How do you like latest "Space Battle" mode "Torpedo Beat"?

 

IMHO it is funniest, quickest and most adrenaline filled battle mode that WG ever made... :Smile_great:

I like the mode better than the game itself apparently does - it's quite apparent at multiple points that the engine can't really handle it, particularly with the guns being unable to hit a ship that's going anywhere near full speed. But otherwise, it's good fun :Smile_izmena:

Loads of fun but gets boring rather quickly. Agree with @DFens_666 they should keep it in game for occasionally relaxation from randoms.

I found the guns frequently didnt fire.

 

Took manual secondaries and AFT and BFT for a joke.

-Target selected

-Target in range

-Target in gun arc

-Guns pointing at target

-Firing? Maybe, sometimes. Maybe not.

my impression was that that had to do with traverse - i.e. when your ship does its crazy turns (which, again, the engine isnt designed to handle), it thinks it can't keep the guns on target despite pretty much infinite traverse speed on the turrets, so they dont fire.

Seems like that should have been noticed during testing, since these issues make the SpaceGearing essentially worthless (hey, your ship gets the best guns! except they dont actually work half the time, and when they do they dont hit :cap_like:), but...

It is hilarious, so much fun! But as many people saying the guns seems to suffer from the secondary mechanics problem i.e missing so much due to targets speed, only time they work decent is when chasing someone at 1-2 km. 

 

Agree that this is best april mode after bathtub which also had torpedo spam! :crab:

 

I wonder what mechanic they are testing with this mode. We all know these are hidden tests of new ideas....

I love it, just the distraction I needed from randoms at the moment.

 

Keep it in the game, maybe as a PT boat mini game?

It's hilarious! Especially if you div up with a couple of friends. Sure it can get a bit repetitive but I see it more of an entertaining 'filler' between randoms - the games  are so short anyways. Oh, and the cheesy Euro trash soundtrack! brilliant :Smile_veryhappy:

Took Manual secondaries on the Z52 copy and after that they didnt fire a shot even when i have a target selected.

Meanwhile the Gearing is blazing away for a MasterBlaster award (works best when chasing)

Yea, I like it too. Maybe there are some things that could be learnt from this mode.

 

I'm 20 Ironium short of a LM though... any chance of getting those missing.. ..or is it supposed to be just out of reach...? :cap_hmm:
