ST: CE change - interesting?

According to the Dev Blog, CE is getting nerfed for things that are tubbier than DDs (if my memory is correct): 

 

Am I correct that this would nerf the concealment of anything fatter than a DD?

argh... gonna have to relearn all of those concealment values, how annoying...

not a bad change for gameplay though I'd say, although it'll certainly hurt some ships (read: many cruisers) more than others (read: many BBs)...

I don't object to this change at all, but I would say that, as I mainly play DDs!

I imagine the more emotional BB players are going to have a meltdown though...

Good for the game. Reduces cruiser ability to stealth radar (Belfast, Worchester; partly Mino, Chapayev)

 

Will probably hurt some cruisers - permaspotting Zaos in DDs will be slightly easier without getting floatplaned.

BBs are unlikely to care too much apart from Conqueror and maybe Monty.

 

Then again, I preferr stealthy dpm monsters and dds

As an emotional BB player, I don't like it, but I think it is for the best.  :Smile_honoring:

From what I have seen the changes will hit several cruisers that are already struggling. The change might be a small 2% but it's still a nerf those ships don't need.

I'm happy about the change to BB concealment, even if it makes the Monarch into one of the worst T8 ships.

In general having one value for all classes is better than having different values for every class. Exception for Survival Expert, that skill should be percentage based.

Looks like BBs are getting nerfed right left and center (concealment, damage on penetration of bulges/auxiliary systems, only overpens vs DDs).

As a BB main, I still see the necessity of this and although the life will feel harder, the changes are long needed IMHO.

Lets see if this lands. But I bet as part of it they will 'review' the base CE values of all ships.

Good, it has NEVER made sense that it benefited the largest ships in the game more than the smallest.

Inconvenient that learning the new spotting ranges will have to be done, but I see this as a much needed improvement and it's heretical as it's actively a nerf to BB's.

Imo CE had to work otherway around. most buff to DDs and least to BBs/CVs. but this is a good change i would say. better than nothing.

seriously though, bbs outspotting crusiers is kinda ridiculous right now, I mean it make sense for “crusiers” like Stalingrad and Moskva but not something like conquer vs Des Moines.

Yup. They could flip the table now and it would be pretty much perfect. I dont like that Cruisers are getting (slightly, but still) nerfed by this. Some cruisers will be impacted more then others. Some already have it hard (coughmoskvacough) and dont need/deserve this at all.

As German BBs are kind of my most played line, I don't feel too affected. Secondary spec does not care. Rather, I got buffed, for the competition got nerfed.

This is still too strange, by the way: tier  4 CV Hosho 6.9 km concealment, tier 4 CL cruiser Poenix  11.2 km...

I agree it was always backwards, but at least this is a step in the right direction.

It's past due that they review the base concealment of cruisers and BB's as well, a normal (not massive) cruiser should never be out-spotted by a BB.

It's a change that makes sense. Specially for destroyers that have absolutely no way to know if what they're about to spot is a Worcester. Because if they do, and they happen to be in a headon situation, they're as good as dead. By the time they can turn around they'll already be at half health...if lucky. The change is not that drastic, however, but at least you'll be able to start turning before the blasted thing goes active and everyone and his mother blows you out of the water.

Next, radar. What's WG going to do to make those stupid 4 radar per team games go away in high tiers?. Because I'm not touching my higher than T8 destroyers until that nonsense is over...

How is that thing not already the worst tier 8 BB?

IMO it is THE worst BB grind in the game (izumo does not even come close).

No reason not to play TX dds. Usually it is 1-2 radar ships, sometimes 3 and 0. 4+ is extremely rare.

I'm having a blast in my YY, Gearing and even Z52 in random battles. Grozovoi with LM is also alot of fun.
