spain before Italy? Regia Marina was 4th after us japan and r navy, still 3 premium and no other, and now spain who never entered the war??

Not necessary Italy will get its own tree and Spain probably will be in a panEuro tree We need Italian cruisers badly now, but who knows when I bet they are keeping them away from us because next planned thing is Soviet BB or British CVs if the rework goes good. As for myself, I would prefer having more cruisers than BBs, specially the paper or keel ones that Soviet BBs mostly are. Here is hoping

You will like to know Regia Marina will get a full cruiser branch next year. I'm a spanish and i want to play the Zara class cruisers! The most well protected WWII era cruisers untill Des Moines class appeared.

Canarias should definitely be in the game due to her historical significance in pretty much all the naval fronts in the war and also in the post civil war period (trying to help the Bismarck's crew in WWII and serving as Spain's flagship for almost 40 years).

I'd also like Almirante Cervera and especially Lepanto, who (probably) was the one who sank Baleares.

One España-class Battleship would be very nice in lower tiers.

I think somebody already pointed this out, but we actually had a WWII Carrier (Dédalo, former Independence-class USS Cabot). This could be interesting.

Can't wait to see Spanish ships in WoWS! (... and maybe a few Spanish tanks in WoT! :Smile_teethhappy: )

If it is necessary to choose two Spanish ships, these two would be the 10,000 ton, Canary and the 7,000 ton cruiser, Almirante Cervera, since both ships were projected in England by Sir Philip Watt and this last ship is an improvement of the English class E (Emerald, etc.).

ummm, not quite from the beginning, Danielsama, or you would have the Alpha ship, lol.

I know I know...don't remind me of that :Smile_sad:

I am sure you would also 'spend' to get one.

You can be sure of that (also it will probably be a premium, so we will have to "spend" anyways).

Now that we're talking about the Spanish, how about the next article being about their older brother, Portugal? Once a huge naval power that ruled the Indian Ocean and defeated the Ottoman empire in a naval war. I feel the NRP Afonso de Albuquerque could be a cool Tier II-III premium ship (even though it might be difficult to balance "Avisos" in the game).

Edit: The NRP Dão could be a Tier VI premium destroyer. Afonso de Albuquerque and Dão have a close history, as both rebelled against Salazar's pro-Franco regime and tried to flee Lisbon and fight for the Spanish Republic. Both were shot at and grounded by coastal batteries at the mouth of the Tagus river.

CA Canarias class, BB España class and DD Churruca class would be great! There're also projects like some Vittorio Venetto class and Nelson class for the spanish navy that never realized and it would be also fantastic to see under the spanish flag.

Don't forget that one of the first ships with aircraft carrier capability was  Dédalo. It wouldn't be a bad a idea for a tier IV aircraft carrier ;)

Portugal certainly deserves to have at least one ship represented in WOW. Dão is there a good example and could easily fit at tier 6 or even a Guadiana-class destroyer at tier 3. As for Afonso de Albuquerque I doubt it will go any higher than tier 1 (if it's ever represented) because of its weak armament (only 4x120 mm guns). This ship was a colonial sloop built to support troops on land and not really meant to fight in open seas against other warships. But because this was Portugal's biggest and most active vessel during WWII, and she fought to the bitter end while defending Gao against the Indian Navy, she certainly deserves a bit of attention from the wargamings team. They could write a chapter about her in their Portuguese navy's article and, if they feel like, they can put it as the first tier cruiser in the Pan-European tech tree.
