A few questions about AA in 0.8.2

Hi guys,

As we all know, since 0.8.2 shared ship AA bubbles work differently compared to before.

A cluster of ships now deal less total continuous DPS to a squadron compared to previously, but it's still higher than the output that you would get out of a single ship, through non-linear addition of DPS.

Out of curiosity, I have a few questions about this:

- Am I right in assuming that, by 'non-linear', they mean that the ships' AA DPS is debuffed by an increasing factor for each ship added to the cluster?

- If this is the case, by what factor is it decreased for each additional ship before being added to the total?

-  Is there a limit to how high the debuff factor goes? In other words, is there a limit to by how much the DPS is lessened per ship added?

This situation is not representive of what actually happens : it is missing the point ships will have their AA focus zones up in the direction of atacking aircraft thus not present 100 % to the outer edges where aircraft come from  but more. 125 % ?

But it is still healthier to "bounce" back at a similair angle you came in from thus staying on the outside of the circle of 1 ship, certainly not overfly the ship and head toward another as you will then enter the focus zone.

This indeed opens possebilities attacking even a "blob" if you remain on the outside of this ships defence circle and not overfly it toward the other ships. Torpedo bombers will be very suitable for this.

It doesn't matter if their AA sector is up or not

''The damage of the AA zones firing on squadron is determined''

The damage may be more or less than base(without sectors up or down), it doesn't matter. The checks will take it into account, based on what MrConway posted.

y  do  you  need  AA   SECTOR    y  cant  you  have  it  automatic  AA

If you can't grasp why having a function that adds extra dps to ONE squadron when you really only ever get attacked by more than ONE squadron anymore would be a pointless addition.. then ye..

The scaling is "weird" t say the least, for 2, 3 and 4 ships (4 already had too many lines, didn't take it further for this exact reason) it looks like this:

What I don't know is if 6 (used in their example) is the cut-off point, or if it keeps going infinitely (or in this case - till 12 as that's max team size). Formula is easily scailable, and at 12 ships with equal AA their sum dmg would be only 2/3
