Lone T8 vs T10's

So I am just curios why a lone tier 8 cruiser needs to face tier 10's like this.

At least put a nice dress on me when you f me over like this

They put you there to give you a chance to prove yourself against superior opposition. When you come top, you can gloat to your tier X teammates.

You're overestimating smoke on cruiser with like 8km detection in it.

T8 MM is a pain but it strongly depends on the ship.

On your average T8 CA or BB or pretty much screwed. 

DD just needs to be more cautios 

 

or you have a Kutuzov in which case you just laugh at all those T10 BBs burning...

true...with the huge nerf to that the smoke became useless...I barely use it these days other than as a getaway mechanic ... smoking up and stealth firing is a thing of the past

I had this issue when I grinded the old New Orleans.

 

Much lulz is had when your guns don't pen or set fire to anything but I got through it...

I find this to be very true.

Lately (as WG was so nice to hand out Kutuzovs ) ive been playing Shchors/Kutuzov, some days both consecutively.

They are damage farmers. The influence they can have is not that great alone.

Chapa with Radar can deal with DDs by himself, while the Kutuzov has to rely on someone else to help it. You can fight DDs easier because of the smoke, but at the same time it opens you up for

- getting torped

- getting spotting in smoke

- getting shot at in your smoke by BBs.

 

Also i agree with @bloodynicknames , sitting in smoke is really bad these days. Makes you much more vulnerable than open water full speed wiggling gun boating.

Some games i didnt even have to use all my smokes - which is only 3.

Like T7 MM is much better, I still remember King Grog tha Filth.

True though I get this a lot in Monarch, have to be careful else you get deleted quickly.

Result: low damage. And always steamrollers IF you have a victory isn't helping much either.

Lol sadly it's not confined to tier 8. Played 4 games today in Tier 6 (all of them collapses) and not one game in my tier. All 4 were tier 8. Also I should add 3 of the 4 games had CV's. I get what your saying but it's no fun lower down either.

When you are uptiered TWO tiers usually you are just cannonfodder (unless you're pretty good).

What happens is usually this:

- you have to be VERY careful, else you get DELETED pretty soon;

- IF there is a moment that you can do damage, well, it will be LESS than what you'd do at your own tier;

- if the enemy decides to be any good, or your own team decides to fail, there is NOT a lot you can do.

---> so you will have less influence on the outcome, and usually a lot less XP. 

 

Of course, games happen where you get A LOT of numbskulls in the enemy team. Even at two tiers up.

Then the one that you set fire to (because your AP wouldn't do bubkus anyway) decides to use DamCon rigth away,

and then he keeps on sailing in the open (hey after all you are two tiers lower) and you start TWO fires on him....

and you manage to get away with it.

 

Then, if you are so lucky it is NOT another roflstomp (usual in higher tiers...), you can do a good score.

Do not be amazed if that HE-spamming BB at the map border still ends up higher than you, though.

I just dont get why they uptire a LONE tier 8 & 9 and let them face tier 10's. There is something completely bonkers with the matchmaker

Could be, or there were just 28 of T8/9 on the server. 

24 got a T8/9 match, meant you had to wait for them to finish, so they threw you in a T10 match.

IMO: best matches. Slight adaptation and all the more income for me. I totally love the matches in which I'm the only T8. OK. 95% of the times.
