I doubt you make many players happy with bundles of random captains that can give you fivetimes+ the same captain...

If WG would really care, than they wouldn't  put them in gacha crates. If they would really care, they would sell the AL captains separate and not in a bundle with stuff, that I don't need for double the price.

Harekaze is a premium where WG actually took the proper approach of reducing torpedo power and buffing the gun power, resulting in a versatile DD that now can even lay the hurt on cruisers and BBs with those IJN 10 cm and leaves behind the crappy niche of IJN DDs that leaves much to be desired in reliability. As a result, Harekaze is likely one of the strongest T8 DDs in existence and as long as you don't get nuked by CV, a ship that will generally have a tool for any situation.

Yukikaze meanwhile is a Kagero that replaces the good Kagero torps with 8 km F3 meme torps. The torps aren't bad. If you get to use them, they are pretty lulz, but you play this ship for memes, not to reliably carry games.

 

Both have nice camo though.

I am also looking for reviews and they are not encouraging...  One of the concerns I have are the 8km torpedoes only. I have tried out those torps in my Shima with very very negative results.

Are you out of your minds? 9€ for a RANDOM captain, getting a ~95% chance to get the one one actually wants literally costs in the hundreds.

I remember that the first wave AL commanders could be bought separately instead of in these super overpriced bundles.

I suppose giving players free choice and just buy what they want didn't make them enough money so they have to sell them in complete packs with ridiculous prices.

I like azur lane and planned to support WG by buying commanders, but after seeing that sale, i am highly dissapointed.

Question: what am I missing about the Yukikaze? It appears to be about five UK pounds over-priced compared to similar T8 DDs; for comparison, the Montpelier seems to be there, or thereabouts, when compared to other T8 cruisers.

 

As far as I can tell, Yukikaze is (essentially) a Kagero, with odd torps; am I missing some aspect that justifies the somewhat higher price than its peers?

 

+1 to the feeling that the AL captains should have been sold singly too.

No, you are missing nothing. The camouflage is nice-looking and the ship cannot equip TRB.

Also remember that some CC got 15 premium Azur Lane containers for free (some didn't even knew that), they have all the rights in the world to get some premium containers for free (they are Community Contributors, so it's fair), but come on WG, sure, you can get 2 captains for free, but for someone that maybe wanted let's say Prinz Eugen, or another captain (fortunately they are not unique captains), he remains really disappointed.

 

This is not how you keep players buying your stuff.

It is overprized underpowered premium DD. Wouldn´t recommend, especially not in this meta and even when the meta changes without any buffs or strong debuffs of other ship, this ship is not worth to buy in comparison to other destroyers on tier 8.

The free part is nice - but the "selling" part seems... underwhelming. I mean, the prices are anything BUT underwhelming. The options available, on the other hand...

 

I must admit, I hoped to see AL commanders in the Armory. Instead they are not just a "shop only" thing - they are sold only in extremely bloated bundles or in extremely pricey containers that don't even guarantee a unique captain (you can literally get another Azuma every single time). And the containers can't be purchased in Armory too, only for cash, so you can't "burn" your extra doublons on this lottery, you need to spend extra. Although, admittedly, it could've been worse - they could've made it a complete lottery by selling cheaper containers with merely a CHANCE of getting a captain - at the very least they had the minimum of decency to avoiding that model as the only non-bundle way of acquiring the paid commanders...

Yeah... while I personally disagree that torpboats died in CV-heavy (as in, actually featuring CVs :D ) meta, the high tier short-range torps actually did imo die. I must admit I preferred 12km torps on Shima anyway, but I acknowledged that 8km ones can be viable. With all the CVs? No way, no way in hell.

And while t10 torps on Kagero might sound awesome, I still don't think it's a viable combination. DDs need an escape route and this gets trickier with CVs, often forcing you to engage at longer distance - and 8km range just lacks flexibility to allow that.
