no, I am pretty sure that you don't have to fullfill all tasks, so the "free" techtree nations should be enough I guess.

Lets hope so, thx!

As I read it from here:https://worldofwarships.eu/en/news/game-updates/prinz-eitel-friedrich/

"The rules of this event will be similar to the rules of the "Royal Navy" Campaign, but this time it will contain one Stage and four Directives, each offering 10 to 11 combat missions. All available combat missions can be undertaken simultaneously. The next Directive will become available upon the completion of six combat missions, but not before its scheduled start date."

"The final Directive is comprised of 11 combat missions, each to be completed with ships of a specified nationality only."

You have to complete six combat missions, but that means you'll need to use ships from six different nationalities.

( I chose Germany-North, Germany-West, Germany-East, Germany-South, Royal Navy & France)

Well you can rush your [edited]off to get it ASAP, finishing the other two missions still

Edit: but yes, effectively you need to buy it.

About rushing :cap_cool::cat_cool:

I had a rush a year ago for the Duke , but since it got a winrate cap with 0.7.4... so i am not looking good

nothing about "each mission - different nation" I do not believe WG would push that far.

I fear for the MM as the news article states ONLY Prinz Eitel Friedrich can be used for the 400 Steel Missions...

This is exactly my worry as well - While the rest of the concepts for earning steel are more or less reasonable (as long as we ignore the main question if steel should be up for grab for practically anyone outside of competitive playmodes),

but the fact that you have to grind through 5 stages of missions in a T6 ship during a limited period of time will make this a struggle.

T6 is a very bad tier for MM anyways, especially for a T6 BB.

only good news is that it more it get uptierred the more XP and DMG can be farmed in the missions :)

on the other hand it is also considerably good that except the first mission (ribbon grind) the rest cannot be efficiently completed without playing with the ship reasonably well. (unlike the 1st mission were I'm planning on to fit the ship with a full secondary build, sail into the middle of the map and collect lots of ribbons with secondary battery hits - that's in my mind the fastest to reach 300 ribbons, eh?)

WG could atleast make it German Ships of T6 or more.

The MM will be a mess as everyone is going to want that sweet Steel buff so you can't begrudge the players for all getting into the German T6 Hood...

Buy this, buy that... give us your money, look, pretty shinny steel (steal?!, dont know, im bad at english/russian/rippoff language) . So besides grinding during the hollidays for PEF (very good idea, nothing else to do), everything else is for sale, those reward ships are tier 6 ships from tech tree. To be true, exactly what i expected from wg.

It looks like 4019 steel BUT it seems WG resigned from a "paid" mission for steel (?) and just put a requirement to have Prinz Eitel.

UPDATE: I was wrong.

"Drop into the Premium Shop, where you can find a variety of bundles featuring this ship, as well as a special pack with access to a campaign called "Steel Monsters". We will be covering “Steel Monsters” soon where you will be able to get even more Steel, so keep an eye on the Portal!"

OFC, WG doesn't sell missions for steel. It sells Prinz Eitel bundled with a steel mission :cap_cool::cap_money:

How is a free to play game going to convince people to spend money if there's no incentive to spend any?

Posts like you are just EDIT.

So... am I an illiterate fool or do we need to complete the PEF-exclusive campaign to get the ship's camo? Or it's an alternative camo, not the one advertised...? Just a halfwit asking, please be civil.

Don't forget about the Snowflake event. So, I think the MM won't be that terrible, at least during the first days.

Snowflakes will be done in co-op mainly, so it will not influence MM that much.

So +- week to finish campaign if and the nerves of steel if you don't buy the ship? Seems like a pretty forceful push to buy the "free" ship.

Also the nation locking / locking to PEF will probably make it quite unfun (so many games with one ship)

So when can I purchase the ship? 20th?

It's not too bad a deal when you consider you get the amount in Doubloons back of the value of the ship.

" If you already have Prinz Eitel Friedrich in your Port, you will receive 6,800 doubloons as compensation"

If every new directive from the event comes around on Thursday, technically you should be able to get PEF freely on the 10th of January at the earliest. Giving you some 11 or so days to complete the campaign, 14 to complete the 5 "Nerves of Steel" missions etc. That's alright.

What matters is how fast you can actually complete that last directive from the 10th. If it's too much of a grind (and too specific as far as ship criteria for completion go), you can run into problems.

Not a fan at all of how they have done this so instead of drawing me into play a lot more  WoWs I think I may take a total break instead (not a fan of the blatant money grab of buying the PEF and the buy campaign) I am happy to spend money on these games but this is getting more and more like WOT per week :(
