worst would expect wild guess... and at best would figure out he said random language since he doesnt know it... same as in WoW when only me and my friend were online, talking our own language and someone else joined in the middle of it... and he asked is that "random" language... and we didnt get insulted... how is he supposed to know? Its just guesswork... or throwing random language he thinks you also dont know to symbolize how it looks to him

This is an EU forums, for ALL EU players, no matter what language they speak.

3)Being butthurt that someone doesnt understand your language is very silly indeed!     -    So why are you being butthurt about non-EN posts being highlighted...?

1) Irrelevant

2) I dont expect them to understand... English is default language and standard language of the game. Its not MY language... yet i expect it to be standard and to be there. This is EU forums, for all EU players, not just polish ones... standard language should be standard and on front... if you want your language, you go look for it. I do, why cant you? I also feel sorry for others when i see someone saying something in my language somewhere "standard"... or post in my language is on top! Point is... majority will at least understand english post, vast majority wont understand non-english one... as no matter what language you speak, majority can at least understand english... so 80% understanding versus 5% understanding... yay!

3) Because english is the standard and default language... If only english posts are highlighted, vast majority will get the info... if all language posts are highlighted, every highlighted post will reach like 5%-10% of people... and i would guess they dont want that... or do they? Maybe they do... keeping players as noobs is good i guess... Its not like list has "show more" option... its just latest posts... and when polish guy posts 20 times in one day... everything else is lost to everyone except polish people...

@Ectar: cant that wg staff post list be under every forum section, so if i click on english subsection, there to be list of WG staff posts in that subsection only and those that go to polish one see only polish WG staff list? Im sure its not that hard to code... check by user group and subsection...

Here's the list of developer (not WGEU staff) posts from the last 5 months:

http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=user_activity&mid=505202424

However if you want to go on that alone, you wouldn't have heard anything about 0.3.1, nothing about any of the supporting news/articles regarding the update, no answers regarding the aim assist mod, nothing about the CBT gifts, nothing in response to questions regarding pre-order packages, nothing about the CBT release, nothing about the 2nd CBWT, and pretty much nothing about any of the stuff in-game now.

If you don't want to know about any of that stuff, then my best advice to you is to just not read the forums at all, will save you much more time, and you'll know just as much! :D

How is that irrelevant? just because it completely ruins your point as there are a ton of german speakers in the forums? (Quick bit of maths: 43% of the hits on the forums are from the EN section - that's not even half the population... 31% are from the german section... only 10% difference? that's not alot. Hey! maybe we could take the lead of the 2010 british government and form a coalition between the EN and GER forums and have only posts from those two displayed? What's the worst that could happen? :D)

As for having a "standard" language... how is that accommodating for everyone? The classic phrase "everyone's equal, but some are more equal than others" comes to mind... Sure, i can only speak english, and have no idea how to read any other language... But i still understand 99% of the posts i read over the entire forums... I've got a little friend who helps me with that, his name's Frank and he's a spider... You can normally find him on the web over HERE.

And english is by no means a standard and default language... Just please, be kind and thoughtful and realise that not everyone can read or write in english, and it's much easier just for them to write in their native tongue and allow others to translate at will from their original script.
