CW rework need one checkbox only in settings: "I am willing to wait for a cv free game".

You may lose less players after that. After all these changes + smolensk, and SAP shells on dds, babe I really really wonder why anybody still playing this.

What comes up next? BB players clicking a checkbox for non DD games, cruisers clicking non BB games, DD voting for non cruiser games and CVs opting for non Wooster and Mino MM? If you play this game you simply have to deal with what you are up against.

So many bad dd players who don't know how to play when a cv is involved. They do their usual thing as if the planes in the sky doesn't exist. But sure, go to the forums and whine about it instead of adapting to what you up against.

Hi and Happy New Year,

Having played WOW for a while I thought I'd have a go at operating a CVN so selected an IJN Hosho. I tried it for a couple of games but despite the tutorials I couldn't figure out quite how it all worked, so ditched the idea and the ship....however I was pleasantly surprised to see recently that my late uncle's ship (HMS Indomitable) has been featured as a premium purchase - guess where I'm going with this - so I need to get up to speed.

I relaunched the Hosho a couple of days ago and took it to the training room. I 'played' 4 games with it in the first half hour against someone who said my playing was bad (where do these people come from?) It was pretty difficult to figure out how to avoid the other guy whilst launching / attacking / recovering and the fact he was spawning only a few squares away didn't help... also there's no point launching a Tier IV flight against a Tier VIII (Cleveland) - not sure if its possible to arrange a training room with just a dummy ship to practice attacks against?

Normally I would just play Co-Op and learn as I go but this would clearly be unfair to my 'team mates' (I use the term loosely). From comments I have seen about other players using a CVN it is a bit like playing 'arty' in WOT, there is no appreciation when doing a good job but if you don't get hits you are labelled as 'rubbish'.

Interestingly there are some crossover skills between 'Arty' and 'CVN'; enemy location at spawn and their possible tactics, target-type awareness, finding a good hiding place, maintaining range, leading a moving target, watching your back, watching your teams tactics (if there are any) and also (after playing with some slow BB's) guessing where you need to be toward the end game.

I was looking on the forum for CVN tips and hints which may be of use and found myself here, the OP was useful but the subsequent comments less so. While there is no alternative to experience does anyone have any nuggets of info they'd like to impart?

Simply add a bot while making sure the "armed" option on that bot is disabled (this makes sure its AA will be turned off as well)

You can decide if you want a stationary target or if you want the "active" box ticked (enables the bot to move).

Brilliant rnat - will give that a go. Thanks.

Or practice in coop, noone cares if you do it bad there. It's just bots you are playing against.

I can't do that until I can handle the CV and aircraft properly and have some strategies lined up - I'll happily go into Co-Op to finesse my playing.  I think it's important to not let other players down even in Co-Op...there are a lot of us that only play Co-Op and for newbies it's their first taste of the site so (unlike some others - present company excepted) I'd like to be able to demonstrate a little professionalism.

Well, do be honest current carrier system yes easy to learn but is completely atrocious, generally a bad implementation  and who ever designed that current aiming system should be fired and whats Langley doing in IV its barely worth of tier II? What comes training to use CV in Coop people should be forced togo throught some training mode even if monkey can learn current system especially when Coop matches end before lets say Langley players have  chance to do something.
