Let's all the DD whiners whine a bit more, yeah. Nobody should be able to spot a DD (CVs) or even damage them (BB AP nerf).

You could use HE with your BB....

I'm gonna have to agree that a range buff was unnecessary....a duration buff would've been enough and even the only on the soviets.

Flooding change looks bad on paper but could turn out differently ingame.

Radar change, i can't really understand why they buffed the range. Makes no sense to me, really.

From the article:

Radar-carrying cruisers will be able to sink destroyers just as efficiently as before.

Nope. They will be much more effective (save for USA CLS) as range and/or duration will be buffed.  On top of this that 6s cooldown for a team will give them time to aim and that's it. Then with info about usage of consumables, even potatoes will start to chain radars - even worse for poor idiots still trying to play objectives or scout. I can adapt but we are close to the situation when playing high tier DDs will become completely pointless and funless. Skill gap will increase probably as well to the point that DDs will become new RTS CVs. We all know how hard is to win without DDs providing spotting and capping in games without CVs. Now imagine games when your team will lose all 2 DDs in first 2-3 minutes, or when all 2-3 DDs will staymost of the game behind the whole fleet. Who will spot? Oh, I know the answer: RADAR:Smile_trollface:

As a dd player I had no issue with receiving through and through AP hits giving me normal penetration damage. This threat was only significant from BB players who can shoot and hit what the aim at. Its not unreasonable that a half ton shell entering the bow of a dd and leaving via the stern may do considerable damage. The solution to this threat was to not be seen or better stated to only be seen at moments of opportunity.  In this battle its the stealth skill of the dd against the shooting skill of the bb. The problem now is that almost every popular ship has radar, so the new solution is to not enter the radar ships area of influence, which often rules out capping in the early game. Wargamings first solution was to nerf bb AP shell damage, thus hurting bb players with shooting skills. The solution to this nerf was to use HE spamming cruisers to control the cap areas and leave the bbs to engage in long range artillery duels. So dds who don't want to die in the first 5 minutes of the game are still forced to play 12km away from any possible hiding places for radar equipped cruisers and wait for the radar spam to be reduced as ships get killed by the long range artillery duel. BBs are forced to play at a range so they can disengage from cruiser and dd HE spam. Now following the cv rework it seems that even 12km away isn't enough. The new meta for dds is to act as a close escort for cruisers, thus taking advantage of their AA bubbles and spamming a huge quantity of HE shells at any target spotted by the friendly cv.

It does seem that every time wargaming make a mistake they patch the mistake with another mistake, rather than addressing the original mistake. All this started with nerfing stealth torpedoes to allow new players who tend to favour bbs to get started in the game and now those same new players in their new bbs are going to have to live with air ordnance spam. Ah cv's are the new dds. :)
