Izumo + Musashi or Yamato

I've researched the Izumo, but I still need to grind the credits for it. I also have 680000 free XP.

What to do next:

1. Buy the Izumo and collect more free XP to get the Musashi
2. Free XP the Yamato and get a permacamo for it (skip the Izumo, forget the Musashi)

Basically I fear that the grind with Izumo would be boring or frustrating and also that the Musashi has low AA which would make it a port queen after the carrier rework. Also, earlier I got bored with the Nagato grind and quit the game for several months because of that. I was quite enjoying the Amagi, on the other hand.

Id advice you not to free xp to tier 10 until you have become better at playing your current tiers

I have both Musashi and Yamato.

I got Musashi from Arsenal using coal.

I have used Free XP to speed-up the Izumo grind to Yamato.

Even with the carrier rework, Musashi will be a great BB. It's a premium ship and not all games will have a CV so I wouldn't think about the carrier rework to much.

If Musashi is (still) available in Arsenal, don't use Free XP for it.

Grind out Izumo to get Yamato, then get Musashi if you like Yamato playstyle, if you can grind out the Yamato before Musashi get's removed that is.

Buy Izumo and get Musashi. Take into account that Musashi will be pulled out of purchase on 0.8.0 and god knows when it will come back. Also having a Premium Yamato at TIX will help you grind Izumo and also learn how to play yamato.

Depends. If you want to particiapate in Ranked battles get Yamato.

Izumo has some of the most accurate main guns in game. Just like others i did not spend free XP to get Mushashi but Coal .

This has a possitive feature that even in defeats you can have a profit (gained credits-those for expences) from 150k credits and reach with a victory and a good game up to a profit of 400k credits.

Yamato is better but its credit consumming.

All three BBs have the same problem though. The idiocity of WG developers that made HE SHELLS OP and every single shot ignites to a fire making those beasts easy to sink by a single destroyer.

Their HUGE guns have no effect on destroyers because WG made that call! In a year almost all players will play only Destroyers weaiting in line like the same idiocitu made the World of Tanks Dev team with OP autoloader tanks!

My advice would be to get Musashi. You can use Musashi to grind more credits and train your commander while getting more experienced at tier 9 with a ship that is better equipped for this.

You can always decide later to either collect more FXP and skip Izumo anyway or play Musashi for credits and purchase Izumo later.

I wholeheartedly recommend that you play the "Izumo" - this is the best way to "learn the ropes"!

Also "Izumo" is nice ship (I grinded her before recent buff - so it is even better now and does not deserve the bad reputation):

Musashi is a fun boat. Sure, usually she ends up in T10 battles where she's basically a weaker Yamato. But some times, you get to troll the living daylights out of some poor bugger in a T7 BB with those marvelous 18" guns. Also, she makes a fair bit of cash and is going to go away (possibly forever) soon.

That said, looking at my own winrate in her, I can certainly see the temptation to skip the Izumo. I know that objectively speaking she's not a bad battleship, she's just tricky to get to work (at least when you're used to the Amagi, which is basically a cruiser that ate all the pies). Her guns are indeed marvelously accurate, but they also feel very trollish in my experience. I get a lot of bounces and overpens that I really wouldn't expect. And while her survivability on paper isn't as bad as it used to be, I think she suffers a lot from being really big and easy to hit, as well as not really having the agility to easily get out of a bad situation.

I know it's mostly an issue with my play style, but in the Izumo I tend to end up either playing her too cautiously (not getting much use out of her) or too aggressively (ending up in a situation I can't get out of and getting focused down). While in ships like Amagi I have more agility to work with.

I do a lot better in the Musashi, despite not really playing any better in her. But that probably says more about why they want to take her out of the shop than it does about my skills. The combination of those guns and that kind of survivability with T9 matchmaking and T9 premium earning coefficients make her fairly potato-proof.

I would grind Yamato. Izumo is much better than reputation. Also I would get permacamo for Yamato (I have it and it makes plenty of credits). If you have option to use some gold, you can still grind your captains in real Yamato, instead of in that cheap copy. Then just respec the captains with 500g.

I'm not a BB main, so am a bit clueless on the subtleties of the ships under discussion.

That said: Musashi is being removed soon (next but one patch, from memory?), and after that you'll only be able to get her through being spectacularly lucky with crates. Statements from WG are strongly suggestive that future equivalent ships will cost rather more, in whichever resource you can get them for.

If you think there is the *slightest* chance that you can (or will be able to) make use of Musashi, maybe consider her? In terms of deadline, we don't know yet definitively, but if it is the next but one patch, and if WG follow the usual patch schedule, Musashi (and Kron) should be for the chop in mid-late Jan...

You are rushing to tier 10 too fast. Please play tier 7-8 for at least 1000 battles more by leveling up different nations or branches.

You're gonna have a hard time at tier 10 with so little experience.

Get Musashi! She will be removed around mid-January and you will most likely not heaving second chance.

You can grind Yamato always.
