Nautical_metaphor, the user who created the "Social Justice Warships" thread, was banned for 14 days from this forum, apparently for trolling.

He probably should have done his homework before posting the thread that sharing real life personal info of any kind is against the forum guidelines.

Please elaborate. What kind of "personal information"?

I personally haven't bothered to check but his poll the participants had to fill with real names and such.

You mean the online petition?

That site lets you choose if your personal info is publicly displayed or not.

Getting banned for trolling is a first step in becoming a mod. It was his plan all along :Smile-_tongue:

This are the forum rules.

https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/announcement/3-world-of-warships-forum-rules/

TBH, I dont see anything in there that would justify a forum ban.

The closest thing would be:

Be constructive

  • When posting, please make sure you do so with good intentions. Refrain from posting when you don't have anything positive or constructive to say on the topic.
  • Your post should contribute to the discussion or the solution of the issue being discussed.
  • If the only purpose of your post is to be negative, it is not worth posting.

3. Don’t resort to personal attacks, abuse or harassment:

Avoid:

  • Insults
  • Racial or Ethnic slurs
  • Promotion of national hatred
  • Real-Life Threats
  • Spamming or Trolling
  • Distribution of Real-Life Personal Information
  • Links to websites containing any of the above mentioned cases.

It isn't that WG is preventing you to protest just it doesn't give them anymore rights than any other forumuser, so if you just stick with the rules and make a protest thread in a more constructive fashion it should be alright.

Then WG violates this in every social post, where they want you to like their facebook page, twitter, give ingame name and server in comments on youtube etc etc :)

I have been sanctioned myself on this forum for pretty dumb stuff... hence thats why I am asking. But expect a lock, since we are not allow to discuss reasons and decisions for sanctions (in the rules).

And? Had he been smart, it would not have happened.

No discussion of moderation/sanctions. If you have questions regarding the rules I may point you to MrConway, Sehales and Crysantos.
