Two battles today - both randoms & NBs = both CHEAT losses, especially the first battle.

I did OK in both battles - got my NB exp requirement.

Am I a good player? I'd like to think so, at least, sometimes, although the well known stat shaming whores here on the Forum (plus, ofc, certain known 'contrarians') would disagree.

Thing is, I was stuck on teams, AGAIN, with far too many bottom feeders and that is not random.

Anyone who thinks the MM is even remotely 'random' is either a liar or denying reality (or works  for  WG).

A couple of screenshots don't prove anything in this context.

 

The team distribution in that screnshot is perfectly possible with a random MM.

You remind me a lot of some customers who ask for a "'random draw" and are then discontent with what they receive, since it wasn't the draw they expected / wanted.

Btw what is the point of the first screenshot anyway. you are in a top tier BB with 30% XP less than the first guy in your team. There is a nagato over you. Whats your point? Do you want to show us that you didnt play well enough and lost?

They are not supposed to do anything about it, it being random makes it fair because on average your team is just as good as the enemy team, you get the good team just as often as you get the potato team. This particular game might not have been fair but that is irrelevant. You are using the mod to make yourself angry instead of using it correctly :
- Is your team significantly better? Play like a crazy person, it's going to be over in 5 minutes and you won't get any damage.
- Is your team similar, slightly better or slightly worse? Play normal

- Is your team trash? Don't try to be the hero, some teams can't win no matter what you do, use this opportunity to just farm. Hang far back and farm damage, the potatoes will accidentally provide you plenty of spotting while they drive around randomly getting blapped.

You have to take those colors with a grain of salt too, a yellow dude could be stuck at yellow because he played 20.000 games when he was twelve years old, he's 18 now and much improved because he is no longer just satisfied with "haha gun go boom hahaha ship sinking" A purple dude could be a green dude who reset his account to be purple, or a yellow dude who reset his account and slaughters bots at low tier.

Being bottom tier is also an opportunity, because some people on the enemy team are bottom tier too. If you overperform bottom tier (usually by being very careful/patient) and the bottom tier ships on the enemy team get smashed, you have tremendous impact on the outcome of the game. Saturday me and my friends were in gadjah mada + lazo + colorado against a div with black + alaska + missouri. We didn't beat them, but we outplayed them enough to waste 20 minutes of their time. Meanwhile their bottom tier ships on the other side got smashed in the 3rd minute. We won that game because we were bottom tier and know how to do it. You can carry a game bottom tier, usually not by smashing everyone, but by not getting smashed while your counterpart on the other side does. It's also really good for making money/xp, and you get to smile at the scoreboard when it says a division of three T7s carried a T9 game.

I think this is good advice, but I also think that complaining is easier

To read these defenses for a balanced game that has only the expense for premium ships all the same.
But have a big laugh, so much either they don't know how to do it or they don't intend to do it to fix a MM of m .... (it could turn out to be a good game and not one you spend to get nothing).
So why hurt yourself, 2/3 games, it's a m .... total, see you tomorrow (maybe) to play those who are okay is ...... what?

Premium ships are not stronger than tech tree ships, both premium and tech tree ships have weak and strong ships. And often what is weak or strong is perception, a potato will not be impressed with how quickly baltimore dies if he makes a small mistake, unicum will not be impressed with limited game impact farming damage in a prinz eugen. There's competitive tech tree ships for every class at every tier. And the most cracked premium ships were freemium, meaning anyone could get them for free if you had the brains to recognize how good it was before it got removed and saved up free xp or coal to get it.

Could be worse, you could have double CV, double Sub, four destroyers, two cruisers and one battleship but all three of those have smoke. Literally an empty map with 0 visible ships is possible

These are good observations.

I'd just like to say that "temperament" plays a big part in how a player feels about playing bottom tier.

 

There was a post in the forum several years ago by someone who spoke with great authrity about how the system of Tiers made it inevitable that you would face being bottom tier rather more than being top tier.  Everyone faces this - no one is being "picked on"

 

Speaking personally though, I still don't like the feeling of being bottom tier too much.

The game is a struggle enough as it is, without being the underdog rather more than one feels is "fair"

 

Probably, I should just give up the game entirely - but it's like  a b****y addiction! LOL

I need to find the correct hammer so that I can do this.

 I enjoyed it, but itss kinda crazy :D you cant quite see it but its a IV-VII game with a IV Kaiser in the game :D
