Listen to your own Music without copying files to WoWs

If you don't want  to copy  a bunch of MP3s,  there's the option to link a directory.

Assuming the standard locations are used, open a command prompt, as administrator and type:

mklink /d  \Program Files (x86)\World_of_Warships\res\userMusic  \Users\YouName\Music

Once this is done, WoWs will randomly play the files in your "My Music" folder.

If you have your Music / WoWs in different locations, alter the paths accordingly.

In my case it looked like this:

mklink /d  X:\Sim\WoW\res\userMusic  D:\Audio\Samples\4

Make sure to delete the res/userMusic  folder before doing this, if you already have one.

You truly telling us your PC can not play WoWs and your choice music player?

I have 3 screens and use one of them for youtube videos if feel like it.

Cool and all, but by letting wows play my music, doesnt it mean ill get random moments of silence as it doesnt always make sure that the music plays? It just randomly plays it some of the time right?

Thanks for the cool tip, but perhaps no thanks - With my stinking luck and godawful hearing any that kinda thing would only result in me missing all those incoming torpedo warnings with rather predictable consequences. :fish_boom:

Of course, one can run any music player in the background but that wasn't my point . . .

I was merely pointing out that, instead of creating a userMusic folder and copying a bunch of mp3s to WoWs, a simple symlink does the same.

Oh well . .  that's what you get for posting in a WG forum.

I am actually waiting for someone suggesting to turn on the radio . .
