Due to the legislative restrictions recently established in Belgium we have been forced to remove access to containers sold in the Premium Shop for players residing there.

Belgium is really a funny little country.

They regard loot boxes in video games to be gambling that they must protect people from.

But they have no qualms forcing half of Europe into a radioactive fallout lottery EVERY DAY they are running their ancient, crumbling nuclear reactors in Tihange and Doel.

Either I don't get it or the Ship drops are bugged / not working as advertised.

I just watched the video of Flambass opening a load of Santa gift boxes.

First box holds a Krasny Krim which he says he has already and will be converted to gold. Some boxes later contain 2x Monaghan and a Roma, which he also says he already has.

So according to the News bulletin, that should mean that he in fact already has all the ships on the Santa list, because it says otherwise the Santa box with a ship he already had would have been converted into a Supercontainer with a ship he didn't already have.

But then comes 15:02 where he gets a Supercontainer with a Marblehead in it.

I quote the text from the News:

Zitat

"If you get a ship that you already own, it will automatically be swapped for a different ship from the list. In this situation, a Santa container dropped onto the transport ship in the Port will be changed for a supercontainer, and you will get a ship that comes with a Port slot and Commander with 10 skill points.

If you get a ship that is already anchored in your Port and have collected all the ships that have a chance of being dropped in Santa's containers, the transport ship will be displayed with a Santa container placed on its deck. Once you open the container, you will see the ship it initially carried. That ship, however, will not steer into your Port. Instead, you will receive the ship's price in doubloons, a Port slot, and a Commander with 10 skill points."

So what should have happened is that first Krasny Krim should have been converted to the Marblehead Supercontainer, shouldn't it?!

And the first Monaghan box should have been converted into the SC with the Gascogne he got after the Marblehead.

EDIT: I just thought of an alternative possible explanation, which is that Flambass might be confused and have multiple accounts, and he in fact had all those ships in his main account, but he was logged into some other account he may have when he opened the loot boxes.

However, that would only explain the first Krasny Krim and the first Monaghan. But there comes a second Monaghan right away. This could only be possible if the Krasny and Monaghan had been the only two ships missing in that putative other account. So it still doesn't explain the Supercontainers and the second Krasny.

When you're in some sort of WG blacklist, there's no point in even trying. Remember that. Got a bunch of containers, no free xp, no coal, no gold, no ships. ONLY crap camos. Thanks for the Christmas scam WG. You got my money , you are happy, that's what matters for you. I just feel so stupid and ignorant right now for taking a chance when i should have known better.

They say "gifts" but you have to buy them.

Nice idea on meaning of gift.

I never will buy again something from this greedy company. Years of experience with them tell me only to never trust of them.

Only EDIT try to pass off stuff you sell as "gifts". Really bad idea.

Also your game sucks. The matchmaker ruins the game totally. Its no fun playing with total EDIT 70% of the matches. Please fix if you want to give us a real Xmas gift.

You wrote exactly what I and many of my clan members think from long time: the matchmaker and balance is a secular shame. Unbelievable that they didn't fix this.
Days that you lose 18 /25 matches and they tell you that you deserve it because youa re not good player or because you are "unlucky".. this is their fantastic mentality and professionality to describe a huge problem with this game.

observe the end of matches: +90% of them ends with the total unbalance result between teams where you will find that the winner team has lost 0/1/2 ships while loser team will end without ships. Is it called "balanced" ? is that can be funny?

Personally after years of playing i think that i am totally tired, often I start to don't feel fun playing with this insane unbalanced system.
Or they fix it strongly or I and many people that I know, will stop day after day to play with this game.

I am sure that WG team simply will ignore my words because they are simply interested to earn money "today", don't care what will be

What's stopping you from gifting them to other players?

honestly I don't understand why you spend your time trying to defend WG or i don't know for what else.

first of all, you didn't understand what I wrote, then if i want to gift something to my friends in game, I will buy and then gift.
so, call them "Box", "ships", "flags", "dobloons" for what they are.. then, if i will buy and send as gift, they will become gift.

It is without sense to call gift something that you must pay.

Quick point to this. You are told the rewards in each box. You know the value (or can find out the value of these rewards). The Value in each box is equal to the cost in real money in terms of in game items. If you are lucky, i.e. your gamble pays off. You get an item worth far more than you already paid. Every box is worth what you pay in terms of in game items. Some boxes reward you more. Don't get upset you didn't get a ship. You already got your monies worth with in game items.

I bought a pack of 20 small crates.

Neeeh, just kidding. Coocked a barbeque for six with my family. Same amount. They agreed with me, best pack ever from WG. Daughter painted here face, have one flag on the house and 2 rubber ducks in a small pond shooting each other with 15 inch guns.

Really, people, you know from start that WG will ripp you off but it's your money, continue gambling and stop complaining.

And now lets be serious. I wont buy crates ever. Best way to avoid all of these. And i did a bbq. But i dont have 2 rubber ducks with guns..

Merry christmas and happy holidays !!

OK, as posted a couple of days ago, I decided to waste 30,61 € for gambling and bought 5 Mega and 5 Big "Gifts". Here is what I got:

5 Mega "Gifts":

1. 20 streamer camos
2. 2000 gold
3. 30 +777% free XP signals
4. 2000 gold
5. 2000 gold

5 Big "Gifts":

1. 1000 gold
2. 15 +50% credits signals
3. 10 streamer camos
4. 10 streamer camos
5. And... I can't believe it !1!!1 It happened!!

