Clans: Fight Against Another Region! - Discussion Thread

Tuccy

The Сlan battles test of the season "The North" has been moved to the next week for technical reasons. From October 29 till November 04, four gaming sessions will be available: on Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday. We are working on troubleshooting and sorry for the inconvenience.

Yeah at least get those days sorted out immediately. Getting the guys together on a moment's notice without much info for the first session was tough and that got cancelled. Did it again for another date, cancelled again.

I would try a third time, but without any kind of a hint of a clue as to when that might theoretically be I won't bother a third time. Cancellations are unfortunate yet understandable. The way this thing has been organized, however, is basically a farce. We have already found out all the important problems in the test season and they are actually not as technical as you might like to think.

Honestly, i wish WG would announce earlier. Many people have jobs and many other things to do than staying and waiting for last hour WG rescheduling! If you announce you do it, you DO IT! You don't screw it like you did the last two days. I can't announce people to be there, and after to apologize to them because you can't just hold on to your word.
Keep in mind, they barely this afternoon/evening,two days after it should've started, they managed to modify the in game clan battle to say it's with Tier VI ships and not Tier X! does anybody works on it?!

Hmmm Seems like it would be better to postpone to 0.7.11..

Pretty sure the newsitem covers this info and that it states 25th. Not 24th.

*edit up in a brewery springs to mind, hard enough to get folks to put time aside from work/family only to have prime time cancelled

This announcement of a Cross Server test is not, in fact, the first test of cross server play, although this play test may be different.

The first cross server event was the recent 'Supply Lines' event.

A few points about the Supply Lines Event.....

1) Only those players who actually read the News Releases or read/participate in Forum discussions were aware of Supply Lines. Even here, many players were not aware of Supply Lines.

How many players actually knew about supply Lines? Not likely very many percentage-wise of the total WoWS population on any or all of the WoWS Servers.

2) There was something like 4,000 Clans who signed up for the Supply Lines event ( normally the Clan Commander or an Officer had to register the clan, I believe).

3) quite a large number of clans who registered for Supply Lines failed to even play one battle in any of the three weekends of play. Something like 1500+ clans failed to even play one battle (which is a remarkably high number/percentage).

4) EU & RU server Clans dominated, especially the EU clans. NA was third in participation with SEA a distant fourth.

5) The big Clans dominated in numbers of players who participated. No surprise there, really.

6) My personal experience was this; I, a NA Clan Commander registered. My clan (First International Fleet) is simply a small group who make use of the clan port bonuses. We don't even play clan battles. In supply Lines, although I sent messages to all clan members, my clan had just three players who participated. Even with this paltry participation my clan finished something like 1,560th out of the 4,000 odd registrants. Way out of the running (for top spots) but better than a lot of the participating clans. My point is, a lot of social type clans barely participated in this event and the same is likely to be the case with this new proposal.

In conclusion, I suspect this new Cross Server test will appeal to the main clans and the players who follow the News Releases. However, I also suspect that the lack of WG communication to the 'many players' about this event will limit player participation.

There is something called the 'port' where all players must enter to choose a ship to play. I would suggest that this main page/window is where WoWS should discreetly advertise their new content - not overwhelming but where players can read about new things - perhaps a small reward of Camo/Signals for actually reading thru the news release (like have a pop up window to click on at the end of several windows explaining the new thing) would encourage players to actually READ the notices.

supply lines was not a cross server event organised by WG, it did not pit clans from one server against another in direct battle; it was an outside website comparing clans achievements but endorsed as a valid event by WG, you're way off point.

We understand the technical difficulties of what you're trying to accomplish.

please give it your 110%, because we are very eager to get the multi-region clan battles!

Wish you the best.

look guys, can any of us hold our hands up and say we congratulate WG on a good job when everything goes well? no we don't, but we like complaining when it doesn't, i don't think it was WG intention to mess it up, and at least Crysantos has been on here to explain the situation, plus they usually compensate us when this happens ;) so chill out.

Actually I think I can. Pretty sure I've done that and will do again in the future.

The problem here isn't that it is not working or that it got cancelled. Not really even that it was last minute. But that it got cancelled AND last minute AND three times in a row.

It feels a lot like they are trying to rush it, while I see absolutely no reason for that.

On the contrary, they have a very close deadlineClan battles Season 4 is about to start.

That's why I really wish they'll be able to make this work as soon as they can :D

Not everyone can play during the so called "prime time".... I've got friends that started playing in NA server just for that reason... with this new "feature" they would be able to play in EU server again...

Well.. keep postponing and we're at 07.11.. Seems like a better solution .. postpone everything.. :-).. I rather want something functional than something buggy, like the CV test was (but that we knew was buggy)..

Anyway, stop working on those utter waste of time containers (bring back good ones, bring back full doubloon refund, bring back Elvis) and just do this thing, or not..

Sorry guys,

I got bad news for this week:

Please keep in mind that this could change if the problems still occur but for now this is the planned schedule.

Greetings, Crysantos

This is not bad news, in fact it's most excellent to get some desperately needed clarity into the situation. Just take as much time as you need and push the season far enough so that there's a good chance thing will actually work when it starts.Further cancellations are also just fine as long as you notify of them early enough (not on the gameday).

So, what exactly is occuring? As there is Crysantos's post stating its moved to 29th Oct to 4th Nov
Yet the ingame client says the clan battles has a session today, tomorrow and sunday (26th-28th)

And why is the EU session only 10 minutes?

Much like many others here, I'd rather it be delayed and us notified in advance than trying to rush it out and then cancelling at short notice.

Oh sure, Mr 'Know it all', I was on point about lack of communication & I do not need your 'salt'. Salt is or can be a poison. Your salt is likely of uncertain quality.

Another example of misinterpretation about Clan Cross Server Battles (as proposed here) is some (I have seen this)are already speculating that individual players might be able to battle on other Servers - that WG is actually working on 'that'.

So, these new proposals can get 'twisted' a bit, in the telling, quite easily.

I am sure some individual players would like to battle on other Servers.

If WG can offer this to clan players, it is not much more programming code to do this for virtually all the players.

What a 'Festival of Mirth' (Comedy of Something) that might be, lol.

Thanks for this info!

Looking forward to soon also being able to play against clans from other servers i.e. regions, wonder what they are like.
