You're aiming directly over the ship? But you considered, that ships are moving, while you're engaging the target? ^^'

I don't have issues with the aiming, guess just the mechanics are not really clear. It makes a difference, if you boost, slow down or move normally, before you start the dive

Honestly Wargaming your attempt to remove the odd tiers of the cvs is just pathetic.

It shows just one thing, a thing you really hate to be so blatantly obvious, that your matchmaker screws the odds tiers harder than the even tiers. It would be a cheap and lousy paintwork to cover the crack that is obviously there.
Instead of actually addressing the issue, suddenly the odd tier CVS are to be removed, what the hell is wrong with you? I mean are you that lazy? Those special role CVs will never come, you and me know this and even if. What will be picked a "scout" cv doing nothing but sending planes in circles or an actual fun CV that has decent strike capabilities? Well I know the answer, everyone does even you.

Other than the MM screwing up, another problem with CVs and AA is that it's so massively different over tiers. Frankly CVs should never meet ships of more than one tier difference. Not now, not after the rework. Ryujo felt absolutely useless even when fighting a team with 3-4 T8 ships. On the opposite, Midway feels invincible against T8 ships.

One more of the reasons CVs are such a problem in the game (and I feel they should be removed).

I had my Midway planes deleted by a Worcester player the moment I got anywhere near (note, I was desperately trying to NOT get near him). And I believe I even have as much plane health (and the armor resistance captain perk, if I get in close range AA) as possible on Midway. Weren't you attacked from too far away with torps for instance? AA range got nerfed significatly in effect since they can no longer be buffed (currently upgrade, AFT).

 

And the rewards are added to main accounts some time after the test is over.

Todays report of 3rd Round: 4 battles, 2Ws & 2Ls. Carrier play (mine & others) atrocious & BB & DD play (for me) fun (for killing CVs, as I got 2 more of them)

So far, 6 battles for me & 5 CVs killed. This is called shooting farm(ed) Turkeys (lol).

 I'm going to enjoy DD play (especially) when this FARCE CV rework is instituted.

Thats down to the speed of your aircraft when you start the attack. You can test it by doing the following:

  • Attack a ship whilst at full engine boost (W)
    • Notice how elongated the attack becomes and how shallow the dive becomes due to your forward momentum.
  • Attack a ship whilst going as slow as possible (S)
    • Notice how steep the dive becomes and how little forward motion you get.

Yes & No.

A Big No, because CVs (& a lot more) are going to be completely wreaked all to force, imho, an idiot change to the game.

A little yes, because good players may relentlessly hunt & kill these FARCE reworked CVs so that they get removed.

 Hence, mostly, No. Not good.

Damn aa on ships sucks. even whit captain specced on aa.  

you see planes circles you ships and just spam attacks on you and not even defensive aa kills them fast enough.

Hmm, after reaffirming that IJN CVs are pretty useless in comparison with US counterparts (all due to very ubiquitous US HE dive bombers), the game decided I had enough and basically froze on the image of my exploding bombers. Somehow my keyboard and mouse inputs still seemed to work (sounds were playing for launching planes, even shot down a plane that was apparently attacking my CV), but camera was stuck in time and space.

Then again it could have something to do with the fact i got disconnected right after the battle results briefly showed up. And cannot reconnect, in fact game is stuck on the swirly connecting thingie.

Hi,

 

sry if thats the wrong place for my question, but I dont know where to ask about the fate of the (premium) ships with non-existent AA protection. As I can see, games with at least 2 CVs per team will be something normal after the CV rework? Which will mean ships like Ashitaka for example will be totally useless.

 

In its current state Ashitaka can shoot down only a couple of tier 5 CV's planes and it is doomed against tier 6 CVs and above. After the CV rework (as we know there wont be tier 5 CVs, only tier 6 and 8) this ship will be even more than just useless, it will be a free kill.   

 

Are devs planning to buff the AA of such ships? If not, will we get the option for refund? I have only 9 battles with this ship, and I would like to get a refund if its AA stays the way it is now.

The new proposition of every 2 tier CVs new trees will be linked with HUGE balance problems:

- AA on ships in case of CV 2 tier higher will serve as some visual effects with no real impact on planes - it looks more like hunting in zoo (no risk of harm)

- in opposite situation will REALLY significantly limit the abilities of CV to do significant damage - it will cause that CV players will focus on spotting enemy DDs (good), but will  cause another problem with earnings - how properly value the spotting on XP and credits

- on TST server we have unlimited planes, but I expect that in final real life stage there will be some limits of planes number per CV - overstrength of AA in battles (t.i. 8 tier CV vs 10 tier ships) will cause an extra additional effect of "unicorns" on randoms games (I expect that in such cases after big blow after implementations - the cvs will be extraexceptional type of ships in longterm - no one want to spend time useless with minimal effect for own team and limited fun.

- WG should again reconsider the new CV tree build or liimitations for MM to only +/- 1 tier (on the very beginning - till balancing all aspects of the game will be done).

thx for being able to test this new cv mode

i thing it will work out good but  it hard to say if the will be some issus  when we stop playing aginst bots its not a problem to get 5+ kills on bots 

but i will thing is better to lets maybe 10 or 20 of us  try test in on the  live server  becous ppl a dont play like your bots do  WG

 

whit that sayt  i look forwood to have it going live

btw

what happen with devistating strike, king of the air, birst blood ... with these rework, you´ll nerver get this anymore!

 

Arsonists and liquidators are awarded just as rarely ...
I find it unfortunate that here on bending and breaking a rework is enforced just to convert it to another platform.

Maybe my proposal should be reconsidered. Leave the carrier gameplay as it is and continue to evolve and provide submarines exclusively for the console.
After all, submarines have the same uncomfortable control over the mouse and keyboard as the aircraft with the rework.

I played several battles with cvs and I must say I HATE the new gameplay.

Several times I saw how the enemy´s planes kept attacking the ships of my fleet and I couldn't do anything to prevent it. Also, I felt quite powerless. Despite hitting the targets over and over again I couldn't do much to help our team.

Each time I played with the new cvs I felt frustration in every kind possible. First by launching only ONE squad of something. And then the way this squads feels. Usually when I think in planes I think in something which is fast and agile. And this is not the case. I don't feel like I'm playing a ship (like I currently do. With the current cv gameplay I feel I control an AIRCRAFT carrier with planes.) and I don't feel I'm playing an aircraft game either.

 

Also, there is the imposibility of controlling your CV while using the planes. My cv was under attack from a nearby cruiser and from my planes I saw how torpedoes were heading towards the carrier. I had no way to control the carrier (not even with the main map) or even to tell it to slow down to avoid the torpedoes. Sure, I could press the F key and return to the main view of the cv. But that would make impossible to attack the cruiser and I would be dead anyways.

Planes does a vew low damage now and aren't useful at all. And I can't even use the carrier's weapons (like I do now. Hell, I use upgraded AA in my Zuiho, Ryujo and Kaga, and even I use manual secondaries on the Kaga as well and Im pretty sucessful on those ships).

 

Sure, lots of seals complained about cvs and I do know this new gameplay will happen anyways. But the only two things I really wish for the new gameplay are:

- Being able to switch back and fort from the plane squad to the cv.

- While controlling the cv having the posibility of giving your plane squad do automatic attacks (like one does with the current gameplay)

- And being able to manually use the carrier´s weapons (like in World of warships Blitz). So one would have a chance to defend the carrier from nearby threats.
