Big Poll - economy status - Games/Premium/Doubloons/Credits/FreeXP/Coal/Steel

 

With all recent talk about more generous WoWs economy I wanted to check things out...

 

BTW, I do believe that some "old hands" have many thing in abundance but also I thin that many many players are still in deficit for lost of things (I know it from 1st hand because even in big Clan we have playerse with lowish assets that have to think twice before buying anything)!

 

 

My data:

 

For how long are you playing WoWs?

• 3+ years (stared in Open BETA)

How many "Random" battles have you played?

• 6.848

 

Do you currently have "Premium" (and if "Yes" how many day left)?

• Yes (181 days left)

 

How much Doubloons you have?

• more than 30.000 (got them all with 30% and 50% OFF - saving for another "Premium" year)

 

How much Credits you have?

• more than 200.000.000

 

How much FreeXP you have?

• 1.300.000

 

How much Coal you have?

• 80.000 (I regularly spend them on certain signal flags I use during combat)

 

How much Steel you have?

• 1.600

Interesting poll. Voted. In short:

 

North of 7k battles since August '15. 100 Days of prem left, sitting on 14k Dubs and more than 200k credits. Coal sits around 110k and (quite surprisingly) 5750 Steel! 

 

Also relevant is the part of some veterans that still have very little accumulated which might distort the view on how much the old timers have gathered. But in short (as I discussed it last night with a clan mate): Some new players will (never) have a chance to accumulate as much stuff as old players have. The curse of an ever devolping game.

Why I started this?

 

Because more and more lately we were told that "new and improved economy" means that most players are "swimming" in plenty of Credits / FreeXP / Coal / Steel.

 

And, thus, the prices of ships for 1.000.000 FreeXP (upcoming "Alaska") and 240.000 Coal are "just fine"...

 

I don't believe in that at all and that's why I started the poll!

I tend to agree somewhat with regards to coal. But FXP? That's become really really easy to farm. Clan mate of mine started roughly 14 months ago. He has all FXP ships and is already sitting on +1 mil FXP (iirc). So yeah. Coal is a tad harder, but FXP has become easily available.

Premium acc. entire time (1 and a half year) + 50 days left on the clock

6700 doubloons 

80M credits

900k Free XP

100k coal (I just bought JB, also regularly spend my coal on flags, camo, buy special upgrades, etc..)

14k steel

 

 

I never felt during my year and a half of game play that i was ever swimming in resources at any point. I don't think high prices of upcoming coal ships and free xp ships are justified.

Still believe WG logic behind these huge price gaps is just because these ships are a bit unbalanced sort to say.

 

It acts as a damn and a barrier to players acquiring them, so there is not a huge influx of overpowered ships in games.

 

But that's just my conspiracy theory  It can't possibly be true. Right???

I think however while it is easy to farm with more flags etc. there is a slight flaw in this reasoning: Many of the flags that inflates the FreeXP income are by no means free so when People uses them to freeXP techtrees , buying ships etc.

So in WGs income the FreeXP conversion through doubloons have been compensated through mission/premium containers. Most of the latest containers have included premium flags, I have bought a lot of them and my FreeXP is therefor much inflated through the use of money.

 

If then WG uses the inflated currency to say move up the prize of Alaska to 1 000 000 from 750 000 it devalues the premium containers - the Ouroborus flag with 777% and also the Papa Papa flag is natuirally less wortth if you incresing the prize on the products (ships) even if the techtree conversion values naturally stays the same. But for me the main usage of FreeXP and the drive to buy  the containers (currently on 1 Million +) is for ships, the modules I would probably cover with the normal FreeXP income.

 

So easy - yes but I will not call them Free as is no payment involved - there are indirectly a large proportion that is paid for.

u gotta take into account though that forumites rather are dedicated players. for thr epattern, i feel it went like:

- introduce events with set base xp or implemented + in f.e. (free) xp

- introduce really hillariously farm camos and signals on top (not only "chinese" ones; my bet was that its a joke when those 1st leaked)

- flood the market

- introduce arsenal with coal, clean start for a new ressource without overboarding farm possibilities

- shift obtainment for ships from free xp to coal/steel (salem, jb)

 

possible implications in the long run?

--> render freexp as "burn through lines up to t10" and "may pump up commander" ressource

--> ....

