Playing HMS Emerald in a CO-OP battle, manoeuvring in a hard turn to port, I am destroyed by 8 AP shell hits out of a first ranging broadside of 9 from Alabama at 12km. Superb gunnery!  Lesson learnt.

By the way, the turn was commenced AFTER the shells were in flight.

I'm going to assume that the point has yet to reveal itself...

The same could have happened with most other battleships AP since emeralds armor profile is very weak and the bow is prone to get overmatched.

Use your smoke to protect yourself, islands to get near enemy BBs and torp them.

You fail-divisioned your Emerald into a tier 8 coop-battle for whatever reason. Is the game not challenging enough for you?

If you lock your rudder in a full turn even a coop-bot will hit you at 12 km. He It hit you with 8 shells, that means he it got a lot of overpens. BTW, there are no ranging broadsides in this game. Bots will just hit you, real players will hit you depending on how much experience they have.

The Emerald has a smoke screen and she really really needs it. You cannot play her as a kiting cruiser, she is not a Furutaka or Emile Bertin. Use the concealment to smoke up close to the enemy, preferably their broadside. She also has no gun range so it's not advisable to fail-division into higher tiers. Even the standard tier 7 battles that you get all the time are annoying enough. And the most important tip for how to play the Emerald: Get the Leander as fast as you can so you can ditch this piece of rubbish.
