And Salem fits the bill just fine, in not beating "super cruisers" in survivability due to lol heal.

There was no super Alaska...

We all know WG has 'Sekret dacuments' and no problem making paper ships, so its pretty hard to say for sure.

Nothing has been confirmed, so don't expect anything. But in one Q&A we got this from S_O.

CA-2d.PNG.4546e278a84d8f89b59800e38b570f1f.thumb.png.7305c506d61b89ab42c22bc42d5171ed.png

CA2-D is basically a 4x3 305 mm gun design, so Mini-Montana. Assuming the ship keeps in Alaska's tradition, it'd actually be quite promising, given:

  • Alaska is very well-balanced premium that has clear strengths, weaknesses, is comfortable to play at T9 and not redefining any meta.
  • CA2-D would have a clear distinction from any other T10 supercruiser as well as Des Moines, making none of the others obsolete, while potentially contributing something useful.

Thus, even without putting too much trust into vague statements by WG employees, one can at least say that CA2-D has a chance of appearing at some point due to being a premium that would require not too much effort on WG's behalf to get right, given you could really just take the Alaska concept and replicate it at T10 with an added gun turret and (maybe) minor buffs (improving 28 mm upper belt to 30 mm, more AA, T10 radar duration) without creating a monstrosity or some Azuma-style debacle of what to do with that turd.

  • Cool 1

What would it be called? Hawaii? Does it follow CA or BB naming conventions?

Looks great by the way, I'd be all over that.

Chances are it would follow the same convention as the Alaskas and be named after a US-territory. (Alaska and Hawaii weren't states yet in WW2)

CB were named by territories not states. Any of four names for canceled Alaska Class is option: Hawaii, PhilippinesPuerto Rico or Samoa
