You can read some history in this article:

https://warshipprojects.wordpress.com/2018/04/24/the-yamato-class-genesis/

These are my ideas of the follow up classes of the Yamato class battleships based on the very scarce information available about them as well as on ideas floating on the net and on logical assumptions about the previous classes and designs.

Design A-150, possible variant A:

https://www.deviantart.com/tzoli/art/A-150-Super-Yamato-class-possible-variant-A-756838933

dcilonp-a5716a97-8161-4f88-ab52-e2afcb92

Soon after the design work on the Yamato class battleships finished and the first ships launched preliminary work was started on what to build which would even surpass these gigantic vessels and with which the gun supremacy over the USN could be maintained within the Peace Goddesses doctrine. While the Yamatos were designed to carry triple 46cm gun turrets with the ability to swap them to twin 51cm ones, the new class should carry these weapons from the beginning.

Details on this design is scarce, different sources tell different information, but what is common:
51cm armed main weaponry
10cm DP-AA guns
Yamato like hull shape
armour protection against own weaponry

What differs among the sources are the number of these guns and the size of the vessel:
possible 27 or 30knots speed
6-8-9 51cm cannons
many but minimum 7-8 twin turrets per side of 10cm DP-AA guns
43-46cm belt armour

This is one of my idea for the A-150 type battleships using the Yamato hull to mount 8 twin 51cm turrets and no secondary turrets.
To provide more space for the main gun turrets as well as for the engines I've slightly moved the turrets forward and lengthened the entire superstructure by a few meters.

My design has the following characteristics:
Dimensions: 244 (pp) 256 (wl) 263 (oa) x 38,9 x 10,75m
Displacement: 68.000tons (standard), 77.800tons (full load)
Armour: 250mm Deck, 460mm Belt  inclined at 20 degrees
Engines: 165-170.000shp, 4 shafts, Steam Turbines
Speed: 50km/h (27knots)
Range: 13.300km at 30km/h (7.000nm at 16knots)
Armaments:
4x2 51cm/45 Type 98 Cannons,
16x2 10cm/65 Type 98 DP-AA guns
12x2 40mm/60 Type 5 AA Guns
22x3 25mm/60 Type 96 AA Guns
10x21 120mm Type 5 AA Rockets
7x Seaplanes (Aichi E16A Paul and Mitsubishi F1M Pete planes)
Sensors:
Type 13 air search radar antennaes (two set, both sides on the mainmast)
Type 14 air search radar (one set, on top of the aft range finder)
Type 21 air search radars (two set, on each arms of the main range finder fixed non rotating)
Type 32 surface search radars (two set one on each side of the bridge structure rotating ones)

Design A-150, possible variant B:

This is another possible version of the A-150 type battleships the IJN considered building after the Yamatos. Similar armament to the A version, but I've lengthened and widened the hull to put larger engines inside and to mount the two triple 15,5cm superfiring over the 2nd and 3rd 51cm twin turrets.

This design of mine has the following characteristics:
Dimensions: 268 (wl) 275 (oa) x 40,5 x 11m
Displacement: 76.000tons (standard), 82.300tons (full load)
Armour: 240mm Deck, 460mm Belt  inclined at 20 degrees
Engines: 200.000shp, 4 shafts, Steam Turbines
Speed: 54km/h (29knots)
Range: 13.300km at 30km/h (7.000nm at 16knots)
Armaments:
4x2 51cm/45 Type 98 Cannons,
2x3 15,5cm/60 Type 90 Guns,
16x2 10cm/65 Type 98 DP-AA guns,
14x2 40mm/60 Type 5 AA Guns,
22x3 25mm/60 Type 96 AA Guns,
10x21 120mm Type 5 AA Rockets
7x Seaplanes (Aichi E16A Paul and Mitsubishi F1M Pete planes)
Sensors:
Type 13 air search radar antennaes (two set, both sides on the mainmast)
Type 14 air search radar (one set, on top of the aft range finder)
Type 21 air search radars (two set, on each arms of the main range finder fixed non rotating)
Type 32 surface search radars (two set one on each side of the bridge structure rotating ones)

