Atlanta is a premium ship so you cannot even specialise him to Atlanta. Atlanta will take any captain with full skill without retraining.

So he has an Atlanta specialisation and you want it on another ship ?

he was my atlanta captain before .  on a mistake i did assign him for a DD but now he has back on atlanta but the retraining part requires 75k xp !!!

I get it. The problem is not that he doesn't work well on the Atlanta but the fact that the next 75k captain XP on your Atlanta will be wasted in a useless retraining.

I think you're screwed. Maybe send a ticket to explain your mistake to WG, they will correct that. Or you can specialise him on a ship that is close to Atlanta, like Helena, Cleveland or Worcester so that at least the 75k XP will not be wasted.

Well there's always the option of paying up.

500 doubloons isn't even 2 Euros.

I did find out if you put a captain on the wrong ship by accident you can put it back to the right ship without any "harm done." He'll still be trained for the original ship. I guess provided you haven't played a battle with him.