I started playing just over three years ago, FXP I am now waiting for the next Fremium ship as I have all of them so far 

Coal, I had been buying containers for the special flag but with the release of Jean Bart for coal I will collect for that ship and currently have more than 30k (none in stock at release)

Steel, I have only collected 1250 and seeing as I want both Black and Flint, I have long way to go

Credits, always welcome but never have enough of them as still grinding my way through the tech tree - 19 ships left for the complete set as currently

OMG. Yeah, this poll won't be relevant enough to write a thesis about it but it is good enough to prove that even dedicated players feel the moneycreep WG is doing. 1 mil for Alaska? Jeez. I have been playing for 3 years now and i still don't have Musashi and Krohnstadt. I'm sorry if I wanna have fun not hate the game for all the grinding it takes.

131 ships in port. 12 x T10's.

Over 13K Randoms - But play tons of Scenarios and PVE with my little brother online, so many laughs w/Facetime (Only reason I still play) 

Probably won't buy Premium after this month, due to the fact: I have more than adequate of the next few lines.

Over 36K Doubloons (26K yesterday with 200% Bonus Doubloon Coupon, after I bought Vanguard for my Brother) (9.6K with duplicate Cossack)

120M+ credits: which keep piling up. (Thanks to Missouri)

Over 1m FXP:but (90% Earned in Scenarios in the last 2 to 3 months)

Over 150k coal after I bought Salem

Been here since CBT,

3000 Randoms

No Premium: I never buy premium, I play too irregularly to make use out of it.

4270 Doubloons (for eternity, since in 0.7.1. the KKK took my baby away WG took the techtree premiums away)

200M credits: which keep piling up since I deal enough damage and play T7 enough to always make a profit, even on standard.

400k FXP:but I already bought Nelson with 375k. No interest in Missouri nor Krohnstadt. So I don't actively grind for it

16k coal: Bought Musashi & Yubari with it. Wasn't in a clan, so had to start from scratch. Now not actively grinding, picking TYL-containers just for the sake of it

87 steel: converted into coal a while back, I don't do Clanwars nor high-enough Ranked since "Fork T10, seriously"

Some ppl have a point, f.e.:

If someone has high amounts of FreeXP/Coal it only matters if he has bought all available FreeXP ships or atleast one expensive coal ship. Multiple forumites have stated that they dont buy specific ships because they dont like them (or the class for that matter).

 

I only have >250k FreeXP right now, but i own all FreeXP ships currently available.

ALso i got like 70k coal, but i already bought Salem. Some other can have 200k coal but havent bought any ship with it. And then you could always buy special modules or flags if you feel like it.

But i also used 45k coal for Bismarck/Vive la France collections.

ahouldnt it read  "how much XXX did you earn so far " insteax of how much XXX do you have?
since it makes no sense the same player would  choose different answers just after he purchased something without any thing else having changed....

yes - but we'd have no way to answer your improved question... so I'll take flawed-but-working "what's in your current bank" over theoretically-perfect-but-impractical "how much did you earn since you started"

2200 games since 2015 but I must say that I play less and less these times as I'm really losing interest in the game.

131 days of premium, mostly used for WoT

8450 doubloons, with 7100 gained for free recently (Warpiste with sovereigns + halloween event + Steam Container from free gift code)

a little less thn 40k coal and 2150 steel.

42 millions credits and more than 1 million free XP ...

There is many factors not included in this poll to show a true picture of the economy in game. How many ships do you have in port will influence the amount of available credits on your account to give an example. How many premium ships do you have or how many of the free XP/coal/steel ships. How much elite XP do you have to potential convert to free XP.

 

My personal is

3 plus years of playing this game

20.000 plus Random battles

150 plus days of premium left

118 doubloons

53.000.000 credits but I have all silver ships in port fully equipped with upgrades and modules, except Jutland and Daring.

1.334.000 free XP but I have Missouri, Nelson and Musashi.

130.000 coal but I have bought Salem

1900 steel no ships

well i am able to add status quo + stalingrad jeanbart and co for coal and steel easy (you dont?)

and for FXP i can atleast  give a reasonable estimate

CVs have been part of this game since day 1 of CBT and afaik even during alpha.

Unless you only mean the Midway. She was introduced later.

When i joined into CBT the CV's were there in the tech tree but like we have today under the "soon" tag (?), now it is a while since CBT and my memory is a bit foggy 

Now that i think of it, mabe your right, mabe i confused midway
