You know, if new CVs are OP and my win rate goes down dramatically because of the teething issues, i.e. finding a balance by testing on the live server, or my DD play style becomes unmanageable, frustrating and I cannot derive any happiness out of the game, then I will quit it.

And I think I have payed a lot during last year, so it has stopped being a free to play for me for a long while now.

Saw a video about the CV-rework,where a CV DB-s detonated a bot-DD whit divebombers...(whitout a single bomb hitting:Smile_facepalm:)

Sooo i tried the rework myself,and saw the CV-s in the rework now can go 8 flags like all the ships(vs the live 4 flag),so is this the right time to give this class the ultimate

Fun&Engaging-mechanic,that every other ship has to bother minus the CV-s?

(or ofc the new Wows artys shouldnt be bothered by this kind of stuff?)

Your metaphor (or is it a simile ?) is extremely clumsy and confusing, and I'm not entirely certain what you are trying to say with it.

 

Neither a metaphor nor a simile and i am sorry for not being more clear and more precise.

 

In this respect, i have been playing games for at least 30 years and i have played games from all genres that have been around for all this time. I have experienced and rise and demise of noumerous titles, i have experienced the gaming (r)evolution both as a gamer as well as a professional in the technology sector. I was even the first who played the original Tetris game or DOOM. Therefore i quite know what i am talking about. 

 

I would never play RUST (see naked mongoloids or looting of bases), Fortnite, PUBG, GTA or EVE either becuase they are too slow and boring or because you only play cause you want to troll others and conceal your antisocial or even sadistic behaviour behind "playing a game".  

 

So i have moved to the WG cyberspace and titles as they pose a good combination of playing with your friends, on a near RTS environment where you dont have to wake up at night to tend to some "urgent matter" or need to dedicated 24/7. You pay your premium account or your premium ship, you log on, you get in touch with your friends and have some fun for a few hour a few days a week.

 

Now about the constant reworks and fixes of the game and the CV rework:

  • will make it necessary for more fixes patches and updates,
  • negates a lot of current ships and commander skills,
  • will not unify the game as the new CV players will even more NOT play for the team, as they have to do now,
  • and give rise to many many more issues and situations that have already been covered by the player posts.

I am not a denial of change but the current CV gamemode is MORE demanding than other ship classes and you have to be fully aware of your impact which many players either refuse or are incapable to see or simply do not care. 

 

Now i hope that this post makes my position crystal clear. WG has opted for not including CVs in clan or ranked battles and that is for all the reasons i have presented....thumbs up to that...they understood the impact that CVs have and the lack of balanced involved.

 

The CV rework will probably make the CVs more popular but it will be much more difficult to ammend the current situation.And personally i will refuse to play when i enter a battle where you may have to face 3-4 CVs per side cause this goes far beyond skill ad enters the realm of OP broken gameplay.

Played it on PT now. Not sure about the changes. Takes quite some time to adjust to the new gameplay. Although I played against bots, the AA on tier 8 was anhiliating, if not attacking a lone ship. Damage output is medicore. Did more damage with DB than TB, but that's probably learning curve. The feeling of being the hand of god is gone and I think that is good. A good CV player at high tiers is currently just devestating and frustrating for the opposite CV player.

A well-written and excellent response, I understand where you are coming from and can agree with you on several points. I'm still maintaining optimism for the rework, as I think the system needed to be rebalanced from the ground up and as someone who wanted to play CVs but was terrible at RTS gameplay (check my Houshou Random/Co-Op stats for some lols), but I can appreciate your concerns.

I would've given your post a 'like' too, however one final point was left that I feel too strongly about to give it a positive rep:

I'm sorry, but I cannot condone this sort of behaviour.

Deliberately going AFK in a match just because the MM gave you something you personally did not like is scummy. The above statement is no different than being in a T8 cruiser in a T10 battle and just deciding to go AFK rather than slogging it out and trying your best. It's no different than being in a T7 silver CV and deliberately self-torpedoing to prevent the enemy Saipan from sinking you (this has happened in a battle I was in once:cap_viking: I can only hope he had his account banned for that...).

If you feel so strongly about the potential of being matched into a battle with 3 CVs per side, I think myself and your future teammates would rather you either stuck to Co-op or just didn't play the game.

