Well spotted I had not noticed the tail markings were in the French style with the Blue at the front rather than the Red for the British

WG will probably stick a French flag on the ship in next patch and say, Fixed.

However, I found these on the web and am now even more confused...

On the other hand the Flycatcher(?) on this sketch and the Fury here seem to have the red stripe in front...

I think they have the wrong plane there, too - should be a Hawker Osprey unless they did the early version of the ship.

Looks more like a Fairy Flycatcher indeed.

Ok who wants to go to the Fleet Air Arm museum in Yeovil to check with them?

I found a few colourised photos online and they all show the red in front as kindly modelled by the Stringbag in the picture

I'm sorry mate but I refuse to believe that chart.

Only players who grinded really hard or within the last 2 weeks bought the Exeter have ownership of it. Which means that they are likely to be high skill players only who own it. So therefore those stats will be biased towards high damage and victory.

From myself playing it I seem to always over penetrate other cruisers and DD when I use AP and when shooting BB with AP I just get non penetrations. So then I am just shooting HE all game because I can score more damage. But the ironic thing is that I could probably deal more damage per minute with the Emerald than what I can with the Exeter due to the Exeters 15 second reload and mediocre penetration on its main guns.

British aircraft had the vertical RWB on the tail and the roundels since WW1 to help the French identify it as a friendly aircraft.

Yeah but the point is it's BWR in this case and some pictures on the internet seem to confirm it as correct? :Smile_amazed:

It looks like the RAF (in this case Fleet Air Arm) use both order of the colors during time

Eww, Hawkins. Danae with 1904 model guns and no torpedoes. Good luck with that.

Wiki says it's BWR (same order as the RAF roundel) where there are painted tail surfaces and RWB on the fin flash (the small rectangle on the Swordfish photo above).

It seems RWB fin flash became standard in late 1940 and was BWR before and in WW1...so I guess this is acceptable for the biplane to have <1939 markings.

Well, maybe you should check MY stats then... nobody can accuse me of being "high skill"... :Smile_trollface:

Spoiler

Total random games:

But... since I usually division with my son (DD main):

8585697_Exeterdiv2.JPG.6666c29c34d97b70963e9f916bdc782a.JPG

And... no I am not a cruiser main... I play mostly BBs (and lately carriers, too).

And I'm definitely quite average at everything.

Here's what it is like compared to other T5 cruisers that I played.

Total in randoms:

....and total in division. Solid #1 at >70%.

The 'trick' is not to expect hitting anything good at max range. At close range (< 10k) you aim carefully for the citadel of cruisers.

BBs you usually cannot pen their citadel unless they are very close... but you CAN pen their superstructure and anything that is NOT a citadel.

Mind that AP will NOT work on anything angled - no matter BB or cruiser. But if you get a flat side... hell yeah!

The HE is great for everything else. But remember it is a glass cannon - you'll do better if you do not play the HERO at the start.

Or... maybe you DO play the hero - I always follow my DD-main divmate. And then I shoot everything that prevents him from capping.

Mind the angling... and watch when to move... BBs (especially the fat higher tier ones) will pen you and delete you and it doesn't matter much how you angle.

two bits of advice for you - don't pay for an Exeter and be careful which advice you heed on forums.
