Just melted one with my Massachusetts. Hard to justify not spending the extra. Or you could see if you get it in a crate first.

at tier 6 what advantage do 406 guns have over 381? The only thing you’ll face that can bow tank one and not the other are a couple of tier 8 cruisers.

You can overmatch the Hipper sisters and Baltimore if you come in a Tier 8. But that is not really a justification buying it...

Just stick to Warspite.

This, but unironically. Cololrado is awesome with it's guns IMHO.
Having the same guns a tier lower is unprecedented.

I bet this ship will be a devastator.

Isnt the Mutsu a Tier6 Nagato but crap?

Reminds me of the (rather magnificent) end of Merlin in the second Kingsman film...

The only way i'm seeing myself getting this ship is via new year boxes.

Sorry WG in my book it's a pass.

Now if you were to sweaten the deal by throwing it, oh let's say... a Kitakami, then i'd be all over it :Smile_trollface:

Mostly because of her Type 88 shell, making penetrating stuff you do mot overmatch hard. Had she Nagato guns she would be hilarious, but fragile. Kind of like Ashitaka.

West Virginia does not have that issue, but got Standard Battleship speed, which is a dealbreaker for many.

What with the Captain and the fact it's the 1941 version I think they aiming this squarely at US players who will buy it for the same reason a lot of us Brits bought Vanguard and Dreadnaught, not because it's a killer ship in game but because it is an iconic ship.

I'm not buying it, although I liked the Trollorado, but the weird camo, an allegedly  ridiculousAMAZING horn,... I'll pass...

Fixed that for you. I've rarely liked WG's "thematic" ships, but this one is cool.

My real big concern about the ship is the lack of AA and the upcoming CV rework. Will we have 3 Ryujos in every enemy team? Otherwise it's a real straight-forward ship. Monstrous guns for tier 6 -- anyone who understands BB's can make that work.

Thanks OP. Now I've been stuck with that song in my head for the entire day by now! The fact I actually really like it doesn't help much to get rid of it either. :Smile_teethhappy:

Parallel on topic: does anyone know  if Dusty Rodes have upgraded/ special abilities? Or is he just a "plain" captain with a withered face?

Just got home to a PC where using sound is not a bad idea - dear gods, that's magnificent!

It is, however, possible I may now be scarred for life though...

I've bought this ship and played a few rounds and I'm getting too much overpenetrations even against ships of tier 7 with AP. Also the shells are very inconsistent and I miss many shells at not so big ranges. And you can't take system aiming modification 1 like I could on French BB's?! what....?! The only usefull module I can take now is the plotting upgrade because AA sucks any way, same for secondary battery mod. But even at medium range the spread is bad, so I don't want the higher firing distance. Why can't I choose system aiming mod on this ship Wargaming? Or.... please fix the spread. Can anyone tell me how to play this ship, use more HE shells? And only fire AP at tier 7 USN and German BB's?

Yup. Save your AP for broadside ships or ones at long range where you can penetrate the deck armour.

That's what I do with Colorado. PLUS getting up really close works as well.

Fire HE at cruisers and blap them, but needs lots of goats for RNGesus.

Yes I'm really really strugling with the dispersion of the shells. I often miss all to most shells at even 8 to 10 km ranges. It's not fun to play this way. I'm playing a strategic shooter not a gamble lottery whether maybe 1 or 2 shells will hit while my aim is good and the ships are at close and normal ranges. Ships that show their broadside even get away with either my shells missing them (going in front or over them) or shells overpenetration and doing only few damage. I don't enjoy this ship and regret buying it. A waste of money.

Well it is a lot better than Monarch... but that is of course not much of a comforting thought either.

The solution is to not care too much and best shoot LARGE objects or REALLY close ones.

Also use the AP less (you can citadel most cruisers with the HE anyway, and angle doesn't matter).

I do not have a REAL solution though.... I have f to figure out the Colorado, same stuff, but one tier up.

He looks rather like John Wayne to me....

I spotted that myself. I think he is meant to:

So.. for any Duke fans out there, now's your chance to get John Wayne to captain your ships! (A very cunning plan on the part of the WG marketing department.) Ultimately, though, we can't be sure as there are a lot of real people with that name, such as the USN fighter pilot Raleigh Rhodes, for instance.
