Siegfried is a Cruiser, and it has 6x2 380mm guns :fish_book:

There are its stats. Probably to be found in the english section aswell, but forum search dropped this as first link :Smile-_tongue:

I am looking forward to her.

If WG stays in this direction with the ship, she could be fun.

could certainly be interesting. Curious about the armour scheme - particularly how good the turtleback/citadel layout is.

Maybe a potential rival to the stalingrad?

I doubt that. She is a Tier lower and does not have railguns from the future.

Seriously though, doubtful. Unless the reload gets buffed to 20s she will just be a Gneisenau that traded the BB icon and "accuracy" for the joy of facing Conquerors, Republiques, Midways and Hakus. Even then she will still look weakish unless the armor scheme is nothing short of a Moskva.

She has 380 mm guns, which are by all means BB Guns but she also has BB Reload. Then she only has 6 guns total which is also quite a handicap compared to the other "Superheavy Cruisers" (I refuse to call them Battlecruisers because they are not) like Alaska, Kronstadt etc.

Sure 380mm with Cruiser Accuracy sounds nice but we need to remember that all of the Superheavy Cruisers have "Cruiser Accuracy" and more guns to work with which are also not really that much smaller Caliber.

We have allready a great couple of ships to compare in the game. The Scharnhorst and Gneisenau. Both have BB Accuracy and so they are quite comparable. No Scharnhorst player would trade their Scharnhorst for the Gneisenau (even if both were Premium), doesnt matter if the Gneis has higher Caliber. The players prefer having more guns.

I expect the ship to have very good armor, maybe even the best armor among the Superheavy Cruisers. I also expect this not to be that big of a deal, since the lack of guns will probably compensate for it.

I am curious how she will turn out though. I hope it will be a good ship, it certainly looks good.

i would in an instant trade Scharns guns for Gneisenaus. Both are Shotguns, but the 380's can at least citadel anything bigger than a cruiser.

Speak for yourself. I'd take Gneisenau over Scharnhorst most of the time.

Tell that to those who constantly say that the Scharnhorst is the better of the two. I did not pull this out of my behind, I just "deliver" what I have heard in forums, reviews etc. over and over and over.

And speaking for myself, I enjoyed the Gneisenau but had a Winrate of 45% in her (compared to 54% winrate overall). I dont have the Scharnhorst but I can tell you allready that I would trade the Bayern at Tier 6 for the Gneisenau.

the making or breaking of this ship will be how hard it is hit by german dispersion and if the turtle back means anything

If it gets german cruiser dispersion, I'm sold.

This ship will be very hard to balance.

We have 380 mm guns on couple of t9 ships. And they have more guns + more armor + more HP + reloadbooster (one of them)

So to compensate this lack in number of guns this ship should have much much greater reload (not gonna happen) or precision. And they announced it will be 6 more precise guns. It is 30% less than Alsace so rought math says it should have 20-30 better precision.

So in reality what could happen if you have 6 very precise guns with 380 caliber guns.  OP ship. Or if they are not so precise you have just bad ship.

Wg will not be able to balance it and in the end this will be crap ship. Overnerfed in the end or shitty in beginning. But IRS final status will be - Mehdi bote

Wow... you are the first, that has the same opinion as i have. Been talking about, that Siegfried with Cruiser dispersion will be OP, and basicly everybody says "no its not"

Ships are not binary. You cannot set them up to only be OP or weak. Especially with something like dispersion you can tweak them infinitivly.

Problem is that wg does not tweak. It uses hammer.

You have strong ship. Let's say Chinese tx dd.....hammer time....nobody uses it anymore :)

they (historicaly) have hard time balancing strange projects. Giulio Cesare or old Saipan anybody? :)

they end up OP to hell or ussles.

I do not know how to buff 6 380 guns on cruiser to be competitive in TX games except giving them laser precision. And than you have Stalingrad with less guns but 380 mm. If you give it worst than cruiser dispersion you have crapship

The amount of data required to infinitely tweak a gun to every possible dispersion setting would require infinite memory so you cannot tweak them infinitely. Since no infinite hard drives exist.

UM yes you can, make them OP on release sell loads then later down the line nerf it simple. Easy money.

Alsace has 12 guns. So it's 50% of the guns of Alsace.

If you meant Jean Bart, she has 8 guns, so it's actually 25% less.

Pick your choice :Smile-_tongue:

That is their problem, but they could als guess right...

Strange, I see Nobody quite often in the YY...
