This whole mess came about because WG want to encourage people to play CV's sorry but if the majority of your player base dont want to play a certain class dont try to force them.

Players who wanted to play CV arent happy either so basically WG have pissed off most of the players that have in some cases been paying money to them, the whole thing is in my mind

totaly focused on console players and while they may get some to try out WOWS as its a free game i cant see many sticking with it as its not going to appeal long term against FPS games, console bread and butter.

TBH i played so much over the holidays with all the snowflake and other missions that ive not played for a while now and probably wont due to the new AA (ive been playing BF 5) .

If as i susspect others do the same after the patch WG will have issues with people discovering other stuff and not spending on WOWS. :Smile_coin:

I will not play the new Carriers for sure. I wanted to play warships and not pilots. There should be an option for allowing gamers to play the present Carrier style.

The AA at tier 8 and 10 is just too strong, even with all the possible health modules and captain skills for the planes. You really need to find some very isolated BB (same tier as yours) far far away from all other ships in order to be successful. Which wont happen much in randoms. Tier 4 and 6 are somehow balanced now and playable. You still can do damage as CV there without being too OP. Tier 8 and 10 CVs on the other hand are not fun to play at all. Most of the time you fly around trying to find some  lone wolf and to attack him. And even if you find some, same tier as yours, you are losing planes like crazy. With a tier 6 CV I can do more damage than with a tier 8 CV...

Is this true and correct? Does it refer to the Ranked Battles (incorporating the "buff" thing from old "Arms Race" mode)?

 

If true, why don't I see a combat mission in the missions screen saying this?

Are we really expected to get 500,000 XP on the test server to unlock a T10 ship if we want the 24h premium reward? Seems...well it's obviously an error since that's the kind of thing EA would do deliberately, not WG. Either way, I don't think I'll bother playing the test server anymore, can't get the rewards so may as well just wait for it to go live.

 

For the sake of productive testing feedback, the balance seems fine to me in terms of AA vs planes. Bombers seem a little pointless as the other types are both easier to hit with and switching 2 types means you never run out. Might just be the way I play them though, managed trouser kraken unleashed on coop though so torps definitely work (it's trouser kraken in coop).

 

All that said, the style of gameplay isn't what I play WoWS for. I don't like it any less than the current carriers and it does seem less likely that one person can influence the result so heavily but I'm not going to play them much. I am worried that the new AA mechanics are going to make other ships less enjoyable though, not a big fan of this sector thing as it seems like it'll double the micromanagement we currently have (current level is good imo). Also the fact planes are player-controlled does mean it's basically harder to dodge drops if they're any good, although at least there will only be 1 drop at a time, unless you get double CVs working together in which case any ship they target is absolutely screwed, more so than ever before.
