If the dive bomber squadron is down to its last 3 planes and a drop run is initiated, instead of going up, down, forward (as normal), the planes go up, then start flying down in circles uncontrollably. Therefore, the drop reticle wobbles sideways in an undefined way, instead of going towards the normal 2.0 km point of aim.

(Checked: only happens with Hakuryu, not with Shokaku, Ryujo or Midway)

  
2. Reproduction steps

1. Get a Hakuryu dive bomber squadron

2. Drop the first 3 strikes off such that only 1 strike remains

3. On 4th strike, bug happens

 
3. Result

Strike reticle is thrown off its normal path, accuracy does not converge normally, accurate drop on target impossible

 

4. Expected result

Planes fly normally straight up and down onto the previously displayed 2.0 km point of aim, accuracy circle converges, drop goes on target

 

5. Technical details

Replay (Ocean training room) attached, multiple, consistent occurrences

Same bug also happens on Hakuryu rocket planes: right at the end of 4th strike run, planes fly in circles and sometimes even get stuck in circles.

Replay below: bug at 12:53. Reproducible.

 

In that replay, also the "cannot launch any planes" bug is visible from 10:35. Seems to be provoked when launching squad very quickly after returning to CV from last squad.

 

Also in the replay: when controlling the carrier, using manual secondaries (Ctrl-click) is not working. This is very important for secondary CVs like Graf Zeppelin for the dps boost.

 

One more: please add back the auto-pilot control via minimap click. I'm used to that from the old version.

Ship controls are not working - tried default settings as well as mapping new keys, unable to move forward/back or left/right. Other mappings are working: shell selection, smoke screen, sonar, etc. so not a fault with the keyboard. Tried logging out to no effect, also tried other ships but nothing works. Impossible to test this version

playing with tier x cv midway.

i play severel times now first launching the planes is oke .

but then when you play for severel minutes and you try to launch a rocketplane .

and dit is not always they do not take off.

the only controle at this time is from your carrier what reponse.

you cannot  launch planes any more

drop ALL torpedos

 

torpedo planes, bombers-

pls. give an option to drop ALL torpedos or bomb at once !!!!!!!!!!!

 

solution: 

after doubleclick ALL torpedos, bombs droped from planes.  

(after this - no possibility to do second attack -- weapons empty)

1. Description

Unable to launch planes.

When going back to the CV with planes still active, the view returns to the CV, have total control of CV but cannot launch planes.

Seems to happen when leaving a squadron with just 1 plane that is circling continuously.

  
2. Reproduction steps

It is random, had it happen twice during the test, I have recorded the video so can provide if necessary.

 

 
3. Result

Unable to launch planes, but retain full ship control.

 

4. Expected result

 

5. Technical details

Have a video file, captured as it all went wrong, can supply if needed but it is quite large, not a replay.

Ships can appear to be moving in port.

No idea how to reproduce.

same : reverse and right (s,e and d or every other key bound to these controls) work, forward, left not working.

solution: first bind defaults for a qwerty keyboard (WASD), then change to ZQSD

Thanks for the solution. I'll be trying it out. 

 

I do hope the control issue gets fixed by release as it's impossible to play without the steering controls. It seems like an issue for non qwerty keyboard (in my case azerty) layouts though.

 

Edit: suggested solution doesn't seem to work on my end. Possibly I'm not doing it right though. :(

public test refuses to set ship handling.

Just played one game, because of the controls bug. I have a QWERTY keyboard, "forward" key didn't work, keymap didn't work.

1. Description

It's effectively impossible to rebind movement and consumable keys, making gameplay on non-QWERTY layouts impossible without directly modifying preferences.xml, because Ship Movement, Cruise Control and Aircraft Controls all share a keybinding scope/context, the game refuses to allow duplicate bindings despite the default bindings being overlapping.

 

As a related bug, changing any keys under Camera Settings, while it does use a separate binding scope, does not persist across game restarts, and hasn't for a year-ish.


2. Reproduction steps

Go into settings, bind a new key for anything in Ship Movement, Cruise Control or Aircraft Controls that is already occupied by any binding in another of these groups. This also affects consumable bindings, and probably more.

 
3. Result

Any preexisting keybind in these groups is unmapped.

The separate movement contexts should use separate binding scopes and allow overlapping keybindings, which is how the default keys are set up to begin with.

boosting through a cycle after pressing boost consumable!

 

i boost to almost end of the boost bar, then i press R to refill the boost bar and my planes keep boosted speed for 8 to 12 seconds without depleting the boost bar.

 

will try to get screenies later tonight when back home.

a couple of times after taking off with a squadron it would move ot one direction by itself no matter what key i was pressing to alter the flight. After around 10 seconds it resumed to normal controls.

Xendrios : I don't read the forum often, so I only see it now, also have azerty.  I don't know if your checking this second test of PT0.8.0 , and maybe it's already fixed for this repetition.

But I test it in the training room (you can see this at battle types), with an non-shooting bot opponent, press escape to access menu/for rebinding keys, choose default and see if that works, then click on a button to change key used, and so on.

saves you the frustration.

PT didn't run then yet, then you get this error (usually it's over the weekend, see WOWS news for details on website)

PT0.8.0 repetition 2 : when setting auto-pilot, way-points are visible on map and mini-map, but they are not visible in the ship view of the GUI.

Fighter squad dropped by plane consummable eats CV escort fighters for breakfast because somehow the laters don't bother to attack the formers when they are in contact.
