Hello all,

The port UI is better now, there are some minor issues, like not-visible camos in the port, and some lag..

i guess it will be better on the main server..

Update: It works reasonable better now. Usually modul fitting was a pain on the PTS, this time it is way more comfortable :Smile_great:

The update is a step in the right direction since the Port has become somewhat more responsive, which is great!

However, not only does the Port still cause suspicious spikes in CPU and GPU power consumption where frankly none must exist, considering there is no gaming activity going on whatsoever. There also remains an inexplicable degree of lag. So it would be great if you could keep prioritizing this issue ahead of any new content development.

Moreover, the update once again fails to address concerns the player base has been voicing for quite some time, most of them for years. Chief among them is signal flag management.

It would be great if you could at least add a basic „Demount All Signal Flags“ button which players have been asking for since the earlier stages of development. It can’t be that hard. This should ideally be implemented right away in Patch 0.8.1 before releasing the patch onto the live server.

Other improvements which many players are bound to appreciate more than most of the changes implemented with the upcoming patch so far include adding hotkeys for switching the AA sector and deselecting auto-resupply by default for all items that cost gold doubloons , for example Type 59 camouflages.

For the next update after this one, players consider features like signal flag profiles or presets a priority that they themselves can edit and save. This is also not a new idea and similar ergonomic, userfriendly concepts have been well established in many branches of the software industry for decades. There are a lot of conceivable solutions, from having simple signal flag presets for each of the different ship classes, to having full configuration presets for each individual ship and battle type which conceivably could include upgrades, modules and consumables as well, and possibly even let the player set limits of how much and which kinds of in-game currencies can be automatically expended. These should probably be introduced to new players in a gradual, step-by-step manner so as to not overwhelm them with the added complexity. Basically didacticize these changes and bind access to them to progress in account level.

Another issue which players have been consistently asking for, over extended time periods, and which the Update once again fails to address, are consistent hot key bindings for consumables. As a first step, it would be great if you could maybe just make it so that consumables are no longer bound to specific slots but to specific keys, and bind the consumables directly to the keys instead of binding the slots to the keys. Or something.

Regarding the inclusion of mods from the sanctioned Aslain Mod Pack into the game proper, players have been asking that the modifications "Return commander to his ship", “Score Timer” and “Extended Tech Tree” be included into the regular game client, the last of which would even get WG some marketing mileage since players could easily look up premium ships right in the game that they might be contemplating to buy.

Regarding the Battle GUI, introducing distinct and different icons for radar, hydro and proxy spotting is another great and long overdue step in the right direction. Now please make it so that all the different detection icons are also being displayed at the same time when applicable.

Port is now as laggy and unresponsive as ever. I have a hard time understanding what happened between the Public Test and the live roll-out of the new patch because in the PT, the improvement had been really significant.

Regarding the new "Open All Containers" Button, it is a perfect example of how Wargaming consistently refuses to automate boring, repetetive elements that are not core gameplay while they keep consistently automating more and more core gameplay elements that should in fact never be automated

The latter are the actual opportunities for players to pitch their skills against others, which is the key point of an MMO. To make tactical decisions that can influence the outcome. IOW the things that constitute playing the game. Like hull control and consumables of the new carriers, AA control of the surface combattants etc. (by which I mean direct fire control, not this sector-based AA which is the exact opposite of fun and engaging.)

Selecting the containers and watching the crane animation really loses its novelty value after you've seen it a few dozen times.

And while the new "Open All Containers" button is a step in the right direction, it in fact automates the single most suspenseful moment of the process. And it doesn't even save a lot of time in the process. It takes about ten seconds or so. Players still have to manually select which type of daily containers they want. There should be a preset for that. Players should also get signal flag presets etc. These are the boring and repetetive elements that needlessly consume time. Not the actual gameplay.
