screen hangs on lineup screen but still puts me in game

since Patch 0.7.11 sometimes when I load into game it hangs on the ship lineup screen and I don't get a start button even though I get put into game, I have to restart the game and it takes about 5 minutes for me to get back into the game which by then I am either dead or have been reported for being afk, I know another 20 people in my clan who have the same issue and are quite fed up of loosing Karma because of a game issue

This is an old bug. I used to have it too ... but not for some time now.

 

I would suggest a clean install ... some say that mods effect it, but I am using aslain mods for years now, so I cant pinpoint what is causing a problem.

I would say its a faulty client.

I had this issue a few times several patches ago. For context, I've never installed any mods. I found that the following seemed (and I do stress *seemed*, I'm not sure if these were the cause of it getting better or not) to help avoid it:

 

– close all other applications while playing

– try a lower graphics setting

– under 'processes' in task manager, set the priority of worldofwarships.exe (or is it wows.exe?) to 'very high'.

– don't click 'battle' until port is fully loaded

– when starting the game for the first time after booting up, wait for the port to load fully, then close the game and restart it

 

I don't really know enough on the subject to say definitively that any of these will work in all cases, and I know slme of them are a pain, but they appeared to help in my case and were significantly less annoying than loading late.

Old bug.

 

If you used any mods, run the game in safe mode to see if the problem persists. If not, it's likely the mods that were the culprit and search for newer versions or uninstall them.

 

You can also run the check game integrity from the launcher settings to see if it detects anything with the gamefiles. Sometimes updates don't install correctly and you end up with corrupted files, etc..

 

If nothing of the above helps, a clean install is your best bet to at least make sure the problem isn't caused on your end. If the problem still persists after that it's time to get into touch with WG support and have them check if there's any problem on their end they can find though they'll obviously have you jump through the usual "have you tried turning it off and on again" procedure. If you're confident on your troubleshooting skills, you can ask support to escalate your case straight up to the specialists that will get a bit more hands-on with the issue, but that will require you being able to provide data and possibly having to run monitoring applications and then send copious amounts of data in the form of crashdumps, etc. to them, intersected with long periods of waiting for a response.

 

Something you can also check is your internet connection with pingplotter, etc.. If the client-to-server connection is having issues it can result in the same issues of simply not loading into the battle.

So the bug has returned then.

Hopefully I am not getting it ... especially in clan battles would really suck.

Funny thing is that you can actually watch the battle on the mini map in the loading screen :)

So the connection is there, its just that the client does not switch to battle for some reason.

its nothing to do with my internet or PC its the game as its happening to almost all of us in the EU clan

Just now I got stuck on the queue screen. After waiting for about a minute for the lineup to load, I gave up and restarted, arriving in the battle about five minutes late. Fortunately I arrived just in time to sink a pair of enemy destroyers attacking me, and the game was a win, but it could easily have been ruined by this bug.

 

This happened right after I had tried and failed to enter battle, with a message I have never seen before, saying the server was overloaded and telling me to try another battle type or to try again later. I had tried to queue for random, and it was my first battle after just starting the client. I play on Mac so I'm used to encountering crashes left and right, but this was completely unheard of.
