How long do players normally spend on this game?

I find that say after two hours I am physically drained, if I even last that long, yet I do have a buddy who plays WoT's for like 10 or more at a time, maybe better to play with a few beers?

If it would be more enjoyable, id play more. Back when i started, i could play several hours. Now its usually 3-4 games. mostly have to quit because my blood pressure might pop something in my brain :cap_haloween:

If we are talking about how demanding it is, depends really on the individual battle. Sometimes not so much, sometimes it hits you right away and you start shaking because of the hardcarry :cap_tea:

Alcohol definitely helps. And with measured use, I observed even slightly better results in battes.

I play on average most days maybe 4 to 5 battles. Just enough to unwind after the day. 2 hours max really. Weekends not so much as the teams are much worse I have found on weekends. Looking at my stats I average 30 to 40 battles a week ish

I vary teirs. I've been having lot of fun in T4 recently. I have no pressure to wi  or carry. If teams are bad it's to be expected, they are learning tiers. I compliment good play in chat and give advice to those who make "questionable" choices. I managed 33 games in a day the other just by varying my tiers, solo and division.

Yeah same, well...not physically drained, just mentally. After a few rounds I notice I lose focus and that is when I usually stop playing. I've no idea how the streamers for example play for hours on end, pressing "battle" right after their current one finished. It is actually amazing imo.

A year or two back I played the entire day, game after game, but these days my motivation to do that is zero.

Same here.....i usually go for a couple of matches in the premium CV's now to get quick credits and XP, get the daily chests for coal and oil and call it a day.

I feel kind of "tied" to farming XP because i want that Yamamoto and Halsey commander and i do not want to wait. It was the same when WG announced they would remove the Mushashi and there is always something to grind under time pressure because it will be removed or is offered within limited time. I went out of my way  for the Exeter, now it is floating in port not being used at all ( should have been a T6 for operations ) and i almost sold it off a couple of times for the port slot.....that is how usefull some grinds are, in the end.

Lately however the limited time grinds WG offers are not that attractive to me anymore, i have difficulty to understand why one would buy chests that drop TECH TREE SHIPS anyway, as you have all the time in the world to aquire them later on. Same goes for the Premium ships that COULD be in them, the RU ones are junk ! I want that RU commander, but the ships ? Meh.

But despite the grinding i sometimes see beautiful and inspiring play by individuals that molded captain skills and modules in a ship that perform differently and their playstyle is matching their chosen specialisation. These are not the stat maximising zombies but players that actually...play !

These inspire me to examine what they did and how they use it. The game is not dead to me yet because all those other skills no one ever takes actually have purpose that can change boring ships into specialised ones. F#ck mandatory builds, F#ck stat maximising play......i want to enjoy the game, players that do inspire me to do the same.

Week days closer to the weekend, a few games to unwind. Actual weekends more games depending on what else to do. If bored, more games. 1-2 hours at one go seems reasonable.

Over the week about 1 or max. 2 hours per day, more or less. On weekends - depending on the weather a little more

What sorts are recommended ? Bourbon ? Scotch ? Maybe Single Malt ? :-)

Depends, sometimes I can spend a whole afternoon or evening playing, on other occasions I juse click around in port without even starting a game or just doing a few rounds. For me it is also the mental exhaustion or when you really have to admit that your current session is just a bad streak in terms of teams, rng, etc. that stop me from continuing.

An addiotional thing I observed is that I play longer when others are around. While playing alone, my sessions turn out to be much shorter. "Shared suffering is half the suffering" as the saying goes.

Alcohol sometimes makes it easier but it can just as quickly prolong the agony too....

Whatever you like. The goal is to simply help you unwind and heighten your tolerance levels.

For instance lately I get very agitated even in the first battle of the session when I see my team throwing it. After a couple of beers, you might play a little more daring, care a bit less about what your team does and move on to other battles. I find that makes a session usually more enjoyable and helps keep blood pressure lower (definitely lower than when you start jumping up, shouting at the screen and running madly around your house - whih may have happened to me quite a few times...).

I used to pull all nighters, and when the online player count was so low; only then I'd log out.

But now, I have a lesser stamina or patience with the game. I think this is primarily due to that fact that the "new toy" concept have now become an "old toy". Essentially, the novelty have died off.  As for new Premium ships, I'm not really interested. I'm more interested in the tech tree ships themselves. It gives a longevity for the game, and a goal for me to achieve. Rather than just taking a short cut to a ship.

Nowadays, I spend an average 2 hours if I'm able. Specially with the Ranked season now, I would spend more.

My average has been quite steady 200 battles a month, so about 7 each days. On weekends it can be as high as 15, but definitely not without breaks. In general, I find it pretty difficult to spend a day without playing... It's just a strong part of the daily routine, the lady approves, and it doesn't really interfere with anything too important.

I do spend about a month or two each year out of country so that I can't play. The funny thing is, when not at home I don't miss the game at all. But when I come back, I  not only find it very enjoyable and play much better than usual. Breaks are good!

And as already stated, alcohol definitely can help.I play the game to unwind, and it's all the better with one or two drinks -- any more than that hurts your stats, I think.