From the last big box I got the one and only, the most wanted, the rarest, the greatest, the most overpowered ship of all times ->

THE LEGEN... wait for it...DARY KRASNY KRYM !1!!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lets see the value of things I got, according to WG (WG VALUE!):
1. Gold = 7000 + 1 port slot = 7300 gold = 26,76
2. Tier 5 Boat = 12,67
3. Soviet Captain with 10 points = 183 000 XP = 7320 gold = 26,83
4. Value of Signals and Camos = 11,22 €*
   *1 Wyvern = 45000 credits => 15 are 675 000
     1 Ouroboro = 45000 => 30 are 1 350 000
     1 Streamer camo = 56250 => 40 are 2 250 000, all together in credits: 4 275 000
     Value of signals and camos in gold (1 gold = 1500 credits): 2850 gold = 11,22
Value of things I got according to WG: 26,76 + 12,67 + 26,83 + 11,22 = 77,48
-> BUT!! Irrelevant, because this value doesn't matter at all! It is a WG value!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

REAL SUBJECTIVE value of this stuff, or the only value that really matters for me (MY VALUE!):

1. Gold = 7000 + 1 port slot = 7300 gold = 26,76
2. Tier 5 Boat = 0, for me NO VALUE at all, would never buy the crappy thing for money.
3. Soviet Captain with 10 points = 0,  for me NO VALUE at all, would never buy a regular soviet 10 point captain for 26,83 €
4. Value of Signals and Camos = 0, for me NO VALUE at all, I would never spend 11,22 € in order to buy them, because I could get similar camos or signals for free, by just playing the game.

Real, subjective and only relevant value of things I got (MY VALUE!): 26,76

Conclusion:
-> € wasted for gambling: 30,61
-> € value of things I got: 26,76
Loss in €: 3,85

Not such a big loss, it could definitely be worse. There are 2 very positive things though:
1) I got the MIGHTY Krasny Krym, which is the first ship I ever get from container for a year playing WoWS (I thought it's impossible for me to get a ship from a box)!
2) Now the best part: because I already have this boat, it means I won't get it ever again from other containers or boxes in the future!!! :D

Cheers!

Well, last year I bought 1x5 big gifts, this year 2x5 mega gifts.

last years conclusion:

2x ships

some prem days

some doubloons

This years conclusion:

of the 10 box neither ships, nor doublons (prem days are out of the gamblings anyways)

:Smile_facepalm:

(sarcasm on)

well lets be positive, at least I earned 100 oil for my clan

(sarcasm off)

My 1st year (2nd month) at WoW and I bought 20x Mega gifts for my birthday:

4x Premium (Scharnhorst, Prinz Eugen, T-61, Monaghan)

4x 2,000 Doubloons

Camo & flags

I was hoping (like many fans of possibly the worst actor on the planet) for the Missouri, but alas...........

The real problem with the gambling boxes is that Wargaming never states the exact odds of getting a certain type of item. I guess they are not mandated to do, but for example if you check the ugly sister game of WoWs, the WoWs Blitz on Android (or iOS) there is an exact % odds given (written) for each container item that you may get - when you go in-game and check the container type description. I guess Google and Apple are mandating WG to do this...

as for my personal experience: I bought 5x big box for my son's account as a gift: He got the Krasny Krim (useless ship) and a bunch of flags. Disappointment.

Welp. For better or for worse. Govrnmnt decided to be [edited] this year after the whole EA Lootbox debacle.

Yet another reason for me to go "Gee, thanks EA..."

Was looking forward to waste a good portion of my fat christmas/newyear bonus on WOWS/WOT stuff, get me 20 of those mega boxes and stock up for 2019. But guess that's gonna be a nope.

I understand WG doesn't want to break the law. But at the same time, especialy in a holiday period such as this one, I would've atleast tried to think of an alternative option for an entire country worth of players to still somewhat enjoy the same stuff the rest of the world can enjoy. Cause right now I just feel left out in the cold, pun intended.

Did 6 Big Crates and 5 Small ones, Just Flags and Signals only.....

I also had 3 Supercontainers which game me, Coal, Free XP and Gold.

1 also had 2 Black Friday premium containers which game me Free XP

I was saving these till Christmas but my patience level is on par with my 4 year old so i caved in.

I'm actually glad I didn't wait... I was hoping for a ship of any kind or some gold but I would have loved to get a black ship but alias its not to be and after some thinking I'm not going to buy crates again either in this or any other game in the future.

Getting them through an event etc i'm okay with...

One year ago it was prooved when you purchased 5 biggest containers it was always ONE premium ship drop.
Now it seems ship drops are less than that.

My personal experience - i got one biggest container and t61 destroyer dropped.

After checking videos from Flamu Flambass and Mighty Jingles im not so sure to buy more of those.
Flamu got ONE ship from 60 containers- 20 biggest, 20 mediums and 20 small ones

Jingles - like 2 times marblehead dropped from 60...

Flambass see above...

Seems like WG get greedy...If there was guaranteed drop every 5 biggest containers- folks was waving with wallets.

With this drop rate - no thanx-

Mr Conway, what we need is the chance of getting each item. Whitout that we cannot make an informed decission. Does the chance of getting ships reduce as you get some of the list? (My empiric results sugest strongly that) Is the chance of getting the belfast smaller than any other tier 7? (Again my empiric results sugest strongly that)

Whitout that information and in the way the promotion is presented (1 in 56 besides the dices for example, suggesting the chance of any of the 56 is the same) this should easily fall under the catefory of false advertising.

Could you tell us how chance is calculated 1) to determine a ship over any other price 2) to determine an especific ship 3) to determine a substitute ship when a ship awarded is owned (content of the supercontainer)?

Thanks in advance @MrConway
