The only reason imho to not publish the odds for each type of prize from these boxes is because the odds are not fixed. WG have, it appears, reserved them selves the ability to adjust the odds of winning various prizes based on who knows what...could be simply to give better prizes as rewards or for promotional material (e.g. cc videos) or completely innocent reasons.

The problem here for me is it appears WG are not being transparent and open in what clearly is a gamble on the part of the customer and appear to be using dubious practices to encourage said gambling, such as suggestive and possibly inaccurate advertising.

Strange thing...All those that gain ships in Santa's containers have too few posts but belong to a clan. Maybe its just a coincidence. Naaaahhhh it can't be something like "planted" advertising...naaaahhh!

More like 0.01% or less.

It's a joke, WG has become stingy, as if those boxes were worth what they are charging for them. They even nerfed the new years mission collection rewards, because content people unlock by playing must suck.

You are trying to convince us that you gave 272 Euros just to "test" if WG is telling the truth?  Strange....So if you spare some extra 272 EUROS sent them  to me to make my own test.

I am not aware of any particular order in the crates, the ships are not selected from an ordered list, but from the total pool of available ships.

If you are talking about the list on the portal, this is ordered to highlight some of the ships that are usually not obtainable.

Alabama and Giulio Cesare 'are usually not obtainable'? Has this been announced before?

Belgian here, and for me it worked without any issue, even without having to relogging, restarting,... Maybe contact support?

Didn't had to time to bother with support. Anyways. The gifts are here now - since the server updated to 7.12 - everything is there, where it was supposed to be. Not sure if they were giving the gifts away twice. But - they are here now!

I'm a rather new player. I just researched my first T7 yesterday...

made my first purchase ever for the game: bought 2x5 mega and 20 big.

got the Monaghan and Krasny Krimm from the mega and the DeGrasse/Perth/Texas from the big.

Moreover i've got 6k doubloons 160 NY camo combined..

So I'm kinda dissapointed as i was expecting / hoping for a higher tier but as seeing the ships standalone prices i can t say that i lost..

reading many posts about odds i have to say, in my humble opinion: of course the higher tier the lower chance to get one. And considering lots of people already own some of the ships available in the crates the chance of getting what you want or some of the 'rare ships'  is decreased exponentially.

They should be renamed as 'Flag & Camo' boxes.

All i got was usless crap that I wouldn't buy in a million years - thanks WG.

Maybe WG should introduce RNG when we pay for something, oooh a 99% chance we wouldn't have to pay anything!!.

This is exactly how randomness works....

Nothing in a computer can be truly random.

The way wargamings RNG behaves is more like allot of the RNG dip into the same pool of entropy and exactly this pool eventually it runs out and the chances go up in bursts before more entropy is re introduced into the system and chances go completely to "as designed" for a bit i.e. you get the maximum spread possible.

Now if I where to hazard a guess I would say as soon as its decided that you "won", there is a second draw taking place.

For example what rarity of premium do you get ?

It does not stop there though according to the description of those santa gambling boxes.

Lets say you get a premium that you already own, well congratulations you have been selected for yet another RNG draw and now we will see what you get in your supercontainer.

And so on and so on.

Long story short, some people open boxes at exactly the right time because the system is set up to try to be impartial, but because attempting to make something truly random is a [edited]science, Wargamings RNG it is not really "truly random". And most people want fair rewards not random anyways.

Now make everything nice and shiny.

Put some "great rewards" (super rare ships) under a pile of dirt (camos / flags).

Edit: Make sure this dirt is available year round for silly prices that no sane person would purchase as to seem as fair value.

Add multiple layers of randomness.

Sprinkle the rewards with additional percentage based "chances".

Dont tell anybody about any chances and how they are stacked.

Then finish this by offering a great discount by just offering you more chances at taking these multiple chances for a little less money so it looks like good value.

And if you dont get a nice reward, hey ... you still get your moneys worth because we gave you those 25 flags that are totally worth money.

If that is not gambling I do not know what is.

As a new player to WoWs I'm fairly impressed by the gift boxes. I've just bought a 'Big' set of 20 and got four premium ships, the Krasny Kryn, Oct. Rev., Prinz Eugen, and Tirpitz. Whatever the merits of each ship that alone is £100 worth of ships at full price in the Premium Shop, all for £37, plus the other stuff. Don't worry, I'll wait a bit before stinking up Tier VIII Random Battles with the Tirpitz :Smile_Default:

You can still play these high tier premiums in coop without any wrong doing :Smile-_tongue:

Can even make some credits that way.
