[PKYB] jamespurs Players 2 posts 8,949 battles Report post #1 Posted March 5, 2019 I currently have the Razer Deathadder Elite for my Desktop, and when I travel I use my Logitech MX Master as I couldn't go a day without it. Even have 3 MX masters for different needs. I am looking for a new mouse with extra buttons as I feel that I can do more from just a mouse instead of messing around with keyboards. Layout of Mac and Windows keyboards are slightly different. I have looked at the Razer Naga Trinity, but wanted to see what other people had. I'm not biased to any company. Appreciate the help James Topic moved to offtopic from gameplay Excavatus
[SCRUB] Aotearas Players 8,460 posts 13,076 battles Report post #2 Posted March 5, 2019 Personally I'm very happy with my Logitech G502. Good ergonomics (on the heavy side), couple extra buttons (omron buttons, great quality) and what was arguably the best optical sensor (PMW 3366) back when the mouse got released though no doubt technology has advanced a bit since then. Really the only thing you need to know is what kind of sensor you want/need and then you can basically match build quality, ergonomics and number of extra buttons you want however you feel like it within your budget.
[RATM] Grumpy_Shark Players 300 posts 23,223 battles Report post #3 Posted March 5, 2019 Well, it depends on the size of your hand and the way you grab the mouse. I personally use Logitech G303 Daedalus Apex which I find very comfortable for my type of grip (tiger claw) and relatively small to medium hands Unfortunately, now it is discontinued But, check out this review. The guy has more reviews as well. Check them out to see what you like best. "https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3_0UiUFwrXc"

[WCBG] BrusilovX Beta Tester 2,838 posts 24,471 battles Report post #7 Posted March 5, 2019 I still use a Razer DeathAdde Elite - personally, I don't like too many buttons on the mouse. I guess it's just what you're used to. Edited: I also stick with wired mice as I've had problems with wireless ones (Logitech) over the years with the mouse and keyboard getting out of sync. Panocek Players 13,176 posts 13,617 battles Report post #8 Posted March 5, 2019 A4tech and their gaming series, X-7xx and F7. affordable and just work. Over... 13 years by now I had three of them, first replaced due to "fluid spills", apparently beer doesn't compute well will electronics... Second replaced after it experienced gravity accelerated encounter with hard surface, was working but case cracked. Third one (F7) still works flawlessly though after 3 years its finish lost some of its color in most used areas
[NED] piet11111 Players 2,225 posts 8,827 battles Report post #9 Posted March 5, 2019 I also have the g502 its a small mouse if you have large hands but its very good also i do not think i want to go without that scrollwheel that you can unlock for super fast scrolling. Razer is cheap cr*p i never had a mouse last much longer then a year but they are nicely shaped for large hands.
bushwacker001 Players 2,870 posts Report post #10 Posted March 5, 2019 Went from a Death Adder to a Razer Naga 2 or 3 years ago. I wanted more buttons but being left handed my choices were very limited. Still use it and wouldn't change. Naga has 12 thumb buttons but I use 7 at most. [S-E] FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor Players 3,532 posts 29,313 battles Report post #14 Posted March 5, 2019 Other people's recommendations might not help you a whole lot, since the choice of mouse is a somewhat personal issue and depends heavily on your grip and individual hand anatomy. Especially if your hands are on the small side, though all in all, it's probably not as important for WoWs as for other, faster paced games. The best comparison shopping site imho is geizhals.de (I use the German domain but it has several others, skinflint.co.uk etc) which aims to have all the dimensions and equipment as filters. Still not perfect, there are errors in the database and some manufacturers just not publish all of the data, but it has been a great help nonetheless. I use a Logitech M500 laser mouse which I tried in vain to replace with something a little more sophisticated several times. Even some fairly expensive mice just didn't feel right, which is in large part because my hands are fairly small. So anything longer or much higher than the M500 - we are talking millimeters - was immediately out, and also the "hump", the highest spot, had to be fairly in the middle and could not be to far to the rear or I just could't hold it well. YMMV but the one other thing I took away from the experience is that no matter how many side and other buttons the mouse has, they are completely useless if they are in a place where I have to change my grip to reach them. On the M500, the only extra buttons I can use are the sideways clicks on the four-way mouse wheel, which I've both mapped to the same keyboard key, and the rearmost of the two side buttons which luckily falls under my thumb. They go a very long way already though and after 10K or so battles, I'm so used to it, and so frustrated with the search for an alternative, that all I'm concerned with for now is stockpiling enough M500s, should Logitech one day stop making them... Picked up this one (well, the updated "Hero" version) myself when my G5 started going wonky (playing Overwatch when your mouse randomly disconnects for ten seconds at a time is something of a frustrating experience) and I can only echo the quoted sentiment. It's very comfortable in my (admittedly fairly large) hands, precise and I like the weight of it. It doesn't have the insane amount of buttons you can get on the Naga Trinity, but personally I don't really end up using more than two of the three available thumb buttons anyway. I see some people criticize the naga trinity for "scraping" and not being very comfortable on a stiff mouse mat (IE the type of mouse mat I prefer), whereas the G502 slides like a perfectly smoothed curling stone. Another recommendation for this one right here. It's an excellent mouse. The original version is fairly cheap nowadays too. Only thing the new updated Hero one does different is an even better sensor (you're unlikely to feel the difference, the original one is already excellent) and some very minor improvements. Was the original machine a 80286, IBM AT motherboard? The keyboard looks like the one the second computer I ever used had (the first one was a 8088, IBM XT). I also bought that very same adapter from AT to PS/2 because those things were sturdy. And being light-coloured unlike most current commercial keyboards you could draw your own markings when working with different layouts. Back on topic, as long as the mouse is heavy and corded it's fine to me. During the transition from balled to optical many people I met in net cafés waited for the PCs with the former type to be free in order to play just because of being accustomed to the weight (also not suffering from ghost movements when relocating the mouse affected such preferences). As others have said, Logitech is the default way to go in that regard: durable, quality sensors, ergonomic and functional. I've looked into Razer products in the past due to the amount of buttons but none of them seemed enough convincing. Salute.
