PSA: Wichita and Montpelier Radar range issue

Captains,

Due to a technical error in update 0.8.3, the Radar range of USN premium cruisers Montpelier and Wichita changed to 10 km instead of correct and intended 9 km. This will be fixed in update 0.8.4, as we specifically reworked all Radar ranges for all ships to be systematic, and would like to avoid any inconsistencies. While we've tested Montpelier with the correct range all the way until her release (and Wichita was originally released with the correct range), we value your trust in us above all and want to own up to our mistakes.

Thus, all purchases with Montpelier and Wichita in Premium shop made after update 0.8.3 and until 23:59 UTC, May 3, can be fully refunded. The refund will be available until 23:59 UTC, May 31. To claim it, please file a ticket to Customer Support. We apologize for any possible inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

Best regards,

Your World of Warships Team

Offering a refund is good but only posting it in the forum seems like a way to reduce the number of those refunds by making the announcement where <10% of players will see it. If you aren't planning to put up a news article on the website frontpage where it will be visible in the launcher, please do so.

Mailing buyers about issue is also valid option.

Oh yes, certainly. Though I would add the caveat that such mails won't forewarn prospective buyers, unless they just mail everyone of course.

We will of course also be contacting people who purchased it during the eligibility period for refunds with a direct message, but we always want to offer the opportunity to discuss these matters on the forums as well!

So after 0.8.4 will the Montpelier be a Cleveland with worse DPM? No other differencies?

Better accuracy. It's not how much you shoot. It's how much you hit.

The difference in accuracy is negligible.

So is the ROF. (7%)

It doesn't matter how good your DPM is if you can't shoot straight.

You're talking as if Cleveland had issues hitting enemies. 2.15 dispersion vs 2.0 dispersion is basically a joke.

So is complaining about 0.5 seconds.

No, because 7% dpm is an actual difference. Montpelier actually has less HE dpm than the Helena or 155 Mogami, while Cleveland beats both.

Variation is good and the error is pretty minor so I say leave them as is :)