Some of us paid real money for premium ships and time, paid for exiting and engaging game play. Game where you are fighting the opponents not a game where opponent will farm damage on you without any means of retaliation. I can't play CV yet on PTS I nearly doubled my damage every game. I am scared what a good CV will do to my DD. With so quick planes returning every minut spamming rockets game has potential to become totally unplayable. I hope that at least a few AA cruisers will remain playable.

I played the Public test and was so confused all the time that I stopped trying. First time ever on a Public test. So I will sell my carriers also when this update arrives. No use in spending time and money on that anymore. And if the balance isn't right with other ships I can still abandon my clan and stop playing warships. I was playing it from the start but it has to be fun and not hard work. Or you have to pay me instead of that I pay for the game.

Some commends for the upcoming changes:

1) Now the game will be even more dd dependend. Practicaly when a team loses it's dds the other team will win since having 1 dd vs none will be a huge advantage! Since no way to spot torps via plane. 
This will lead to a torp fiesta with no countermeasures. And don't mention hydroacoustics... Nooone gonna take hydro with so many cvs around.
Eventually this will lead as i said to a torp fiesta initially and then in even more passive play. So please reconsider. Also removing torp spoting from the carrier removes a nice cooperative factor between the cv and the fleet.
2) I think this side concentrated AA is garbage. Fast ships can't be changing AA sides all the time. Especialy dds. AA must work at all sides all the time.

Ad1 Torp fiesta? Only if one CV will refuse to kill or spot DDs what is very easy with so quick rocket planes. Otherwise there will be no DD left to launch these torps. But the same thing is now. Potato CV means game lost. Unicum CV goes for DDs first. 

Ad2 I agree. I think it would be a good thing to help friendly and that's it. Old way is so much better. And what if CV attacks from bow on or aft with dive bombers? How do you guess which side to select?

So as to clarify, i NEVER stated that i will go AFK, AFKing is like not only quitting the battle but forfeiting it for your team too. No thats not me. What i will do is carry out some outrageous attack manoeuvre and either die gloriously in flames or win the match ( i never camp even if playing BBs, i prefer up, front and personal). AFKing is like calling the whole of your team a...holes for playing with you.

Having made this clear i want to share the following: yesterday i played my Chung-Mu and i came up against a Midway from the TWA clan. Our Hakuryu was a fairly good player but...... we lost 15-9 with the Midway securing 6 skills and me scoring 2-3 kills cause the whole team clustered behind the islands and was constantly spotted by the Midway's fighters. Our Hakuryu WAS A GOOD PLAYER and not a muppet but.....

 

Imagine having a division of 3 such players....in CVs....game over....if you play conventionally like a hiding muppet.

 

So better to die gloriously in 2-3 minutes than waiting to be picked up later on.

Just to add to your thoughts.

 

THIS WAS SUPPOSED TO BE A CV REWORK!!!!! 

 

Noone said anything about changing the whole AA mechanics of ALL SHIPS IN THE GAME.

The system with the manual prioritisation  of AA was all that was needed. 

 

Reinforcing sectors, or switching between them, does not happen instantly. Therefore, be sure to choose the direction which you think carries the most risk in advance. 

 

OK sure, but how can i reinforce the starboard side AA sector with guns placed and facing port?? Will they shoot through the ship's superstucture?? 

And if this sector selection ias as fast a process as the U-turn of Yamato's main battery then what's the point in ever bothering??

 

Seriously now, THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO with CV rework process. 

 

And honestly i see no other reason for this except to make the CV rework even more broken than already is. 

 

If i am not mistaken WG said that for 1 week after the update the players will be able to re-distribute captain skills. 

THAT IS NOT ENOUGH. 

Something like that should get a timeframe of at least 1 update period as not all players log-in everyday or read the forums everyday.

Yeah I'm not too keen about the rework now I've learned that:

 

Defensive AA will soon have zero-effect on directly disrupting the aiming sights of attacking planes.

Reinforcing Sectors sounds utterly bonkers! WTF were they thinking with that?

 

Mess about with the CVs if they must (there are some issues that need fixing), but scrambling our AA about is clown world.

