So, what are the strong points of soviet battleships in the game - if japan is range, Germany is close etc, what do the Russian ships bring to the table and what are their handicaps?

Close range, but without secondaries, but with good HE protection.

It would be nice if we could have a Tier II Russian BB. Retvizan, Tsesarevich or Slava would be fun... the latter especially as it took on some in-game ships (Konig)

So a bit like the mid tier American sort of ships, with shotgun attacks?

No, with extremly accurate guns at closer ranges.

@MrConway I have to give you credit for not having butchered Gangut with some fantasy rebuilding sh*** like Kaiser. Leaves  the question: when do you fix Kaiser and König and give them proper hulls?

As far as I am aware: two.

- Tsushima

- Doggerbank incident (1904)

The first one being a harsh defeat - the second one ... well look it up :Smile_hiding:

on the other hand: we can joke all day long about it but the more important question really is: are these ships balanced. I can perfectly live with such a full-fantasy line unless they the make them OP for patriotic reasons

We should remove the Tirpitz.

What about some non-fantasy, i.e., REAL Italian Battleships! Isn't it about time?

Well, there are already two of them In-game. If you are in a hurry for more ask the Italians why they made it so difficult for WG to access to the archives for so long.

Second, these real Italian battleships did what in the war? Hide, hide, run away, hide, surrender.*

Third point: this section is about the Russian/Soviet ships.

*ofc someone will point out that Italy had fuel shortages, political complications etc and the Italians are not guilty of this. Valid point. But the SU was attacked on a front of 100s of kilmoeters. SU stopped all naval projects to build tanks and save the country - but that´s ofc not a valid point.

Oh hey, let´s also call for the REAL Italian carrier Aquila!

Obviusly during the 2015/2020 italian congress in wich every 60 million fellow citizens we met at the coloseum and we all said that WG Lesta should not have our precious blueprints

For those of us overseas the ballot came with two options of no to select. Just to be safe we received it on Saturday with a due date of Sunday. I'm looking at you consulate in Houston. :Smile-_tongue:

Or the reality is that WG only made one very quick trip recently for a short amount of time that we know of. WG admitted to being late to working on Italian ships. And has very oddly declared lack of high tier options even though several high tier Russian ships are based off Italian plans. And other high tier ships are based off napkin doodles?? :cap_book:

This is after being warned for years that making a quick trip to the archives wouldn't work. As well as the need to look at material from other sources if it has survived all the mergers or been kept by families(ex: Bonfiglietti carrier project). Shockingly WG finds out a quick trip to the archives didn't work.  Everyone forgets WG pulled this trick with the UK MoD and hey its the Italians. Applying common sense and judging Italians? Pffft. It's the Italians fault!!

If only WGEU hadn't pissed off Steffsap before he passed away. You know the guy who published a book on the Impero conversion project and brought us information on the 1939 destroyer project and many other things on his wonderful website. :cap_old:
