That said, I have been 'filtering' a lot more lately i.e. applying a sort of 'triage' to events as they come along, and filing them under 'do if humanly possible', 'nice to do', and 'meh' - taking this sort of approach (and getting used to/comfortable with it, if you have a tendency towards being an obsessive 'completist') does help avoid the game becoming too much like work... One could argue that if you need to triage game content to manage your participation, it's too much by definition.

Some dont have a clan to do clan battles, then they play ranked. Some might not like ranked and also dont have a clan, so they need to have something to do aswell. In the end, people from the top clans that love the competitive side of the game pay the same ammount for a ship or premium account like someone who doesnt have a clan and only likes to play co-op. WG has to keep every current/potential customer happy.

True. The way I view it though is that there are plenty of people in the game who have sufficient time to do lots of stuff - much more than I do. It seems a bit unsporting of me to shout for a reduction in promotions to a level that I can comfortably handle, simply because I have less time available (or that I'm willing to spend) than they do. Also, from an entirely selfish viewpoint, if there is more stuff than I feel able to do, I can just pick the best things, so increasing the proportion of good rewards in relation to time spent getting them...
