Pikko tried to convince me that Asashio is among the most maneuverable and small DDs at T8. After much back and forth and nitpicking on his part we manage to establish that overall Asashio might be among the more maneuverable DDs overall but is in fact among the most sluggish torp/hybrid DDs with a thoroughly average size. He even admitted that himself.

 

I guess the only one who doesn't grasp anything here is you.

.....reading/checking it all (recent postings), i mean, El2aZeR...was thinking a bit...., i mean, for sure very near future me being back here showing ya, say,  ca. 70K avg damage + say some WR 58%...i mean: what are ya gonna say at that time?...if you ask me that would present some kind of "NO-WAY-OUT-SCENARIO" for you?...and yeah, must say, already have a big smile on me face picturing that all, lol

 

I am not a stats focussed player, still, knowing how strong King Cobra Ninja Asashio (VIII) realy is and how nice she handles + scores + makes XP + makes incredible credits ...I KNOW the above  WILL happen, for sure (being just a result of me playing my Asashio freely, creatively in highly entertaining battles, for many battles).

..against all odds?....must say and admit i actually realy value yr fighting spirit, i realy do(!), no doubt, see, the strive for one individual (you) for higher accomplishments  brought us the renaissance (re history), so yeah, can only admire such. kind of makes me thinking now: "do i realy wanna crush this person on forums (???), near future re asa evaluations?"...since would be kind of me fighting the renaissance? ...no, i do not wanna do such...afterall, helicopter-view, we're all here for just fun & entertainment.....still no doubt in my mind yr negative statements re King Cobra Ninja Asashio (VIII) will prove to be totally wrong (=immense great ship, time will prove, in many ways, op?...dunno) for sure...but no..i won't gonna go boasting at that time my victory around ...that is simply not me....cheers ta you!, realy going dark now, cuz i wanna play some next 10 battles with Asashio this evening & i am doing immense great in those randoms solo battles, FUN!!!

And the opinion of every other halfway skilled DD player here it seems.

But if you want an example, recently I met an Asashio in my Gearing. His pathetic concealment advantage meant nothing because I roughly knew where he was thanks to some basic situational awareness, giving him no time to react when he spotted me before I could spot him. He popped his smoke then tried to run away, which doesn't matter because Asashio is slower than me (already hilarious considering Gearing speed is pathetic). Smoke however allowed him to turn away safely and try to do exactly what you say makes an Asashio great. He tried to wiggle and dodge my shells. Guess what happened?

 

He died in less than 30 seconds. He didn't manage to dodge a single salvo. Asashio doesn't possess the speed nor the maneuverability to wiggle in any meaningful way even against the floaty US 5"/38s. If someone can't hit an Asashio they won't hit any other DD either, aka they suck at aiming in general.

Just my few cents on the topic:

She is a fun ship, for sure, but things don't get much more into the subjective sphere than the question if a ship is fun...

 

Can she perform? Well... thing is, if your opponent has 5 BBs captained by... shall we say, casual players, you have a field day, it's pure carnage. However, the more competent your opponent gets, the more you will wish you took your Kagero instead... I had loads of fun with the ship, but the 1-dimensional torpedo power will cost you exactly these games where you really needed to carry and just didn't have the tools for it...

...my earlier comment explained: i play 100%-solo and even when i play excellent battles immensely benefitting team with my Asashio, well...still then i have ta wait and see how team will perform. my guess is: if one would go div with say two others, guess the three of them with coordinated actions can much more push a team to winning...not guaranteed, no...but the chances for getting the win would increase.

 

Just finished my 1st early evening battle with  Asashio...and yeah there are real reasons i regard the ship a true King Cobra Ninja, specifics:

 

damage done 169.972; XP 1708 (=translates to my acct 3.843 XP); nett credits 467.485 (= all costs deducted and all costs 4x prem consums also deducted = quite a real nice reward)

ended 1st place score; battle mixed T7 + T8 mostly); sunk 3x enemy; 10x torp hits; 2x solo-cappings 3x enemy dd's in battle. Asa fully carried this battle, heavily damaged enemy Akizuki (VIII) was hunting it, but got away just in time before i could sink it (time ran out, battle lost),  & FUN: took out enemy Akatsuki (VIII)...was very strong player (he ended 2.138 XP first place enemy team)...BUT I got him with he-shootings + RAMMING it, lol (...fcaus my Asa survived that ramming, as i expected basis health left). Got me: Confederate + Die-Hard + High Caliber.

 

...what i mean ta say is, kind of i got wondering last days, i mean: could it be Asashio is overpowered? Or is it just me, being perfectly suited to play this ship so effectively? Must say, the ninja-sudden-cobra-strike-play talking hyper-agressive-playstyle, well, must say kind of realy suits me. But on the other hand, form time to time i realy wonder in battle, i mean: say within some 8 minutes play doing some 120K damage already?!?...then i kinda getta ta think: maybe i better hold back a bit(?)...let the others have their fun now: kind of thinking/wondering: could it be Asashio = OP???? Sincere question of mine, what do you think? I truly mean, i myself experience the Asashio as immense strong and dangerous! so, what do ypou think?

..nahh, its NOT about "how much"...consider my aunt Jessica is a professional artistic paintress...and fcaus my aunt NOT in the paintings...connect the dots?..yeah, now ya understand i got slightly irritated (...guess those are the snake-bites one has to be prepared for from soon-to-become-ex-partners...such is life. 22% recent. 36% in the last 56 battles. 45% overall.

Also you can filter for solo stats.

 

Wins one battle (with easy MM nonetheless) and instantly goes to bragging. How am I not surprised?

nagnagnag...and now the real facts:

 

Asashio B (=me stats sofar)

Battles played= 102

Dmg avg= 67.699

XP= 1.541

vics.= 47

vics%%= 45% (yeah, had a very long losing streak last days, but then again this also means long-win-streak soon incoming, for sure i figure)

 

i mean, i played very very may destroyers (all tiers), still i experience Asashio (VIII) as by far the most powerfull: does close to INSANE credits-making. So, to my fellow players looking for a credits-ship, I can only truly advise them: TAKE A GOOD LOOK AT Asashio! ALSO (....meaning, if one want to easily & fastly grind some 30mil T10 ship...Asashio can do so!)

 

this game has many good, very good credit-makers and for sure Asashio (VIII) is one of thjose, thats what i mean ta say

Considering a long winning streak hasn't happened during your entire WoWs career that is extremely doubtful to say the least.

 

And Asashio doesn't do "insane" credit earning. It earns the same amount of credits as any other T8 premium ship.

Then again I guess for a player of your skill level it's much easier to farm damage in an Asashio than in any other ship.

I've seen Asashios & they may be difficult/hard to hit, if played wisely, but not all Asashios play wisely. In this case, they are as easy to hit as any other ship.
