Has anyone ever considered where & why the Game 'spawns' your particular ship where it is placed (spawned) to start a battle?

There are instances where one does question 'Why did my ship get spawned where it was placed'?

 It would seem to me that there should be a 'general spawn area' where the player could place their ship where the player wanted - not just where the game thought it should be placed.

I've seen some rather ridiculous placement on my particular ship at times. I'm sure others have seen the same.

There certainly is no choice by the player and how often does one see several players on a team re-positioning their ship at the start of a battle? Almost always.

WoWS - why not allow the player to move their ship to wherever in the spawn area that the player wants to start at - during the pre-battle countdown. This would be ideal.

Well, I doubt anyone knows more about it than @strangers123, I've seen him accurately calling out where enemy ships will [most likely] be spawned before the pre-battle timer has reached 0

 

The one I sort-of know is that if you are the highest tier division in the team you get the center spawn. Not sure how it works with multiple divs of the same "highest tier" tho. COuld do something to do with ship classes, as while playing in a div my BB practically always is spawned in center. Except for North-spawn Hotspot where you sometimes get 2 players of the div + 1 random in the center, and the 3rd division member (usually seems to be a BB) spawns on the West flank :Smile_trollface:

Yeah, I remember that as well. I was like "how does he know?!" then I was like "How can I earn to know?" Strangers has been in the game for so long he legit knows more rules and mechanics than most of the playerbase, and I would lay money to the bet that he knows more about some rules and mechanics than some devs at this point.

I did an analysis on spawning locations for CVs a while ago when there was a bit of an argument about the best order for squads' take-off in RTS. Such analysis can roughly be applied to the other ships too:

Instead of three possibilities as shown, there were/are only two in reality, being the centered one just a particular case. Which means that, if you spawn in one flank, you have a 50-50 chance of facing your "equals" (e.g., if you're in a Hipper and there's a Nelson by your side there will be a T8 CA and a T7 BB in front of you) or facing the equivalents to those on the other flank (keeping with the example, if there's a Myoko, a Jervis and a Monarch over there then you'll face a T7 DD, a T7 CA and a T8 BB). For the ships right in the middle it's a lot simpler since in both cases you'll find your counterparts almost face-off. Some educated guesses taking into account the map and people's behaviour in it should allow you to determine which situation it is and where the ships in the middle of the line will go.

 

Of course, divisions can complicate things a bit, but as an initial approach it's quite sound.

This is a big issue the worst is when there are asplit between two tiers say 7 and 9 the Tier 9 dd will face  the tier 7 dd and vice versa on the other side of the map so there is a straight advantage for the higher tier as they are facing the lower tier opponent. This causes these ships to die quite quickly this is the same for cruisers and bbs your see a block of tier 7s on one side and a chunk of tier 9s in this case. Get this sorted out mirror the tier 9s to tier9s and tier 7s to tier7s. This game is more than 4 years old get this sorted absolutely shocking this has not been fixed. Fix the sigma on higehr tier bbs instead of giving this to the Russian BB lines if the BB is getting closer the sigma should increase not be at the hands of Random generator make this across the board for all BBs to increase closer support play from the BBs. They are doing thisfor premium ships now Uss Ohio, Gerogia i knwo they have less guns but is this the return of premium ships with better Sigma and is this the start of what happened with premium tanks in Wot
