So WG had enough of criticism on the portal where most people that actually want to inform themselves go so they decided to keep it clean and move the comments here where a VERY small percentage of the playerbase actually visits or ever logs in. This smells like censorship

Please do not update the articles, or be sure to modify the title with [UPDATE ***] where the number of stars show the number of updates! Or even better, make a new article!

Very confusing when an article is made, and read already pops up again, on the site as a first one, or in the game client, or with the worst effect: ingame, with notification, BUT with the same title, and with 90% (or more) same information!

Totally agree with this they need to fix the game as players are leaving the game which is a shame.

Far from it actually. We find it much harder to have any kind of discourse in the comment section and usually don't get a lot of comments there.

Our aim is to be able to have more comments and feedback on the articles, not less :)

Your words do not match WG's deeds. You are saying you want more comments and feedback, but there's an arbitrary limit on days a discussion will remain open in place coming with the changes.

That looks incredibly dishonest, how can we as players regain any measure of trust that was lost through WG blunders, if we keep feeling that we aren't told the truth?

This is needed to keep the forum section organized and prevent old threads from remaining at the top of the news section.

Its also only the default behaviour, for threads that remain very active we will gladly disable the autolock feature.

Worst case scenario, you can always open new threads on a topic in another section of the forums.

This is a bad plan. A lot of communication will be lost, and you not get more feedback on anything. A move in a bad direction.

Then set up a longer period for the threads to remain open. 7 days is very short.

Yeah, I can see the default behavior being enforced especially for active threads critical of WG.

Worst case scenario, one of the moderators will close the thread and point out that there's already a thread about it among announcements.

BTW why is there no topic for the monthly missions? It's an active news item, even though it's useless since it doesn't display upcoming events.

If you look at the comments, most are made in the first 1-2 days and also due to the way they are displayed, it is not very engaging or appealing to continue the discussion.

As Conway already mentioned, if we notice a discussion is on-going, we are absolutely up for turning off the auto-lock feature on these threads. Given that the news are constantly changing, it makes much more sense to keep it this way and have them archived after a certain amount of days, as it will be the exception when looking back on how it used to work on the portal comment section or also seeing how it works for other games and forums.

This is all similar to feedback threads in the feedback sections for the current update and the public test, where we rotate the feedback threads in order to collect up2date feedback on new things, while the gameplay section serves for more general discussions.

We might disable the feature or change it in future. It is just a first version in general and an improved discussion-thread feature is in the works as well.

Let's try it for now. We can check back in a few weeks and see how well (or not so well ;)) it worked out.

Recent changes to the site already made it confusing to use, this now makes it kinda pointless to even use it.

Especially when you subscribed to this forum...
You will get e-mail about a topic created, to discuss from an article on an other surface. Efficient? I do not think so...
(Also active discusses were cut by makind this change retsrospective....)
