Fuse time on Vanguard [is it bugged?]

According to the Devblog, the release version of the Vanguard is supposed to have 0.033 (normal) fuse time on its AP shells:

Quote

09.11.2018:

ST. British battleship Vanguard.

  • Main battery reload time reduced from 28 to 25 s;
  • Main Battery guns receive an increase in the accuracy, similar to the accuracy of the battleship Warspite;
  • Increased damage from HE shells from 5300 to 6300;
  • Main Battery rotation speed has been increased from 4 to 5 g/s.

Previous changes have led to the desired level of survivability of the battleship, but the possibility of damage remained relatively weak and did not allow the ship to realize her full potential. The latest changes increase the combat effectiveness of Vanguard and make it more competitive at her tier.

Increasing the damage of shells to the level of Monarch will allow the battleship to choose between types of shells depending on the situation and equally effectively use each of them.

26.10.2018:

ST. Balance Changes. British battleship Vanguard, tier VIII

  • Consumable сhanged: " Repair team"
  • Cooldown: decreased from 80 (120) to 60 (90) seconds
  • Recovery efficiency: increased from 0.5 to 0.6 % per second
  • The citadel size has been reduced
  • The rudder shift time has been reduced from 16.2 to 9.72 seconds
  • The AP shell detonation time has been increased from 0.015 to 0.033 seconds
  • The detection range has been increased from 14.76 to 16.04 km
  • The visibility after firing MGs in smoke has been increased from 13.51 to 14.73 km

According to the test results, this battleship was too vulnerable to the AP shells of enemy battleships. Improvement of shells, reducing the size of the citadel and the acceleration of the rudder shift time will allow Vanguard to live longer and manoeuvre better under fire. At the same time a faster rudder shift compensates for the uncomfortable MG firing angles.

AP shells of the battleship often exploded without reaching the citadel of the target during the test. With the new fuse timings, AP shells will detonate more often in the citadel of targets, however, the number of overpenetrations will also increase.

Ingame though, the shells behave like 0.015 short fuse AP, that often struggle to properly damage broadside BBs.

also lists Vanguards shells still with 0.015 fuse time:

@Crysantos @MrConway can you clarify on this ?

Does the ship have the better fuse time like it was announced, or does it still have the shorter one ?

This could explain why my Vanguard(s) shoots tennis balls at flat BB and CA broadsides.....

Just had an idea for a new RN line gimmick: why not give BBs the two AP variants, so that this ammo choice becomes a relevant game decision?

Yeah  I'm finding the AP is appalling vs other BBs. To the point where HE is simply better even with the lesser fire chance compared to some RN Tech Tree ships.

Still the AP is great at crushing Cruisers without heavy armour...

Yeah - noticed something similar...and I'm just a potato.

So I'm dying to know what this is. Is it

a) A Communications F-up.

or

b) A Developer F-up.

Thx for the info.

Strange that wowsft and that side have different values for the same game version.

AP feels inconsistant for me. I have citadelled Roons and a NorCal, but on follow-up salvoes the damage is underwhelming. As these guns have the same pen as Bismarck, is it a problem with her?

I've been getting good salvos on Kurfursts 16k+ but that is when they are broadside and 12km away, seems to have trouble with BBs further out but you have HE to help with that, haven't had any citadels so far though, mind you only have had 5 games in her so far.

I just got confirmation from the dev team that the fuse time is indeed correct at 0.033 seconds.

Wouldn't be the 1st time WoWSFT is giving wrong information

They updated their data to the current patch and now list the fuse time with 0.033s.
