It's a business decision. They are testing to see how many players are willing to pay that amount of money.

Please comment in this thread if you would also like to be able to purchase tier 9 premiums with free exp as until now (excluding some exceptions).

I agree with Notser. As he said, "it's a sale practice" not to inform us in advance on how a ship will be sold. This in turn creates a unique problem - you are grinding free XP for a number of months without knowing what the reward will be (whether it is worth it doing so), which is incredibly disappointing to the player base.

I am disappointed. I have been saving up free XP and coal for months end for Alaska, and if leftovers for Jean Bart too. for me the Alaska is the more desirable ship. Suddenly without any announcement JB appears in the premium shop, and in game in the arsenal available for coal. But not with free XP which I believe we all thought it would be. I am still waiting for the Alaska, and will not get the JB until I know how to obtain the Alaska. I do not understand why Wargaming is unable to inform us, the player base, of how the ships will be obtainable. It would be easy to say this is a free XP ship, this is a coal ship etc., so we know and can plan the grind ahead.

This is rather annoying, I stopped playing WOT partly due to the virulent racism/xenophobia (yes you can mute the game, turning a blind eye isn't a solution) and partly due to the fact they were selling my preorder tank (Mutant 8) when they promised not to.  (we got some unique camo later after some WG bashing....on a tank I had bought permanent camo for years before...)  Was hoping WOWS had more class.

Well ... this is how I solved the drama with Jean Bart. I spent my free XP on the French battleship tree and unlocked Republique. Then I bought it a permanent camo and I'm done with the French battleships. Republique is a much better ship than Jean Bart and probably the best tier 10 battleship.

I feel your pain. I did buy the Mutant the day it appeared again in the premium shop. It is (or was when I played the game about a year ago) a good tank. At least you got that special camo. I too quit the game partly due to super toxic chat that only got much worse when they removed the possibility to chat with the enemy team. There is one thing certain here, never trust Wargaming when they say something.  Subs will come, now you can buy tier IX for *REAL* money etc.

At least compared with the Mighty Mo - otherwise they would not remove it!

Musashi may have more armour, health and bigger guns but it is also more clumsy, slower and cumbersome compared with Mighty Mo! This means, Musashi is much less versatile and can get in troublesome situations much more often than Missourri!

Didi i mention anything about the Mighty Mo's radar ?!

The thing is many people already have large amounts of free XP (thereby not spending cash to get it), so they make it worthless - people simply don't have anything good to spend it on!

Then WG introduce new currency (coal), hence there are few players who have it in large amounts, in order to make them spend CASH for it !

What matters most when you compare battleships is survivability (armor + health) and firepower (main battery strength). Musashi has way better armor, health and primary guns then Missouri. I enjoy it quite a lot when a Missouri goes bow on against me and I overmatch it and sink the ship in my Musashi. No speed or radar will help it in such a situation and his 16 inch shells bounce harmlessly against my bow armor. They do some kind of scratching sound though. I always forget to check whether a Missouri has ruined my paint after a battle...

Sry Wargaming, there are no modules in your Vanguard and Dreadnought bundles again! You´ll see me in premiumshop buying the minimum bundle, after this post! Pls add premium bundles with modules in future again!  Why you´re not selling a simple bundle with: Premiumship, Tier 10 Captain, 25x Exp Missions and needed modules! What´s wrong with that? I have no need for dubloons credits and signals, as well for premium time on my account, and if I can buy those items in premium shop any time!

• –3% to the ship's detectability range by sea.
• +4% to the dispersion of enemy shells fired at your ship.
• +50% XP earned per battle.
• +5% Free XP per battle.
• +10% credits per battle.

 

That +5% Free XP can't be right? Shouldn't that be +50% Free XP?

Your analysys is quite narrow, covers a single particular situation and the only one when the few of Musashi's assets can have an edge against other ships!

When i play battleships i am not afraid of other battleships, but only destroyers!

Musashi is an easy target for any DD, even if it is 2 tiers lower, while Mighty Mo is much more versatile!

Musashi is slow and sluggish - a damage/XP pinata! It cannot escape once it gets in trouble! It has weak AA and is easy prey for carriers too!

Mighty mo is faster, more nimble, has superiour AA defences and can fight destroyers much more effectively, just as any other ship type in the game!

Musashi is in huge disadvantage against carriers too, not only because of sligghishness and weak AA, but also because she is unable to catch any carrier she would encounter!

 

So, to sum it up, Musashi has an edge against other BBs, while being in hopeless disadvantage against DDs and carriers!

Mighty Mo fares well against any type and tier of ship she will encounter!
