You CV players have most, if not all the better cards in a battle, and WE are the whiners? Well just checked your stats on your 19000+ battles and i see why you are so frustrated about CVs. Not talking about your mediocre WR or PR stats but the ships you play. I'm sure you enjoyed your Nelson more without any planes in the sky, right?

And having only 330 tier X battles out of 19k+ and none of those in a carrier makes any of your further hate towards CV players kinda pointless.

According to me, I'm not even a CV player i just like the rework. Feel free to check my stats on any type of ships and you'll see they are quite even. I have no bigger issues playing against CVs than before rework. The only difference now is you meet CV in every game instead of 1 out of 10.

If you would have tried (since i see you haven't) CVs are not as easy to play as it may look like if you really want to be effective. CVs always been the ones who brings biggest impact into match, DDs comes after if there are no CVs. They still remain like this but with less skills demanded than before.

People forgot how skilled CV player could take down a full hp battleship with a single attack before rework...

A few things to consider here though - players have to have at least 200 battles to be able to play ranked in general. They will only get rentals for the shipclass they play on Tier VIII - so they have an idea about how to play their ship class and they met plenty of Tier X ships while playing Tier VIII. We made several changes for Update 0.8.4 when it comes to efficiency of CVs vs. DDs and will monitor the situation there.

Boy, you are way too arrogant and think that you can overcome all your real world shortcomings by having good stats in a shittier and shittier video game. 

 

This game started as a tactical one. CVs nowadays are everywhere and ruin the strategy and fun of the normal ships. Period. 

 

If you like planes so much, go play world of warplanes. It is not good enough for you? Adapt!!! Don't whine and adapt! You, as a player, don't get to decide what is fun and what is not. WG decides the meta. 

 

You are talking like those players in WoT who only play clickers. I have fun clicking them, the rest of the player base can go f... themselves. The same with CVs. This is what you have said. I don't think I have to write here my real thoughts about people like you in wows and wot. It is pretty obvious I don't whine about you, I simply want you to dissappear.

Since some WG employes read this topic: do you plan to buff Khabarovsk and Z-52 ?

 

Compared to Harugumo and Daring they are really out-of-date now. Khaba needs range and 10km torps back, Z-52 needs everything.

It's like with any animal that is not able to adapt - they extinct.

Meanwhile I even see great counterplay from DDs in the Randoms. Recently it seems more and more stealth torp boats sneak through and kill misspositioned/careless CVs...

(who think everything will be spotted anyway and there is no danger...). I play all classes - CVs a lot less though - and actually must say it improved a lot the recent weeks and I feel fine.

(two Tier 8 CVs per Team in a T6-T8 MM as exception - that is bollocks).

 

For ranked I guess an AA speced Gearing (Flak Module, Def AA, BFT, maybe even Manual AA instead of RPF) with legendary module might perform well. 2.5km Air-detection with legendary module - hard to spot.

Sectors aligned and AA on just right before you are spotted - Def AA on Rockets - CVs will have a hard time and also waste quite some time searching and finding the DD, aligning Drops etc.

Also made good experience with Brit DDs and their short ever available smokes. Positioning rules... CVs also reduce the power of Stalis and punish stationary camper BBs.

 

New Meta, New Tactics, New Teamplay...we will see...

 

What really would worry me though is if CV Play becomes THE method to keep a star as someone put it on a forum earlier. Sailing to the map boarder, farming damage till the end, always last surviving, shooting down planes, re-setting caps -> always first on XP list. If this proves to be true - there might be endless waiting queues for CVs and real frustrations for all the others. I hope non-CVs get good XP from shooting down planes?

 

Its only my 4th ranked season (Sprints not counting) - but what I learned:

Ranked is tough - and not everyone can nor shall reach prime league let alone rank one.

 

In Rank Sprints you could statistically be well below 50% WR and easily reach rank one due the huge amount of bonus stars.

For the real Ranked Season - if you have a below 52% WR in Randoms....well - dont expect to make it to the high ranks if you do not significantly improve...

All plans regarding ships are announced in advance on our DEV BLOG.
I don't think there will by any changes to Khaba and Z-52 in the nearest future.

Everything is working perfect since 0.8.0, players just rush in to WoWs; just to mention legendary modul for Haku&Midway of course are able to be installed on ships, achievements for earning AA flags are here too and easy to fulfill; and few patches later of this spectacular CV rework era, which lucky to community is still going on, we get ranked.

With amazingly reworked CVs as part of it.

And rental TX ships.

 

@WG_Lumberjack@Crysantos but why this heaven on earth isn't allowing rented CVs?

Dude - this is WG, they can do anything  because reasons..... Not putting CV's in would result in a loss of face (more than normal at least), great ideas, flawed implementation's, the ONLY thing WG gives a crap about is income.....  the constant rework over CV's is a repeat of the Graf Zepplin fiasco, on a larger scale.... knee jerk reactions to fixing badly thought through "strategy & direction".... ad nausea......

 

Life is choices,....... and these people either loose things in translation or just "choose" not to listen or learn unless it supports what they want......

 

Your point's are valid, sensible, that's why WG will NEVER get it.......

The AA still works as indended - this is not a technical fix, it's more about how the economy is calculated based on damage applied per plane instead of planes destroyed in the future. I know you disagree with the CV gameplay personally but the gameplay isn't a public test. We're confident that the changes we're applying to 0.8.4 are going to help with the difficulty for DDs significantly and the future changes we're aiming for have been outlined in the DevBlog recently.

