A ship that I believe that should be included in the US High Tier Cruiser line or middle US Battleship line is the Alaska Battle Cruisers.
Known as mini Iowa's, they were fast, heavily armed BC's.  I would hope the developers would look into including this ship line in the game.  It would be a worthy addition and in some cases a not widely know US WWII warship.

USS Alaska (CB-1) was the lead ship of the Alaska class of large cruisers which served with the United States Navy during the end of World War II.

I don't see them as cruisers, because they are waay too powerful for any CA to take on (also because they were built to kill them, duh).

As BBs... well, in the future we could see them, perhaps. I wouldn't be against it, but we have to find a good spot for them.

WG wont add everything at once for each nation. There is many US ships from each ship type that still need assigning to lines. Look at WoT for example they just added the Firefly recently and have a patch coming soon adding more vehicles. Don't worry however I Imagine the Alaska will be added sometime in the future

Edit: @History Personally if possible I would like to see dedicated BC lines if a nation can field them.

remember: This is Not NF!

another Game = other developers.

AND: This is an early CBT so maybe they include other ships later

I understand your desire, but I don't see how it would be possible... there's not a single nation that could make a complete line of BC, going as far as Tier 10, not even the UK, the US or Japan. Simply because in WWI when BCs were relatively widespread only few nations actually had them (mostly UK and Germany, with some Japanese, US and Russia), while in WWII the only ships that come close to BCs (even though none was classified as such) were the Scharnhorst-class and the Alaska-class, excluding the old British ones still in service and that were kind of showing their age.

Wasn't Hood a BC ? :P I would love to see that...;)

It will surely be in the British line, I think. As a BB, of course.

And it will always blow up from the first shot ? :P

To be fair, Hood took some shots before the one that, one way or another, caused its sinking.

the Alaska would make a mighty fine Tier 7-8 premium though

It is fast, can do 31-33 knots, it has 12" fast firing guns with the same penetration as the New Mexico's 14"

It is only armored against 8" guns though

And it is quite a unique ship

For me It's fits the premium role perfectly

That being said, I heard they plan her for the second US fast BB line

  • Cool 1

If you look at WoWP or WoT the tech tree wil be less cypress-like and more bushy as time passes and ships get added. I suspect this addition is not a question of IF, but WHEN.

Btw Sorry guys But I'm just gonna fanboy over this thread

So the Alaska-class

Let me tell you the first time I saw this ship I knew that this is going to be the Type 59 of WoWs and let me tell you why

Ok So the Alaska-class is a large cruiser or if you prefer Battlecruiser

This means that the Ship is lightly armored, fast and has big guns.

This is a combo that will make them favored compared to battleships.

So the Alaska specifically.

It has 12" guns. But these are not your everyday 12" guns ,oh no boy.

These were the worlds most powerful 12" guns ever created. Due to their super-heavy AP shells they had better penetration than the New Mexico's 14"/50 Mk 6 guns with a rate of fire of 2,4-3 rounds/minute.

If this wasn't enough they could do 31-33 knots!!! There is only the Iowa class that can rival that speed afaik.

And they have enough armor to repel 8" gunfire!

And ofc their AA is better than the Baltimore's.

So yeah I think this ship is gonna be great.

Also it looks badass as hell.

Perfect Pirate ship.

The Germans and British can definitely get to tier 10 in terms of battlecruisers. The Japanese might be able to as well.

As for Alaska, when last mentioned they were going to be tier 6 in a Dreadnought line.

I would disagree for the UK line as there will surely be paper designs that could make a BC line but even so if mini lines were put in much like the scout lines in Wot that link back in to the main line for the tier 9 or 10

edit: make sure to read other posts before hitting quote. What mr3awsome said

With paper ships?

Of course, but only the Japanese will have a tier 10 Dreadnought that was actually built (Yamato), so that is neither here nor there

No, I just wanted to know which... I imagine it will be something like the G3 battlecruiser for the Royal Navy, won't it?
