Hello Captains,

.................. it seems there is a growing interest / need for additional Ranks within WoWs and it's certainly something that many Clans have been discussing internally.

We would like to see more Rank options to allow for a sense of progress within the Clan itself, while also allowing Clans to have a competitive structure for places in the Clan Wars Divisions ( Alpha / Bravo ).

This in turn, should create more need for the use of the Training server as it would be used more by the Clans, not only for training but as a place for internal Clan competition for places in the CW Div's.

Providing these additional Rank options can only help to improve the activity levels within Clans and WoWs hopefully, something that benefits us all .

We'd like to add our voices to this discussion and hope that many more Clan Leaders and Members will add their thoughts to this topic......

That's right. Wot has 12 ranks. Wows 4 ranks. The Clan BSW joins this post with an increased clan rank by 2.

Making new ranks for clan members is fine idea. There is a lot field to show off for a developers and it could be fun.

Good idea. Generally there are only two, not counting this for new in the clan and the commander (rank for one person). Not many ranks to manage the clan and get the members involved :)

If they are going to even look at adding additional ranks, could we also ask for a proper communication system to be implemented to be able to contact your clan through the game. Send a message so they all see it, have a message bored with important info on that new members can reference. We have an issue with members not wanting to use TeamSpeak or Discord, and therefore we have no other way to really contact them as a whole, only on an individual basis.

As a clan commander who wants to create a structured rewards system for my members, I have found that the current availability of ranks to be incredibly stifeling.
There is so much us commanders can do if there are just a few more ranks to choose from. I myself use the recruiter rank to show elite status for a member who has made a specific amount of oil for our clan & they recieve rewards based on this.

 

So, here is my list of possible ranks that I think would benefit commanders in structuring, please feel free to add or troll the following list :-

 

Elite - A member who has earned the right. e.g - oil made for their clan.

Communications Officer - Members who can bridge the communication gap or are adept @ google translate.

Specialist - This can be further broken down into ship type, DD specialist etc.
 

Just these few extra ranks could allow commanders the extra flexability they need in setting up a better organised clan.

In addition, how about a direct leveling system (1-10), with Line Officer @ rank1 & elite @ rank 10.

 

I hope WG can realise that a little bit more can allow us commanders to get a lot more out. I think extra ranks will make an excellent addition to the clan system & would certainly use whatever is made available to make our clan the best it can be. :)

It has.  It is just not one of WG's priorities.

I think that it is a good idea in general, although I don't see a huge amount of support behind it yet. The question then is if it is worth the dev time to implement if it is not something most clans would use.

wouldn't be interesting at all, since clans should be about cooperation and not competition between members.

On the other hand, something like a fleet commander rank (that doesn't have recruiter rights but can launch CB divisions) would indeed be useful...

As MR Conway is looking at this idea....and it's a good one imho, could we also have the ability in the Clan Members listing to suspend a member from receiving the Clans Bonuses.

The reason for this is simple, WG has a Code of Conduct expected of Clan members, so when asked to take action about a member by another Clan Leader or possibly WG, currently that amounts to a verbal telling off or possibly suspension / removal from the Clan.

The ability to " suspend " a Clan member from receiving " bonuses " for 1 , 2 , 3 , weeks and so on would be a useful addition to a Clan Leaders options , while also something WG could monitor to check it was being upheld in cases of complaint against a Clans member...….and if that failed to improve a players behaviour,  then I'm sure WG could feel justified in taking what ever further action they felt necessary .

 

No one likes receiving offensive language and abuse in chat and if presented with a screen shot of your Clans members committing these acts, it would be good to have some options for dealing with it, other than just the ban stick ! :)
