Whats wrong with the symbols? As far as I can see it is the coat of arms of Bohemia (front), Moravia (left), Silesia (right) and Slovakia (back or top), all of which where part of Czecho-Slovakia as it formed in 1918?

He means the hyphen symbol... Czechoslovakia is correct but youll hear otherwise, mostly from Slovak nationalists. You see how ricidulous both Czech and Slovak language can be sometimes...

In English texts the proper noun has always been "Czechoslovakia" and the adjective "Czechoslovakian".

 

Proper nouns vary from language to language, hence you get "Londýn", "Anglicko", and "Spojené kráľovstvo".

The slovaks have always had a small [edited] problem and all of this perfectly lines in. (This coming from a hungarian, which country also always had the biggest small [edited] problem. Pretty sure that Hungary and especially Slovakia are usually not considered part of the Balkans, at least by most definitions.

If im not mistaken, it was only in 1948, that the contry turned communist? And it was called Czechoslovakia before? Counter-question: If WG would put the "-" in - wouldnt we face the same outrage from czech players? That hyphen-war seems to suggest that. Maybe we should let history be history and not look at it that serious? I know, its easy for me to say, since it doesnt concern me, but think about this way: Is it going to change anything in the world? We dont even have navys from said contries in the game (big surprise). That said - I dont know why we have this symbol in the game at all...

Well, I think the OP is, in fact, fighting a good fight. However, his credibility is hurt by the fact that he HIMSELF doesn't start a sentence with a capital letter.

 

Plus, you should just be happy they don't confuse you with Slovenia.

Actually, Czechs generally dont care about that... Sadly some Slovaks' feelings are still hurt because they saw us as an older abusive brother, so much in fact, they joined the Axis in WWII on their own....