Design A-150, possible variant C:

https://www.deviantart.com/tzoli/art/A-150-Super-Yamato-class-possible-variant-C-758321728

dcjhgsg-0afbc9f9-9bfa-459e-89e2-d42a459c

On the same hull as on the B variant, I've used twin 20cm gun turrets as secondary guns. I've chosen this guns because some drawings and some sources says that the A-150 would be armed with these kind of weapons, though I found this unlikely.
Originally the C version would be the same as B except the triple 15,5cm guns replaced by twin 20cm ones but I discarded the idea as it did not really change the effectiveness of the ship, actually decreases it in same way as the 20cm guns while more powerful and could shoot further their number of barrels and their reload time is'n better than the excellent 15,5cm ones deceasing their purpose as anti destroyer guns. On the other hand on this version I sacrificed some 10cm mounts to place two 20cm gun turrets at the beams similar to these old drawings by the late CanisD:

In the end this design's has the following characteristics:
Dimensions: 268 (wl) 275 (oa) x 40,5 x 11m
Displacement: 77.700tons (standard), 84.000tons (full load)
Armour: 240mm Deck, 460mm Belt  inclined at 20 degrees
Engines: 200.000shp, 4 shafts, Steam Turbines
Speed: 54km/h (29knots)
Range: 13.300km at 30km/h (7.000nm at 16knots)
Armaments:
4x2 51cm/45 Type 98 Cannons,
6x2 20cm/50 Type 90 Guns,
10x2 10cm/65 Type 98 DP-AA guns,
14x2 40mm/60 Type 5 AA Guns,
12x3 25mm/60 Type 96 AA Guns,
10x21 120mm Type 5 AA Rockets
7x Seaplanes (Aichi E16A Paul and Mitsubishi F1M Pete planes)
Sensors:
Type 13 air search radar antennaes (two set, both sides on the mainmast)
Type 14 air search radar (one set, on top of the aft range finder)
Type 21 air search radars (two set, on each arms of the main range finder fixed non rotating)
Type 32 surface search radars (two set one on each side of the bridge structure rotating ones)

Design A-150, possible variant D:

This variant of mine features triple rather than twin 51cm turrets for the main artillery of the proposed A-150 type battleships. As accurate data are not available currently I'm trying to make various designs based on the information found during the years!
This version is basically a widened Yamato hull with 41m beam and similar to my A variant, thoughit lacks secondary guns but extra space was allocated for the engines.

My design has the following characteristics:
Dimensions: 244 (pp) 256 (wl) 263 (oa) x 41 x 11m
Displacement: 72.600tons (standard), 78.600tons (full load)
Armour: 250mm Deck, 460mm Belt  inclined at 20 degrees
Engines: 200.000shp, 4 shafts, Steam Turbines
Speed: 54km/h (29knots)
Range: 13.300km at 30km/h (7.000nm at 16knots)
Armaments:
3x3 51cm/45 Type 98 Cannons,
16x2 10cm/65 Type 98 DP-AA guns
14x2 40mm/60 Type 5 AA Guns
22x3 25mm/60 Type 96 AA Guns
10x21 120mm Type 5 AA Rockets
7x Seaplanes (Aichi E16A Paul and Mitsubishi F1M Pete planes)
Sensors:
Type 13 air search radar antennaes (two set, both sides on the mainmast)
Type 14 air search radar (one set, on top of the aft range finder)
Type 21 air search radars (two set, on each arms of the main range finder fixed non rotating)
Type 32 surface search radars (two set one on each side of the bridge structure rotating ones)

Design A-150, possible variant E:

I've continue my possible A-150 "Super Yamato" design series with the second triple turreted design on the same idea I've done the B version.
Like the A-150 B variant the hull was widened to 41 meters and lengthened to 263m on the waterline otherwise the same as the D version.

My design has the following characteristics:
Dimensions: 262 (wl) 269 (oa) x 41 x 11m
Displacement: 75.000tons (standard), 81.200tons (full load)
Armour: 250mm Deck, 460mm Belt  inclined at 20 degrees
Engines: 200.000shp, 4 shafts, Steam Turbines
Speed: 54km/h (29knots)
Range: 13.300km at 30km/h (7.000nm at 16knots)
Armaments:
3x3 51cm/45 Type 98 Cannons,
2x3 15,5cm/60 Type 90 Guns,
16x2 10cm/65 Type 98 DP-AA Guns

Design A-150, possible variant F:

This is my last A-150 design very similar to my earlier C version where I've added more secondary 20cm guns sacrificing some 10cm AA guns.
Only one Japanese Yamato type battleship remains, the mysterious last battleship design of Japan the 100.000ton battleship supposedly proposed in around 1942 and to be armed with 51cm cannons.