 

I'm a Tier X DD kinda guy and although my DD is one of the highest AA ratings it does next to nothing against a Midway squadron attacking with Dive Bombs etc! So maybe that sort of thing will be addressed with the update.

Still these rocket planes seem an utter nightmare...

 

For all that I'm reserving judgement until I see the results out on the PvP arenas etc.

Amount of AA fire does slow down plane "aiming" when lining up torpedo/bomb run though. Reinforcing Sectors is only useful if you're NOT the target and can keep entire enemy squadron on one side of your ship.

Though "my DD is one of the highest AA ratings" doesn't say well on your game experience...

I'm referring to the raw numbers that are given by WG in the tech tree etc for the DD, so game experience critique them all you want.

it still all seems so dumbed down ... just like wg balanced the graf zep for less than good players and ended up with a broken OP mess in the hands of anyone competent. this rework smacks of pandering to people who dont want to spend more than a few minutes learning.
I really dont like the rework and believe me I tried - its little more than a port of a phone game to a pc. I'm selling my cvs and quitting carriers. probably going to consider my future playing this game as clan wars has been the only real fun I've had in game recently.

What is happening to Blizzard with his tendency to create Immortal Devil and other mobile nonsense ?. Losing clients / players for their games. Warcraft falls on the stock market and on players.

 

If they want to do the same in this game and others, they will take a tremendous fall, both customers / players.

They know (wargaming), what they do with their business, but they are wrong.

Each squadron launched will only be composed of a single type of aircraft."

 

- I can press the selected key a hundred or a thousand [edited]times the planes will NEVER going to take off. They take off ONLY if I press the "F" key.

- WASD never in any [edited]camera view or map mode, with anything selected be it the ship itself or the planes on deck, in midflight, in any situation NEVER change the speed or course of the planes. These keys only control my ship even if a plane is selected on deck, midflight etc.

 

I did not read the other parts of that useless text. So, please can someone write an article or a short guide about how the hell can I control the wings manually? In english with the right keys if possible... Thank you in advance!

 

And congratz for the man who wrote that article with the crap keybinds... extremely helpful....... next time you can do it in ancient sumer as well it will not take away anything from its value.. 

 

 

Strange that nobody bothered to reply yet...

What you read is not a tutorial but an announcement. All which is described in the article will be introduced to the game with the next update. Nothing of it works in the current version.

The reactions totally remind me of the reactions when Royal Navy cruisers were introduced to the game. Boy, everybody was so negative for some weeks. After players understood how to play them things calmed down back to normal.

Wow, you let this stuff be translated automatically? :-)

 

We had so many changes to the game already and I heard the complaints all before. Everytime it took a while for players to adapt, then we continue to play. It is a pattern in human behavior - changes are often pereceived as something bad. What do you think how many of those complaining actually played the CVs on the PTS? How many got first hand experience? I bet you not many.

 

To be honest: I find this reduction of DoT against CVs a bit freightning. I do not know why WG felt there was a problem with too many fires and floodings against CVs. Did they ever mention that on their dev blog?

Read the thread and the best advice I saw was the one I'm going to do. Take advantage of the captain reset and set them all to zero, leave the game alone for a few months to see how it shakes out. If it's the CV XP farming disaster that I think it will probably be then roll on Cyberpunk and it's back to FPS and no more money to WG from me. :)

p.s. Anyone know any good sailing warship games?

Ok took a better look at the vids and it just looks like we'll have flying destroyers in the game. Now given I'm one of the few who liked WoWP this looks like it could be a bit of fun but its definitely not going to be WOWs anymore but more War Thunder. It's still going to pump the CV's to the top stats as they just going to farm XP and gameplay is going to become a camp fest with any lone idiot dead. DD's look like they going to be a non-class for a long time which is gutting as I'd just decided to grind them to T10 :). The obvious balancer is going to be subs when they come as they'll just be used to hunt the CV's so more a World of Naval Warfare not ships in future but to get the random player base to co-operate in such a manner is a big stretch for the imagination so it'll be the divs and div'd clans who will benefit the most from this and the seals will be doubly clubbed to death which I doubt WG actually wanted as they'll quit the game. I definitely think they should have a 'no CV' button option but guess that'd defeat what WG wants so no hope there. :)

Won't be renewing the premium account until this settles down tho', so thank fuk it was just running out. :)