So you understand and acknowledge that carriers create the blob meta, with no flanking or active play, and your what fine with it? You think its a good thing?

We are aware of the effect that carriers can have, just as we are aware of the impact of other classes, like a lonely DD would have on a flank if he isn't spotted. Flanking of lonely ships is more difficult in a competitive mode - just as it was beforehand in any other ranked season with CVs, where they could pick attack you with several squadrons at the same time or spot anything that moved away from the heavy AA cruisers. But it is still possible and as usual competitive modes require teamplay to counter several things - from being outspotted, flanked, harassed by a DD, etc. We'll see how this season turns out and it'll obviously help us to finetune the balance where needed.

Actually, then i have a request for you. After this ranked season, publish all the detailed stats you collected for full transparency, so that the community can see exactly what the current state of carriers is.

 

I assume that you collect stats such as: Average battles for each class/ship to get to rank 1, average saved stars by ship class, average winrate by ship class, surviviability, spotting etc etc etc. Much more interesting things to look at than the stats that we, the community have access to, and since its wargaming stats, we can get the stats weighted against player skill, and get skill curves.

 

Make all the detailed stats collected from that ranked season public, that way, atleast we can see that something good came out of ruining this ranked season, and id actually be perfectly fine with it.

Please Crysantos cut the bull****.

 

Stop comparing the previous Ranked season with RTS CVs to this one like they had the same impact to flankers or lonelier ships.

 

If you do want to compare RTS CV impact on previous Ranked Season and the game meta then make sure to account for 1) Defensive Fire panic which is no longer a thing and even more importantly 2) the Opponent CV's ability to counterplay with Fighters and finally 3) AA ranges which actually made ship to ship cover effective.

 

DF as a function alone gave the option to a big number of ships to perform as flankers including some of the DDs.

 

So once again please if you are going to insult our intelligence it's better to just not say anything at all.

Other ranked seasons were only bearable because there barely were any CV players.

I watched the queue at Rank5+ last T10 ranked season. The moment 2 CVs entered, everyone left to come back with Worcesters and Minotaurs. Nobody wants to be a non-AA ship in a CV game. It's miserable. It's not fun.

 

But thanks to the blobs ("mutual cover") and denial of stealth it's not fun for anyone. It's static and boring in an already very static game mode.

hmmm, on this topic, i wonder if it would be possible to create a bot which presses "play", checks if there are cvs in queue, if there are any, instantly leave the queue, wait 5 seconds, repeat.

 

Basically a seperate program, or even a mod that evades carrier matches. Please modmakers, get on it :Smile_honoring:

So CV aren't balanced for Randoms even, but we will have peanuts in rentable ones now not to mention ranked season are always abit of a joke ...but lets throw in every t10 to rent as well………..I have no idea what the development team is up too but they relay are trying to force feed us this nonsense aren't they ……….. is it relay that complicated to understand that people play the game, slowly grind part of the grinding process is learning how to play a game better and get skilled before reaching the top tier. It really is only a matter of time before we just sell all tech tree ships for a fast buck before this game collapses under its own idiocy. Ranked season has always been more of a battle with frustration than the enemy now u throw in cv that will clearly ruin ranked like they already ruin most Randoms ( unless u of course play cvs ) and half ur team will be made up by players with no idea how to even play their ships since they never even had them before ranked , wonder how mnay he spaming ifhe survivability expert BBs we have the joy of playing with and against ….. maybe u could just sell R1 for say 100 euro's save the potatoes some time spamming 1k games doing it and save some of us our sanity . CVs weren't included in CWs for a reason or have we changed the development team since then? this tiny nerf they are receiving in the new patch will have little or no effect on how annoying and the strategic power they hold ...so a dd might get marginally closer before the spam starts ,how nice ! and ur entire team will be spotted a few seconds later XD ...how exactly can u have any kind of stratigc play if everyone is spotted 30 seconds after the  game starts plz feel free to explain ...because I don't understand . IT is relay starting to feel that what u want this game to become is 2 blobs of ships sat at range shooting at other blobs of ships until one dies ...no skill no strategy everyone having fun spamming each other ..basically a kids game that a 5 year old could quickly learn to play …………. The biggest irony is some maps have been changed in the past because certain ships struggled to be effective, but you  have negated any changes u made by revamping  a class that at least once took a high  lvl of skill to do very well in ..but now offers the ability to any crayon eater no matter how horrifically he plays to do stead dmg and keep entire teams spotted all game ,all them cruisers that rely of stealth to move in for close support, battleships that try to angle and tank or dds attempting to cap all have one hard counter ...contestant spotting and good luck with any kid on angling wile u fight since u have a choice face the fight tank the dmg and let a cv torp ,rocket or bomb u endlessly ( especially when the cv manages to get in close to the fight which it inevitably will do in a game like ranked as map control is lost or gained, the cv can just throw 1 strike and cycle endlessly with near no chance of ever losing many planes)   or make the stupid attempt to dodge cvs torps get cited by enemies and have ur dmg con on CD continually …. sry I was incorrect ona point there cvs cant be rented .

I understand your point of view and you are right, of course both can't be compared 1:1 - the same applies for the kind of damage application by CVs and to planes.

We will see how population numbers for each of the classes are going to affect the ranked season and work with the results from this. But the meta always depends on what players pick - the same happens when other classes are popular and players adapt with their ship choices, especially with such specific modes as ranked.