My design has the following characteristics:
Dimensions: 262 (wl) 269 (oa) x 41 x 11m
Displacement: 76.600tons (standard), 83.000tons (full load)
Armour: 250mm Deck, 460mm Belt  inclined at 20 degrees
Engines: 200.000shp, 4 shafts, Steam Turbines
Speed: 54km/h (29knots)
Range: 13.300km at 30km/h (7.000nm at 16knots)
Armaments:
3x3 51cm/45 Type 98 Cannons,
6x2 20cm/50 Type 90 Guns,
10x2 10cm/65 Type 98 DP-AA guns,
14x2 40mm/60 Type 5 AA Guns,
12x3 25mm/60 Type 96 AA Guns,
10x21 120mm Type 5 AA Rockets
7x Seaplanes (Aichi E16A Paul and Mitsubishi F1M Pete planes)
Sensors:
Type 13 air search radar antennaes (two set, both sides on the mainmast)
Type 14 air search radar (one set, on top of the aft range finder)
Type 21 air search radars (two set, on each arms of the main range finder fixed non rotating)

Last Japanese Battleship proposal:

https://www.deviantart.com/tzoli/art/Last-Japanese-Battleship-proposal-759738735

Ages ago (more like a decade or more...) I've found a mention on some naval sites and forums that even after the A-150 "Super" Yamato the Japanese considered building or designing  battleships surpassing even the size of the A-150 type! This design was known as the 100.000ton "Mega" Yamato. To my knowledge only two data was available about this mysterious proposal:

A Displacement of 100.000tons and an armament of 51cm cannons!

Based on this two data, knowledge on the Yamato preliminaries, the Yamatos themselves and the possible A-150 variants, this is my interpretation of this massive battleship armed with the most modern weapons and equipment of the Imperial Japanese Navy!
Like on the previous A-150 series I've put a second 15,5m range finder aft in place of Yamato's 10m secondary rangefinder and enlarged the main rangefinder atop the bridge to 17meters! I've also further enlarged the main superstructure bridge and conning tower compared to the A-150's.

Sidenote: It isn't impossible that the 100.000ton design was another A-150 variant with large size heavy armour and many guns!

With this drawing I officially done drawing all the Proto-Yamato, Pre-Yamato, Yamato Preliminaries, Yamato variants and Post-Yamato designs I've started in March!

My design the following characteristics:
Dimensions: 280 (wl) 287 (oa) x 41 x 12m
Displacement: 95.000tons (standard), 105.000tons (full load)
Armour: 250mm Deck, 460mm Belt inclined at 20 degrees
Engines: 230.000shp, 4 shafts, Steam Turbines
Speed: 54km/h (29knots)
Range: 13.300km at 30km/h (7.200nm at 16knots)
Armaments:
4x3 51cm/45 Type 98 Cannons,
2x3 20m/50 Type 90 No.2 Guns,
16x2 12,7cm/50 Type 1 / Type 5 DP-AA guns,
44x2 40mm/60 Type 5 AA Guns,
12x21 12cm Type 5 AA Rockets
6x Seaplanes (Aichi E16A Paul and Mitsubishi F1M Pete planes)

Sensors:
Type 14 Air search radar (one set on top of the aft secondary rangefinder)
Type 21 Air search radars (six sets, one on each High angle range finder tower)
Type 22 Surface search radars (two sets, one on each side of the mainmast)
Type 23 Gunnery Control / air search radars (Modified sets of 20, one on each machine gun director)
Type 24 Air search / gunnery control radars (two sets, one on each arms of the main 17m rangefinder)

Type 32 Surface search radars (two sets, one on each side of the bridge superstructure in place of the 13mm AA MGs on the Yamatos)
Type 42 Searchlight control / gun laying radars (four sets, one on each side and above the 2nd and 6th pair of 12,7cm heavy AA gun turrets)

Since when is Porn allowed on this Forum (my way of saying very nice pictures).

You make me wish, WG would introduce a new game mode. For Example, they could make a Mission or a chain of Missions, like the Halloween Missions, where some sinister Organization with huge Resources built all kinds of "Superships" like the Yamato A-150 or the German H-44 to try to rule the world (classic Villain Story).

It would be the Players job to stop those Monsters and maybe in later missions, capture them and use them against the Organization.

That way, WG would still keep their word (no bigger guns then Yamato) by not introducing these ships into the game as Tech Tree or Premiums but just as "fun ships" for Missions or Events.

Seeing your pics, really makes me wish for it.
