I said "as long as you don't get nuked by CVs", not "as long as no CV is present". Had some games with Yukikaze, one was a CV game. CV did exactly 0 damage and lost 2 planes to my AA (how?). Sadly radar cruiser was more competent.

And while t10 torps on Kagero might sound awesome, I still don't think it's a viable combination. DDs need an escape route and this gets trickier with CVs, often forcing you to engage at longer distance - and 8km range just lacks flexibility to allow that.

 

IMO too you need at least 10 km range with 10-12 being perhaps optimal. I don't run the maximum 20km range some configurations would allow for on any of my torpedo build DD's. I have tried out the 8km torps myself, with rather poor results. They may work in a knife fight or possibly when the enemy ships are headed in your direction (in which case you can fire them while your target is still outside their maximum range).

I love that port and i would love to see it permanently just a little bit serious. Like a model stand in a museum under a lights or in a Revell hobby model workshop. I hope there are more people who like this port like me so we can make it trught. Cheers mates.

Well, prices set aside i'm disappointed that Yukikaze "the lucky ship" as been released as such an uninspired and uninteresting premium. This really feels like a big missed opportunity, they could've given it literally any other name and it wouldn't have made a difference, that's how copypasta this premium is.

Well I did buy the Yukikaze... not because it's such a good premium DD, cause it's not!
But I wanted it in port.
So I did buy the bundle including the 2 containers....
Hoped for a German or a France captain..... or at the least not all Japanese.
But 100% of the same..... (not even different Japs) 
AL Yukikaze, AL Yukikaze and AL Yukikaze !
Well done WG... this really made me buy some more... Uhh. NOT !

While I was looking for gathering additional captains, the price is IMHO a bit *khm* steep. 

And the Armada bundle is ... bit too much. 

 

If I were to buy what I'd like, I'd have to dish out like 200€ , thank you but no thank you.

Hmm.. was just in a winning battle where the Yukikaze on our team topped the results with 2k+.   Tier 8 battle with tier 6 carriers so... it's all very situational.

I mean, it's not that you can't do well. Just, it's an uphill battle and you might often find it rather frustrating. Personally, bought Yukikaze as part of the bundle and knowing what to expect, I'm just having a nice time memeing around. First game, torped a Mino that smoked up, nuked a Z-46 that thought its hydro could allow it to rush me down. Underestimating F3 torp speed. Overall, it's not a good ship, but also not completely hopeless. I take it over the Asashio though, in which I wouldn't have been able to pull either of these stunts. Also, it should be kept in mind, something like a Lightning also has to work with 8 km torps only.

 

And heck, if you get a top tier game, who cares about the 8 km range when there's no radar. Then you can just enjoy throwing F3s out that most people have real trouble to dodge.

8k short range torps on a T8 DD in the current CV/Radar meta is not worth it. Not on a T8 level DD, worst tier levels of all for a DD to play at with only 8k torps. Should have been given 10k torps at least to make it interesting to buy

Disappointingly overpriced and inflexible bundles.

 

I am not sure whether the greed that inspired this selection stems from WG or Yostar but I hardly see any reason to be excited by this or any future collaboration if the results are anything like what we have here.

 

It can hardly even be considered an event, you don't really take part in this, you just buy your content. Sure there is a free Azuma, port and some flags, a collection to distract you for a short time, but that's all.

Isn't it about time WG stopped keep pumping out premium ship after premium primarily for the USA. Yet another one for the them in this Anime collection, the Cruiser for sale. Try giving the USA a rest with premium ships for once and release some for other nations also. Do they not already have enough premium ships listed up for sale?

Yeah, noticed they have an anime captain for Nelson. But you have to buy the bungle of other captains that come with it also just to get 1 you might have wanted, the others being useless to you if you don't play them ships. They should have sold them "separate also + with special flag for that ship included". To get the flag included in the captain bundles now, you have to pay the even bigger price that's way over the odds. Getting too greedy!

I don't know; I do actually have Avrora and Admiral Hipper on Kronshtadt and Prinz Eithel Friedrich respectively. Timing was good for a mission chain that let me earn them as I needed a Russian/Soviet captain for the former ship to help me earn the latter ship, which would then also need a captain. But taking a look at the news pages for monthly missions I can't find that mission chain now.

 

I think you might be right though, that Avrora was Aurora before, but given that I spelt "Huanghe" as "Huang He" it seems my memory of spellings is not that good.
