Detectability Penalty Change in 0.8.0

  1. 1. Would you like to keep the current concealment debuff mechanics or revert back to the old mechanics as WG intends to with 0.8.0?

    • Current mechanic (Debuff ends once line of sight is broken)
    • Old mechanic (Debuff stays for full 20 sec duration regardless of line of sight loss)

so if im correct my gaede and maass are going to have harder time than usual?

 

I need to get a job at wargaming as common sense and competency clearly isnt needed.

 

never even knew it was bug thought it was an untended feature.

Reminds me of that BUG that got rapidly fixed that allowed Broadside BBs to be citadel'd... good times...:cap_rambo:

No problem. I voted, though I still don't understand why I had to in the first place. Who in your company thought it was a problem to begin with, and more importantly, why? And that's ignoring the fact if the current mechanism is a bug or not - there's more important bugs to fix imho, lock-on one would be a good start.

785 now  :etc_swear:. And do not fix the "bug" pls. It is one of the best changes recently and probably for a foreseeable future also.

93.2% currently in favour of keeping current mechanic at almost 1200 votes. Let's also not forget that this was not touted as a bug at all by Wargaming staff until the change was announced, and has been in game for quite a long time now. 

 

Wargaming would have to be insane to push through this change when the absolute overwhelming opinion is against it.

Actually, I'd be slightly surprised if they pull back for the 8.0 since there's so little time - if I were them, I would be afraid of breaking something by changing it now, the patch should be long ready to deploy right now. The best outcome I expect would be a "quick fix" bringing the "bug" back in a week of time.

Well the patch is already downloading but it could be hotfixed very easily shortly thereafter

"Alright, we hear you, we bring it back asap. But the patch is already there so you have to bear with it a few days."

 

And then days of agony until a hotfix of 20 MB comes to bring the "Bug" back.

I imagine we're in for quite a lot of mini-updates over the next few patches as they work out the new CV balance. So hopefully it's the perfect time for a petition of sorts to succeed. I do hope the other servers are raising hell about it too, and that it doesn't get lost in the (probable) storm of CV-related tears, salt and butthurt.

 

I will definitely be giving feedback on this on the 'current update' section of the forum and any surveys I get asked to fill in, to make sure it stays on the devs' radar :cap_horn:

Pretty sure this is my first response on the forums, but it's a total head-desk from me. This doesn't serve to do anything other than further encourage players to stay camping behind islands and doing nothing of good all game. Looks like the good old officially-approved "Time till debuff ends" mod will make its way back onto my client

Even if I’m actually kind-of neutral on this one I think the numbers speak for themselves

 

Also “we’ll talk about it and then let you know tomorrow” - isn’t that a bit late seeing how that’s already when NA and RU get the patch?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen an issue so one sided in the game before, if that doesn’t tell you to keep this mechanic I don’t know what will

the debuff has been in the game for while now, you have balanced ships around it...... why remove it? 

there are some massive changes in 0.8 already and your taking away a quality of life?

i always try to look at the positives, there are many "i hope"

out of every change / patch this is causing the biggest riot 

why not think hey the entire player base enjoys this, were leave it in and fix the lock on bug instead?
